(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties in 10 provinces, where at least 39 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Fan Ying was sentenced to four years in prison by the Taoyuan County Court. Judge Cai Ting gave Ms. Fan about one month to appeal the sentence.
Mr. Sun Zhuanjian was arrested on September 10, 2020. He was tried on May 19, 2021, and sentenced to two years. On October 11, 2021, Mr. Sun was taken to Zhengzhou Prison.
Ms. Wu Min was reported to police when she talked to people about Falun Gong in mid-June 2021. She was arrested on June 22, 2021, and held in the Mianshawan Detention Center, Renhe District. She was scheduled to be tried on October 27, 2021.
On October 19, 2021, Ms. Feng Tingting received a call from her granddaughter’s school, asking her to pick her up. As soon as she got there, eight people immediately surrounded Ms. Feng, including seven plainclothes and one assistant officer. One of them videotaped her. They called the police and forcibly took her to the Wangjiawan Brainwashing Center.
Three people, including Feng Xianlong, the head of the Erdao District Domestic Security Division, recently went to Ms. Ma Yanfang’s home. They pressured her to sign a statement renouncing Falun Gong and tried to photograph her, which she refused.
On October 13, 2021, Feng Xianlong called Ms. Ma’s daughter at work. He ordered her to persuade her mom to give up her faith in Falun Gong, or they would arrest her. That afternoon, three officers in plainclothes went to Ms. Ma’s home and harassed her husband.
On October 18, 2021, Ms. Liu Maofen and her daughter, from Xihan Village of Wuqing District, were reported to police when they talked to people about Falun Gong at a fair. Officers from the Chengguan Police Station arrested them and ransacked Ms. Liu’s home. They confiscated her Falun Gong books and computers. Ms. Liu’s daughter returned home.
On October 18, 2021, Yu Zhihua (gender unknown), a retired doctor at the Qinglong County Chinese Traditional Medical Hospital, was reported to police when he talked to people about Falun Gong. Doctor Yu was arrested by officers from the Qinglong Township Police Station and held in the Qinhuangdao Detention Center for 12 days.
Two officers from the Taoli Police Station of Gaoxin District, led by the head Qi Luning, broke into Ms. Chen Yanqiu’s home on October 20, 2021. They forcibly took her to the police station, where she was photographed and interrogated. Ms. Chen was released in the afternoon.
On October 21, 2021, three officers from the Shuangshan No. 1 Police Station went to Ms. Lu Guizhi’s home. One photographed her home as soon as he came in. Ms. Lu stopped him. Another officer interrogated her and told her not to talk to people about Falun Gong.
On October 20, 2021, Ms. Qiao Yingxia was arrested from her home by plainclothes officers from the Taihe Police Department Domestic Security Division and clerks from the Nverhe Textile Factory Community Office.
On October 14, 2021, officers from the Santai County Police Station arrested a practitioner with the surname Wu (gender unknown). The practitioner’s home was ransacked and personal belongings were confiscated.
On October 12, 2021, officers from the Taoyuanlu Police Station arrested Ms. Zhou Yuxia, who is nearly 70 years old. She was taken to the Weizigou Detention Center and held for 15 days.
On September 14, 2020, Ms. Nie Tiemei, 50, was arrested when she talked to people about Falun Gong in Shifuxing Road. She was placed under residential surveillance for six months. After the six months expired, the residential surveillance was extended for another six months.
The case against her was turned over to the Zhijiang County Procuratorate by the Hecheng District Domestic Security Division and Hecheng District Procuratorate. Ms. Nie was tried by the Zhijiang County Court on August 4, 2021.
On October 14, officers from the Tuanjie Police Station, Hecheng District, broke into Ms. Nie’s home. They took her to the Huaihua Detention Center. On October 15, they ransacked her home and confiscated a laptop computer, a printer, and some printed Falun Gong materials.
