(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in nine provinces, where at least 36 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Seven Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Li Baozhu and Ms. Ji Jianxia were arrested on March 19, 2020, and released the same day.

Ms. Wang Huilan, Ms. Zhang Lingxia, and Ms. Hu Zhenghua were arrested in March. They are being held in the Nanjing City Detention Center.

Mr. Li Weiping and his wife Ms. Gao Zhiwu were arrested at the same time. They were released later that day, after the police extorted 1,000 yuan from them.

2. [Beijing] Persecution Against Ms. Zhang Qiusha and Ms. Hao Xiufeng

Ms. Zhang Qiusha from the Daxing District was arrested on June 26, 2018, for distributing Falun Gong fliers, and was held in the Daxing Detention Center. She was recently sentenced to a four-year prison term. Ms. Zhang was previously arrested on March 14, 2015, for distributing fliers. A criminal arrest warrant was issued the next day. She was released on bail a month later. 

Ms. Hao Xiufeng from Chengjiayao Village, Badaling Town, Yanqing District was arrested by officers from the Kangzhuang Police Station on February 26, 2020, for distributing Falun Gong fliers. She was held in the Yanqing Detention Center for 30 days.

3. [Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Rangfang Sentenced

Ms. Liu Rangfang from the 852 Farm in Baoqing County was arrested in December 2019. Her home was ransacked. She was sentenced to three years in prison.

Ms. Liu was previously sentenced to five years in prison in 2011.

4. [Tumen City, Jilin Province] Ms. Di Chunmei Arrested

Ms. Di Chunmei was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division on March 21, 2020, for distributing Falun Gong fliers. Her home was ransacked, and more than 50,000 yuan in cash was confiscated.

5. [Longkou City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Fu Qiurong, Ms. Yuan Yuqin, and Ms. Yao Xinren were arrested on July 3, 2019. Ms. Fu and Ms. Yuan are being held in the Yantai Detention Center. Ms. Yao is being held in the Longkou Detention Center.

6. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Xu Qingshen Intercepted

Mr. Xu Qingshen from Tianjia Village, Handian Town, Shuangcheng District was was driving home after picking up deliveries in February 2020, when he was intercepted and searched by village head Tian Shubiao, security guard Guo Haidong, and director Liu Fuchun. They took his Falun Gong related materials.

7. [Wangdu County, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Qiuzhen's Home Ransacked

Ms. Liu Qiuzhen's home in Zhonghanzhuang Township was ransacked by instructor Wei Shuguang and officers from the Zhonghanzhuang Township Police Station on March 21, 2020. Her notebook computer, printers, cash, and other personal belongings were confiscated.

8. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Wenchen's Home Ransacked

Mr. Wang Wenchen's home in Qinglong County was ransacked by the head of Qinglong Domestic Security Division Li Yinqing, director of the Mutoudeng Police Station Song Xueqiang, officer Wang Dawei, and others on the evening of March 24, 2020. His Falun Gong books, computers, printers, and other personal belongings were confiscated.

Ms. Li Zhendi is being held in the Potou District Detention Center.

10. [Dezhou City, Shandong Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Liu from Huangheya Town, Decheng District was arrested by Dezhou police officers on the evening of March 23, 2020.

Ms. Sui Xiuyun from Wucheng County was going to work out of town, when she was arrested in the airport, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Ms. Wu Qing, Ms. Lin Yan, and Ms. Yin were arrested at the same time.

11. [Datong City, Shanxi Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhang Cuiping from Hunyuan County was arrested by officers from the Hunyuan Domestic Security Division on March 25, 2020. Her notebook computer, printers, Falun Gong books, and picture of Falun Gong's founder were confiscated.

Officers from Datong City and the Hunyuan Domestic Security Division arrested Ms. Zhang Lixia, her husband Mr. Li Fuguo, their daughter Ms. Li Min, and son-in-law Mr. Li Junfeng that afternoon. Their computers, printers, Falun Gong books, and cash were confiscated. They are being held in the Chengguan Police Station.

12. [Huanan County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Yang Shuyu under House Arrest

Ms. Yang Shuyu, 60, was arrested on February 20, 2020, for distributing Falun Gong fliers. She was taken to the Jiamusi City Detention Center for 15 days, but the authorities there refused to admit her because of the coronavirus outbreak. She is now under house arrest. Police extorted 3,000 yuan from her family.

13. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Hongzhen Arrested

Ms. Li Hongzhen, 72, was arrested by officers from Taiping Police Station on the evening of March 17, 2020, after someone reported her for posting Falun Gong fliers. Her home was ransacked, and personal belongings confiscated. She was released the next day.

14. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Lu Shouhe Arrested

Mr. Lu Shouhe from the Ranghulu District was arrested by officers from the Chengfeng Police Department on the morning of March 24, 2020.

15. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Mr. Liu Xuyao and Other Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Liu Xuyao and another practitioner were arrested by officers from Sifangping Police Station on the afternoon of March 21, 2020, after someone reported them for distributing information about Falun Gong.

Ms. Chen Chan was arrested on the afternoon of March 18, 2020, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in the Furong District. She was taken to the Hehuayuan Police Station.

16. [Yingtan City, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Ai Guoxiang Arrested

Mr. Ai Guoxiang was arrested by officers from the Meiyuan Police Station on March 22, 2020.

17. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yang Zenghua Arrested

Ms. Yang Zenghua from Fuping County was arrested on the afternoon of March 19, 2020, for distributing Falun Gong fliers.
