(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 28 cities or counties in 14 provinces, where at least 57 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Wu Huiqiong, who is over 70, and Mr. Tan Jiren, in his 40s, were each sentenced to a year and a half in prison in October 2020.
Mr. Xu Liancai was arrested at home in Xujiazhuang Village on October 10, 2020, by Yuncheng Domestic Security Division officers. He was detained in a brainwashing center for ten days.
Ms. Zhang Rongxian from Xujiazhuang Village was arrested on October 20, 2020, and held in a brainwashing center for ten days.
Practitioner Xiaoye (gender unknown) in the Anyi area was arrested by Anyi Police Station officers for distributing truth-clarifying materials. Xiaoye was detained in Yuncheng Detention Center for 15 days.
Mr. Li Jiankui was arrested on November 15, 2020, and taken to Linxia County Detention Center. His home was ransacked and Falen Dafa books were taken away. Zhao Wenjie from the Political and Legal Affairs Committee of Linxia County ordered the arrest.
Mr. Li was so brutally tortured while he was held in the police department and detention center after he was arrested on June 8, 2012, that he suffered a stroke and had severe complications.
Ms. Li Guowei, 69, a practitioner in Nanxiaodian Village, Wofotang Town, was arrested on the morning of November 19, 2020, for clarifying the truth in the market in Wofotang Town. Wofotang Town Police Station officers ransacked her home on November 19 and confiscated her Dafa books.
Ms. Yao Fengyun was arrested at home in the Huanggu District on July 16, 2020. Her home was ransacked. She is currently detained in the No.1 Detention Center in Shenyang City. Her case has been transferred to the Yuhong District Court.
Ms. Ye Qingli from Dalian is being held in the Wafangdian Detention Center. After 14 or 21 days of quarantine, she will be taken back to the Dalian Detention Center.
Ms. Wang Shuli received a harassment call on November 10, 2020, from the Yushu City police, who ordered her to write the so-called “three statements.” She refused to comply.
Officers from the Xingye Street Police Station in Changchun City called Mr. Dong Ming to harass him on the afternoon of November 20, 2020.
Ms. Luo Zhenmei was harassed at home on November 18 and November 20, 2020 by officers from Loucun Town Police Station in Laishui County. They broke into her home and took photos.
Ms. Mao Shuyuan was harassed at home on November 11, 2020, by director Wan and two others from the Dongfangli Street Office in the Zhuhui District. They asked her if she still practiced Falun Gong. Ms. Mao tried to clarify the truth to them.
Ms. Mao’s son and daughter received harassment calls from the Dongfangli Street Office on November 12, 2020. They were told to made an appointment to go to the office.
Mr. Duan Xianghui is currently detained in Chenzhou Detention Center. He has been sentenced to prison. Details are unknown.
Ms. Xu Ping was arrested at home on the morning of November 11, 2020, by Heyedi Police Station officers and security guards where she worked—the Construction Division of the Fourth Bureau of China Railway. Her computer was taken away. Ms. Xu was taken to the detention center but was released that same day because of high blood pressure and atrial fibrillation.
Ms. Zhang Huixia, who is over 70, is a practitioner in the Jiagedaqi District, Daxing’anling Prefecture. She was arrested on October 26, 2020, by Hongqi Police Station officers and taken to the Jiagedaqi Police Department for interrogation. Her home was ransacked, and her Falun Dafa books and photo of Falun Gong’s founder were taken away. She was released after 8 p.m. that day.
Three Jiaoxi Police Station officers harassed three practitioners in the same village on November 20, 2020.
They went to the home of Mr. Liu Shiwen and his wife Ms. Ming Shiyan. Only Ms. Ming was at home. They ordered her to go to the police station, which she refused to do. They searched the home and took Falun Dafa books and a photo of Falun Gong’s founder.
They then stopped at the homes of Mr. Liu Shipeng and Ms. Cheng Yulan and gave the same orders.
Ms. Jiang Deyuan was arrested on November 11, 2020, by Chengnan Police Station officers. She was released around 5 p.m. that same day.
Ms. Jiang was harassed at home on November 12, 2020, by three Chengnan Police Station officers and three local community personnel.
She was harassed again on November 18, 2020, by three officers from Chengnan Police Station. They claimed that her case had been sent to the procuratorate.
Ms. Li Yuqin, who is over 70, is a practitioner in Qianhu Village, Xinyuan Development Zone in the Hanzhong District. She was arrested on the morning of November 19, 2020, by Xinyuan Development Zone police. Her home was ransacked. She was taken to the police department for interrogation and released that afternoon.
Ms. Pan Guanglan was harassed at home on November 20, 2020, by six people from Shushi Town Government, including Wang Hua from the 610 Office. Wang Hua ordered Ms. Pan’s adult to children to also appear. Ms. Pan was ordered to sign the so-called “three statements.”
Ms. Cao Fang was harassed by agents from the Fuxing Town Government 610 Office. She was ordered to sign the “three statements.”
Mr. Hu Mingwen was harassed at home by agents from the Sansheng Town Government 610 Office. He was also ordered to sign the so-called “three statements.”
