(Minghui.org) As a result of Falun Gong practitioners’ persistent efforts to raise awareness during the past two decades, many Chinese people—including police officers—have come to realize that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)'s persecution of Falun Gong has no legal basis. Below details a story of how several policemen released a senior who was reported for distributing Falun Gong materials.
A practitioner over 80 years old went to a local market to distribute materials about Falun Gong in January 2021. He was reported to the police.
Soon, a police car came and around four to five policemen surrounded the practitioner. One grabbed the practitioner's bag containing Falun Gong informational materials and asked, “Where did you get these?” The practitioner replied, “I can't tell you.”
The police officer in charge said to the elderly practitioner, “Grandpa, please get into the car and come to the police station with us.”
“Can you tell me which law I broke? Let's make it clear here,” the practitioner replied.
“I can only tell you in my office. Grandpa, don't worry. Please go with us, and you will be fine.”
The practitioner saw they didn't mean any harm, and so he got into the police car. Shortly thereafter, they drove away.
After the market was out of sight and the policemen saw that no one was nearby, they abruptly stopped the car. Several policemen gathered together outside of the car and began to discuss. Finally, they turned to the practitioner and said, “Grandpa, please come out.”
“Why?” asked the elderly practitioner.
“We couldn't release you right in the market where there were a lot of people watching. You can go back home now.”
The practitioner got out of the car and went directly back to the market. When people asked what had happened, he replied, “I am simply letting people know how wonderful Falun Gong is, and I did not commit any crime.”
Later, the police summoned the practitioner's son to the police station and told him, “Please tell your father not to distribute any Falun Gong materials during the daytime. He will be safe to do whatever he wants to at night.”
