(Minghui.org) Four Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province residents have been imprisoned for practicing Falun Gong after their appeals were rejected.

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is an ancient spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Mr. Guan Xingtao, Ms. Wu Yanhua, Mr. Du Yecheng and Ms. An Xianping were among the more than 100 Falun Gong practitioners arrested on November 9, 2018 in Harbin and Daqing, Heilongjiang Province.

Ms. An was tried in August 2019. Mr. Du, Ms. Wu and Mr. Guan appeared in court on September 29, 2019.

Ms. An, Mr. Du, Ms. Wu, and Mr. Guan were sentenced to 3, 7, 7.5, and 8 years, respectively, by Ranghulu District Court, which had earlier sentenced twelve other Daqing practitioners who were also targeted in the mass arrest.

The four practitioners appealed to Daqing City Intermediate Court, only to be rejected.

Ms. An and Ms. Wu were sent to Heilongjiang Province Women’s Prison on December 5, 2019 and January 7, 2020, respectively.

Mr. Du was sent to Hulan Prison in late December 2019. Mr. Guan was taken to the same prison weeks later, on January 14, 2020.

The prison authorities denied them family visits, with the excuse that they refused to renounce their faith.
