Eliminating the Notion of Contagious Disease and Denying the “Lock Down”

Feb. 22, 2020 |   By a Falun Dafa practitioner in China

(Minghui.org) The epidemic in China keeps spreading. Many cities, towns, villages, and residential subdivisions have been placed on lock down, in an effort to contain it. How should a Falun Dafa practitioner view this situation from the perspective of the Fa?

Breaking through this lock down imposed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is crucial to saving people.

Some practitioners have also been “locked down” after the virus began spreading and feel that they can’t save people under these circumstances. I believe this mindset is caused by our own notions. What notions are stopping us?

This morning while I did the exercises, the word contagion came to mind. I immediately realized that the old forces have taken advantage of our fear of contagion, and this may have blocked some of us from saving people.

Before we started practicing Falun Dafa, we went to hospitals when we got sick. We also developed many thoughts about diseases. We unknowingly developed the notion that diseases are contagious, and believe that the coronavirus is contagious.

From the Fa we know that sickness is caused by our own karma. Diseases are not contagious; nor are they the reason people become ill.

During epidemics throughout history, some did not get infected even after handling the dead. Others were infected even though they never had any contact with the sick. The idea that contagion is the way diseases spread comes from modern science and modern medicine.

For thousands of years people understood that plagues appeared in areas where people had done evil; they were caused when a lot of karma had accumulated.

I feel that the epidemic in China is caused by the decades of crimes the CCP committed against the Buddha Fa. I also feel that the modern notion of contagion that some practitioners may have is a loophole and one of the main reasons for the lock down.

This is my personal understanding. If it's not on the Fa, please compassionately correct me.
