(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 19 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Tianjin] Mr. Zhou Xiangyang Mistreated in Prison

Mr. Zhou Xiangyang was sentenced to seven years in the Binhai Prison in December 2016. He went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution, and was brutally force-fed twice a day as a result.

He was severely injured around February 2019, and is in unbearable pain. He can no longer stand upright, is emaciated and only weighs about 36 kilograms.

Mr. Zhou has frequently felt dizzy since June 2019 and fainted once, but he is still forced to perform various tasks and activities. His family was not allowed to visit him during the visitors' day in July.

2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yin Sen Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Yin Sen, an Australian resident, was detained by the Border Security in Shenzhen Airport on February 4, 2019, when she was traveling to visit her relatives in Dalian City. She was taken to the Dalian Detention Center by officers from the Dalian Domestic Security Division on February 13, 2019, and formally arrested the same month.

The Shahekou District Court put Ms. Yin on trial in July 2019, and sentenced her to one year in prison. She is being held in the Yaojia Detention Center in Dalian.

3. [Beijing] Ms. Wei Shuhui and Her Husband Mr. Xu Baoquan Arrested

Ms. Wei Shuhui and her husband Mr. Xu Baoquan, over 70 years old, from Shangzhuang Village were arrested on April 30, 2019. They were taken to the Sujiatuo Detention Center in the Haidian District, and only released after a physical exam revealed that Ms. Wei had a cerebral infarction, and Mr. Xu had high blood pressure.

4. [Dongguang County, Hebei Province] Mr. Fan Zhongxin Detained

Mr. Fan Zhongxin was reported to the authorities for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in Zhaopiao Village, Dengmingsi Town. He was arrested by officers from the Dengmingsi Police Station on the morning of August 15, 2019.

Mr. Fan is being held in the Dongguang County Detention Center.

5. [Tianjin] Ms. Zhao Jinshu Detained

Ms. Zhao Jinshu was arrested on August 7, 2019. Her home was ransacked. She is being held in the Beichen Detention Center.

6. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhu Ruihua Detained

Ms. Zhu Ruihua was reported to the authorities for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was arrested by officers from the Jiefanglu Market Police Station in the Lanshan District.

Ms. Zhu is being held in the Linyi City Detention Center.

7. [Yueyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Cao Meilan Arrested

Ms. Cao Meilan was arrested at her apartment by three officers from the Jinfengqiao Police Station on August 10, 2019. Her place was ransacked, and a copy of Zhuan Falun, a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, a speaker, and other personal belongings were confiscated.

Ms. Cao was taken to the police station for interrogation, and released later that afternoon.

8. [Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Yuanhang’s Home Ransacked

Several plainclothes officers broke into Ms. Zhang Yuanhang’s home on August 16, 2019. They ransacked the place, and confiscated Falun Gong books, video and audio tapes, and other Falun Gong related materials.

9. [Lengshuijiang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Liu Xiaoling Detained

Ms. Liu Xiaoling was followed and arrested on the morning of August 15, 2019. She was taken to the Lengshuijiang City Detention Center.

10. [Lishu County, Jilin Province] Mr. Jiang Tao Arrested

Mr. Jiang Tao was arrested on the afternoon of August 15, 2019. His home was ransacked, and Falun Gong books, computers, Falun Gong printed materials, and other personal belongings were confiscated.

11. [Xichang City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Yao Jinhong and His Brother Arrested

Mr. Yao Jinhong, who works in Xichang City, was arrested on August 8, 2019. He is being held in the Xichang Detention Center.

His younger brother, who works in Chengdu City, was arrested in Chengdu and taken back to Xichang by officers from the Xichang Domestic Security Division on August 11, 2019. He is also being held in the Xichang Detention Center.

Police interrogated them, wanting to find the whereabouts of their mother Ms. Yao Jiaxiu.

12. [Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Ma Haipeng Arrested

Mr. Ma Haipeng was arrested in Xianyang City.

13. [She County, Hebei Province] Ms. Xiaohong Detained

Ms. Xiaohong from the Tianjin Iron Factory in She County was arrested on August 16, 2019, after being recorded on surveillance cameras distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked.

Ms. Xiaohong is being held in a detention center.

14. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Shuqin and Mr. Liu Jun Detained

Ms. Wang Shuqin was arrested at home by officers from the Changling County Domestic Security Division and the Dongbei Police Station on July 16, 2019. Her home was ransacked, and Falun Gong books and calendars were confiscated. Ms. Wang was taken to a detention center.

Mr. Liu Jun from Jubao Township was detained at the same time. He was released on August 20, after being interrogated.

15. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Tang Guoying Detained

Ms. Tang Guoying is being held in the Erzhigou Detention Center in the Dongxihu District.

16. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Shan Qinshu Sentenced

The Sujiatun District Court notified Ms. Shan Qinshu’s family on August 9, 2019, that Ms. Shan had been sentenced to an 18-month prison term.
