(Minghui.org) In the past two months, Falun Gong practitioners in Guizhou Province have been seriously harassed, as the authorities rolled out a “zero out plan” in an attempt to force every single one of the local practitioners to renounce their faith.
It was reported that the Political and Legal Affairs Committee (PLAC) in Guizhou issued an order to completely “transform” all practitioners between 2020 and 2023. Their order was based on a document (No. 101) released by the central PLAC in Beijing, titled “On the Issue of Reducing the Number of Falun Gong Practitioners.”
The Chinese Communist Party has been persecuting Falun Gong, an ancient spiritual and meditation discipline, since July 1999. The PLAC, an extra-judiciary agency that oversees state security, the procuratorate, and the courts, has played a central role in planning and executing the persecution policies.
In most instances, the police and residential committee members called or visited the practitioners in person. If the practitioners refused to sign the prepared statements to renounce Falun Gong, the officials threatened to send them to brainwashing centers or prevent their children from finding jobs or going to college.
It has been confirmed that practitioners in the cities of Guiyang, Zunyi, Anshun, Tongren, Kaili, and Liupanshui have been targeted the most. Many of them are 60 or older, including a few in their 90s.
Below are some of the confirmed cases in Guiyang and Zunyi. Due to the increased information censorship and restrictions during the coronavirus pandemic, more cases are yet to be investigated and reported.
Practitioners in Their 80s and 90s
Ms. Zou Changming, 85, was harassed in early March. The residential committee member threatened her, saying that if she didn’t give up Falun Gong, her children would be harmed. Ms. Zou responded, “I had a difficult life before taking up Falun Gong. I became an orphan at 4 and my husband died when I was 40. No one cared about me or helped me raise my children. After I regained my health by practicing Falun Gong, you come and don’t let me do it.”
Ms. Rao Jiyu, 90, was arrested on March 7, 2020. The police took a sample of her blood against her will and ransacked her home. Her Falun Gong books and 8,000 yuan in cash with information about Falun Gong printed on the bills were confiscated. She was released that evening after she failed the physical exam.

After she refused to comply with their demands, they came back every day for the next few days to harass her, forcing her to take days off to hide from the police.