Mr. Bi Chaoqing, over 70, from Tonghai County was sentenced to one year outside prison in Jiangchuan County Court in August 2020. He was ordered to report to the local police station every month.
Mr. Zheng Lijun was arrested on November 20, 2020, by Wanshun Police Station officers in the Chaoyang District. He is currently detained in the Wangshun Police Station.
Ms. Yu Xiuchun’s adult child received two harassment calls, one in September and another October 2020, from Wenmiao Community in the Nanguan District. He/She was ordered to sign a “guarantee statement” on behalf of Ms. Yu.
Ms. Deng Zhongsu from the Qingbaijiang District has not been in contact with local practitioners for over ten days. Her whereabouts is unknown.
Ms. Deng was severely persecuted in the past, including in a forced labor camp and in Xinjin Brainwashing Center.
Ms. Hong Guimei was arrested at home by Wuhan Domestic Security Division officers. They deceived her to get her to open the door, saying they were taking a census. Ms. Hong was taken to Manchun Police Station. She refused to cooperate with police during the interrogation and medical exam, when they tried to take her photo, etc. She was released on November 20, 2020.
Mr. Li Wenmou and his wife Ms. Tang Shuxian, 84, were harassed at home by Dongquan Community personnel in the Dongchang District. They took photos in the couple’s home.
Ms. Liu Zixuan is scheduled be tried at 2 p.m. on November 26, 2020. Ms. Ye Linlin will have a court hearing as well.
Mr. Zhang Hengtong was arrested at home on the evening of November 20, 2020, by officers from Hepan Police Station and Huining County Police Department. His family members, including his elderely mother and his sister, have been harassed many times.
Ms. Ding Xiuling was harassed on the afternoon of November 27, 2020, by the director of the Xinwei Street Office and Xinjiang Street Police Station officers. They ordered Ms. Ding to sign a “guarantee statement,” which she refused to do.
A brainwashing session was held in Donghe Village, Zhuozhou City, on November 19, 2020. Practitioner Deng Xinxin (gender unknown), Mr. Li Zhanfeng, and others were taken there by force.
Ms. Guo Ren’ai from the Forestry Bureau of Huanan County has been harassed multiple times since November 8, 2020, by 610 Office agents and police officers and local community personnel. They went to Ms. Guo’s home again on November 16, 2020, and tried to take photos. Ms. Guo stopped them.
Ms. Guo’s husband and son received harassment calls on November 21, 2020, from Duan Xingfu in the Forestry Bureau 610 Office. Duan threatened them that their retirement pensions would be suspended and they’d face arrest if Ms. Guo still refused to sign a “guarantee statement.”
Mr. Liu Min is a practitioner in Dai Village, Liushi Town, Li County. He was arrested on October 10, 2020, by Li County Police Department officers led by Liu Li, deputy of Li County Domestic Security Division.
Before she could take a teacher qualification exam at her university, the granddaughter of practitioner Zhang Shenqin (gender unknown) was required in May or June 2020 to provide a certificate from the local police station to prove that there were no Falun Gong practitioners in the family. Without such a certificate, she would not be allowed to take the exam.
More than 20 practitioners were arrested on July 15, 2020, in Nong’an County. The large-scale arrest was planned by Zhang Kainan, director of Nong’an County Political and Legal Affairs Committee, and Li Xingtao, head of Nong’an County Police Department, under the instigation of the Changchun City Political and Legal Affairs Committee.
There are still 13 practitioners in detention: Ms. Zhang Xiuzhi, Ms. Wu Dongmei, Ms. Cai Yuying, Ms. Yu Jiaoru (daughter of Ms. Cai Yuying), Ms. Gao Xiaoqi, Ms. Ren Yongping, Ms. Sun Fengxian, Ms. Sun Xiuying, Ms. Zhao Xiulan, Mr. Zhang Dianyuan, Mr. Feng Liqi, Shan Weihe, and Lu Xiangfu. Ms. Yu Jiaoru is now detained in the No. 4 Detention Center of Changchun City, and the remaining 12 practitioners are in the Nong’an County Detention Center.
Fourteen practitioners have been put into four cases, which have been sent to Dehui City Procuratorate or Dehui City Court. The case for Ms. Zhao Xiulan, Ms. Sun Fengxian, and Ms. Gao Xiaoqi was sent to Dehui City Court on November 18, 2020. The case for Ms. Zhang Xiuzhi, Lu Xiangfu, Mr. Feng Liqi, and Dong Xiuhui (on bail pending trial) was sent to Dehui Procuratorate at the end of October 2020. The case for Ms. Sun Xiuying (wife of Mr. Jiang Quande who was tortured to death), Ms. Cai Yuying, Ms. Yu Jiaoru, and Shan Weihe was sent to Dehui Procuratorate at the end of October 2020.
Ms. Su Fengting, Ms. Zhao Shuqin and Ms. Jia Wanqin in Shuihuopu Village, Dawangguzhuang Town in the Wuqing District, were all harassed by Zhang Zongshan, village Party director and Wang Shulei, village security director, who ordered the practitioners to write the “guarantee statement.”