On October 23, 2021, the director with the surname Zhu from the Fangmachang Community Office of Binxing Street told Ms. Xie Jinping to go to Party secretary Ke Xiaoming’s office. Ke Xiaoming pressured Ms. Xie to sign a statement renouncing Falun Gong. After Ms. Nie refused, three clerks came in, and one slapped her in the face. Ke Xiaoming threatened that Ms. Nie’s son and grandson would be affected if she did not renounce her faith in Falun Gong. Ms. Xie returned home that afternoon.
Wang Qi (gender unknown), who lives in Rizhao City, recently received calls from officers from the Domestic Security Division of Luobei County, which is Wang Qi’s hometown. They asked Wang Qi to sign a statement renouncing Falun Gong, which Wang refused.
Ms. Chen Xiuhua, 65, from the Bao’an District, was reported by a cab driver after she talked to him about Falun Gong on July 23, 2021. She was located through surveillance cameras and arrested by officers from the Fuhai Police Station. They ransacked her home on July 24. She has been held in the Bao’an District Political and Legal Affairs Committee since then. She was forced to watch videos that defamed Falun Gong and pressured to give up practicing.
On October 3, 2021, officers from the Shipo Town Police Station arrested Ms. Wu Wenying, in her 70s, from Pucheng County, when she talked to people about Falun Gong at a fair in Shipo Town. Her whereabouts are unknown.
On October 21, officers from the Pucheng County Domestic Security Division and Chengguan Police Station broke into Pei Changqin’s (gender unknown) home. They arrested more than 10 practitioners who were doing the exercises there.
On October 16, 2021, Ms. Fan Yuping, 65, from Gantun Village of Gantun Township, was arrested on her way to the supermarket. Her home was ransacked. The officers seized 3,000 in cash. She was taken to the Guan County Detention Center on October 17, 2021, and held there since then.
On or about October 10, 2021, Xiaoyun (surname and gender unknown), from Jinglou Village of Jiazhen Township, was reported to police when she distributed Falun Gong materials. Xiaoyun was arrested by officers from the Beicheng Police Station in Liaocheng City. She was taken to have a physical examination. Due to her high blood pressure, she was released at 9:00 p.m.
On June 25, 2021, Ms. Ni Cuiping, from the Huangpu District, was arrested when she talked to people about Falun Gong. She is held in the Huangpu District Detention Center. The case against her was turned over to the Huangpu District Procuratorate.
On March 1, 2021, elderly practitioner Mr. Luo Wei was arrested by officers from the Putuo Domestic Security Division when he talked to people about Falun Gong. He was officially placed under arrest. The case against him was turned over to the Jiang’an District Procuratorate.
On October 21, 2021, Liu Chang’en, deputy director from Changyi Domestic Security Division, ordered officers from three police stations, Zuoshan, Beimeng, and Yinma, to arrest 17 practitioners and their families. The practitioners included Liu Jiageng (gender unknown), Shi Fayun (gender unknown), their spouses, and Miao Shubao (gender unknown).
Ms. Luo Yuanchao, 71, was arrested in July 2020 for posting truth-clarifying stickers. She was placed under residential surveillance and was tried in the Renhe Court on December 15, 2020. She was sentenced to one year in prison to be executed outside of prison, and fined 5,000 yuan.
On September 27, 2021, Ms. Luo was arrested when she talked to people about Falun Gong. She was sentenced to one year in prison. Ms. Luo is currently held in the Mianshawan Detention Center.
Ms. Li Yaping, from the Shanhaiguan District, was intercepted and searched at the Shanhaiguan Railway Station on October 1, 2020, when she was heading out to attend her daughter’s wedding. She was taken to the Xiguan Police Station, Shanhaiguan District. Liu Aimin and other officers from the Xiguan Police Station ransacked her home and confiscated her personal belongings, including a printer, a computer, and some Falun Gong materials. Ms. Li was then held in the Qinhuangdao Detention Center for 23 days.
She was released on bail after her family paid 10,000 in cash. The police said they would review Ms. Li’s case in one year.
After Ms. Li’s term expired, Director Zhu Ying from the Xijie Police Station notified her to go to the police station. Ms. Li was forced to sign the list of her confiscated personal belongings. The police planned to use it as evidence to turn Ms. Li’s case over to the Procuratorate.
