(Minghui.org) I have been going to the airport to clarify the truth to people since 2014, and I would like to share some of my experiences. Master said:
“Clarifying the facts and saving sentient beings are what you need to accomplish.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the 2015 New York Fa Conference”)
Nothing has stopped me. I go out rain or shine, and even despite symptoms of sickness karma. As soon as I arrive, I send forth righteous thoughts to clear up the field and ask Master to strengthen my efforts. I start by greeting people. I then ask them, “Are you from China? Have you heard that millions of Chinese have already quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its youth organizations?”
I point out that the Communist Party’s corruption is well-known. So far, 440 high ranking officials have been arrested and about 1.4 million Party officials at other levels have been taken out as a result of an anti-corruption campaign. Most people I talk to agree to quit the Party, the Youth League, or the Young Pioneers.
If someone says, “You are engaging in politics.” I tell them, “Falun Dafa practitioners exposing the evil Party is not engaging in politics, but is striving to stop the persecution of innocent people.”
Others say, “China nowadays is so good. I enjoy the good life, and travel the world.” I point out that ancient Rome was the most powerful empire in the world. However, because they persecuted Christians and became corrupt, the entire Roman Empire collapsed.
Some people say, “You are a traitor to China.” I respond by pointing out that loving China is not the same as loving the Party. Throughout it’s the past political movements, the CCP has killed more than 80 million Chinese. Of the 204 central committee members, 187 of them have moved their immediate family members overseas to Europe or the U.S. Even though they’re Party members, obviously they don’t believe in the Party and wish to escape.
I explain that practitioners uphold China’s 5,000 years of civilization, and our traditional culture that our ancestors passed down to us.
Sometimes people say, “I know that the CCP is not good. After I was persecuted in China, I escaped to the U.S. I’m now a U.S. citizen, and I'm safe. It doesn’t matter whether I quit the Party or not!” I reply, “Only by withdrawing from the Party and its affiliated organizations can you completely disassociate yourself from the CCP.” When they hear this, most people decide to quit.
One day I saw four young people chatting. I walked up, said hello, and tried to advise them to quit the Party. They walked away. When I walked by the smoking area, I saw them smoking together. So I talked to them again about quitting the Party. They still refused. When I walked through the main corridor, they saw me and said, “We see you again.” I replied, “Yes! We’re fated to meet. The first time we were strangers, the second time we're acquaintances and the third time we are friends. My friends, I really want the best for you. Please don’t hesitate to quit the Party.” All four people happily quit.
When clarifying the truth to people, we should really put our hearts into it.
Some people are deeply brainwashed by the CCP. They don’t understand why practitioners tell them about the persecution or invite them to quit the Party. They are indifferent, express hatred, and some even threaten to hit me. Some people belittle me and ask, “How old are you? Are you doing this for money? Get away, traitor! Whenever I run into such a situation my heart remains calm and I remember what Master said:
“In other words, think about why so many high-level beings dared to take such a perilous risk and come to the Three Realms. They are gods, so how could we not save them? Didn't they come to obtain the Fa? If you look at it from another perspective, wasn't their bravery in coming here a way of validating the Fa-rectification and placing their hope in the Fa-rectification? That's why I have said that we cannot leave them behind, and that we must save them and think of ways to save them!” (“Teaching the Fa at the 2005 Manhattan International Fa Conference,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. V)
One day, I noticed an elderly Indian woman in a wheelchair staring at me. She only had a thin layer of clothing and was shivering. I immediately took off my coat and put it on her and gave her a Dafa flyer. Although we couldn’t communicate, she looked very thankful.
Some people don’t have cell phones, or their phones are out of power after their plane lands. They need to call their families and be picked up. I offer to let them use my cell phone. When they say, “We’re so lucky to run into a nice lady like you. I tell them that I’m a Falun Dafa practitioner, and we strive to be good people. Then I talk to them about the persecution. Most agree to quit the CCP, and some of their family members who come to pick them up also quit the Party.
On January 28 last year, I put my backpack into an empty cart and began pushing it. I suddenly noticed a blue leather bag beneath my backpack. Out of curiosity, I opened it and found a bundle of hundred-dollar bills. There must have been at least ten thousand dollars. I thought that the person who lost it must be very worried. So I went back to the place where I got the cart and waited for the owner to return. No one came. After a while I asked a Chinese person who could speak English to take the bag to the information desk.
