(Minghui.org) I began to practice Falun Dafa in 1996. At that time, I was a supervisor in a city department. I often accepted gifts and did not think it was wrong to do that since I didn’t ask for them.
After I learned Dafa, I realized that the standard for distinguishing good and bad was Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I stopped abusing my power for self-interest and refused to take bribes.
Someone once tried to give me money under the table during an inspection. I refused to take it, explaining that I could not because I practiced Falun Dafa and adhered to Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
The person reported me to the municipal Party committee, claiming that I was promoting Falun Dafa. My department director said that I’d done the correct thing by refusing to accept the bribe and that my freedom of belief should be respected.
Another time, someone asked the project leader in my team to give me the money they had set aside. I returned it and said that I could not take it because I was a Dafa practitioner.
The inspection team once found some discrepancies in the company’s accounting records. The accountant tried to bribe the whole team to cover it up. I returned the money he gave me after everything died down and told the accountant that Falun Dafa practitioners don't take bribes or intentionally harm others. He was very appreciative.
Whenever I was unable to return the money someone gave me, I would donate it to senior centers, impoverished students, or distressed families.
Many people, especially those in the government who were deceived by the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) lies, told me that I should trust the regime. They said that the Party was good and would take care of everything.
Corruption and bribery are the norm in the Party, so how was it good? Yet, when I refused to accept bribes and followed Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, I was treated like a criminal. Their reasoning and belief in the CCP were absolutely absurd.
I knew what the Party was really like a long time ago because I served in the military in Beijing during the Tiananmen Square protests.
I knew that the regime had disguised soldiers as students to create disturbances on June 4, 1989, and then dispatched other soldiers to kill the real students. Afterward, the CCP shamelessly claimed that not a single person had died during the incident.
The regime continues to lie about the true nature of the June 4th incident, just as they are doing with the 2001 Tiananmen Square self-immolation incident. It was a staged event that the Party used to try to dupe the public into hating Falun Dafa.
Being in the military, I learned that Mao Zedong was superstitious, yet he forced people not to believe in the divine, saying that it was idealistic and superstitious. He often had his fortune told and even named his personal guard unit Unit 8341. In the end, he died at the age of 83 after being in power for 41 years.
Whether I am at work, out shopping, or at a friend’s party, I take every opportunity to clarify the truth to save people. I mainly tell people about Falun Dafa, its effectiveness in improving health, how it teaches us to be good, and why it’s being persecuted.
One of my company managers asked me how I cured my skin condition; his wife had a similar problem. My hand often got infected with a yellowish secretion before I practiced Dafa. It healed after I began to practice.
I went to his home that night, told his wife the facts about Dafa, and helped her quit the CCP and its youth organizations. I told her to sincerely recite “Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” She did, and shortly after that, her skin disorder was cured.
After I retired, I decided to teach a class in my field. I would tell the students, their families, and the teachers about Dafa. At first I was a bit concerned that someone would report me. But I realized that I was doing the most righteous thing, so no one was qualified to persecute me. Despite some initial interference, I was able to teach for six years. Many people learned about Dafa and the persecution, and some quit the Party.
The past few years, my wife and I have been tearing down banners that slander Dafa.
One time, the signs were put up at the busiest intersection in our area, so it was more difficult for us to remove them. We were worried about being persecuted if someone reported us or we were captured on the street cameras. Still, we felt we had to take the signs down.
We asked Master for guidance and support. It rained one day and we were able to do it concealed by an umbrella.