One time during the Chinese New Year holidays, I asked a nicely dressed lady if she came from mainland China. She said no, so I walked away. She caught up to me and asked why. I told her that I was trying to help people quit the CCP. She told me that she came from Hong Kong and had never joined the Party, and then she left. After a while, she returned and gave me a red envelope - a traditional gesture during Chinese New Year. Usually the amount of money is very small. I accepted it as a Chinese traditional custom and thanked her, then I continued talking to people. When I later opened it I saw that it contained 100 dollars. I wanted to give it back to her, but she was gone. I then gave the money to the practitioner who was producing Falun Dafa flyers.
One day a man who looked like a scholar said, “Falun Dafa is great. Despite the terrible situation in China, practitioners have risked their lives to clarify the truth for 19 years, hot or cold, rain or shine. Thank you!”
One day, I tried to talk to a man who appeared to be upper class, but he swore at me loudly and threatened to call the police. He shouted, “Get away, get away!” The police came and checked my ID and permit for my space at the airport. I happened to be experiencing sickness karma that day, and had a fever. I was being insulted by the man and surrounded by many passengers, I felt completely overwhelmed. I tried hard to hold back my tears.
The next day the airport security brought a translator who spoke Chinese. He was very rude. He said that people had reported me more than once and that we had taken donations from passengers. I told him that we never accepted money, and that was a false accusation. I asked them to check the surveillance record. I pointed out that in fact, I had found passengers’ lost bags six times and turned all of them in. They didn’t want to listen no matter how I explained it, and told me not to come to the airport the next day.
I stood there thinking that I felt so terrible that I even wanted to cry. I found my attachments. I liked to look good in front of other people and I didn’t want to be treated unfairly or be sworn at. Instead, I liked to hear compliments. I wanted to protect myself. I realized that this incident targeted my attachments to help me remove them. Even the accusation that I was accepting donations made me realize that I still had an attachment to money.
Master said,
“Under normal circumstances you might not have a reason to go approach people and clarify the truth to them, and if you do so out of the blue they might not want to meet with you. Doesn't the interference give you a chance to interact with people? Shouldn't you seize the opportunity and clarify the truth to them?”
“So don't regard the occurrence of whatever problems you face as interference to your rightful tasks, to your Fa study, or to your clarifying the truth. That's not the case. When a problem arises, it provides an opportunity for clarifying the truth.” (“Teaching the Fa in Canada, 2006,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. VII)
I felt that I hadn’t deeply clarified the truth to the airport staff. So I wrote a letter in which I talked about how we practice cultivation and believe in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and that all we wanted was to be good people, yet we were brutally persecuted by the CCP.
I explained that over 4,000 Falun Gong practitioners had been persecuted to death, and tens of thousands of the practitioner’s organs have been taken while they were still alive. The persecution has broken numerous families apart and people have lost their homes, jobs, and income. I was put into labor camps twice, and tortured very badly. Almost all my teeth were broken or knocked out. My body was tortured to the point of disability. We talk to people to expose what’s happening in China. One practitioner helped me translate the letter, and we mailed it to the lady who handles permits. Two months later they allowed us to return to the airport.
No one has since returned to check our IDs or permits. In the past, they would do this a few times each month. Furthermore, we can now walk into the terminal hall and talk to people. Our environment for truth clarification has become much more relaxed and pleasant. Completely believing in Dafa and Master is the key to this breakthrough. We can now fulfill Master’s arrangement and save more people.
Master said:
“I'm also telling you that all beings in today's world came for the sake of the Fa. If you want a being to clearly understand this point, you should go and clarify the truth to him. It is a master key, the key that can unlock that thing all beings have had sealed off for a long time and been awaiting for ages.” (“Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Atlanta Fa Conference,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. IV)
Something had bothered me for years. After I came to the U.S., two of my relatives asked my husband to lend them some money. One borrowed RMB 300,000 and the other borrowed RMB 40,000. After my husband passed away, the two relatives never mentioned returning the money to me.
When I had a strong righteous thoughts, I could let go of this and let things happen naturally. If they didn’t repay it, I’d let it be, as my husband might have owed them in another lifetime. However, when my thoughts were not righteous, I felt that I was being taken advantage of, and became upset.
I looked down on these relatives and thought that when they were in hardship, my husband and I were generous and helped them out. After my husband passed away, neither one even mentioned a word about repaying the debt. We had very little income. After my husband passed away, I had no financial support. Looking inward, I found the attachment to profit. I felt the situation was very unfair, and it made me angry. I felt that they had taken advantage of me.
Master said,
“We believe in letting things happen naturally. We know that we won’t be deprived of what is rightfully ours, and shouldn’t labor to get what is not.” ( The Seventh Talk, Zhuan Falun)
After I sent forth righteous thoughts for long hours to eliminate attachments, my uneasy heart calmed down.
