My Thoughts After Reading the Sharing Article on “No Fundraising in the Name of ‘Master’s Family Members’”

March 26, 2021 |   By a Falun Dafa practitioner outside of China

(Minghui.org) After reading the article “No Fundraising in the name of 'Master's Family Members'” and the Minghui Editorial Note, I would like to share my thoughts regarding the matter, hoping to have a positive effect on preventing such phenomena.

As a Dafa disciple, I know the importance of saving people, so I contributed money and effort to certain projects out of a pure heart to save people. But in reality, some of the projects may not be as effective in saving people as we have expected. It has everything to do with the practitioners’ cultivation state and work performance in the projects.

As I became more involved in various projects, I saw that there were actually some projects that did not require money from fellow practitioners outside the projects, and that those involved in the projects were able to get the projects up and running with a little money from the participating practitioners themselves. This is also in line with the first point in the “Editorial Note” above: “No project is allowed to raise funds among practitioners.” If several practitioners chip in to fund a project together, that is different.

Here, I’d like to share some of the unhealthy phenomena I’ve observed:

In one project, the lead continued to ask for money from other non-participating practitioners and those who participated in the project did not make full use of the resources and caused some waste.

For some projects, the practitioners had a tendency to brag and boast whenever they accomplished a little something, oftentimes to people who did not know the inside story. With such limited achievement, they continued to solicit donations from non-participating practitioners. Most of their efforts were spent on how to maintain their position and power, rather than how to better save people.

When such practitioners were doing things, it was not for validating the Fa, but to validate themselves. Some seriously falsified the performance of their project, claiming that “the project is very powerful in saving people.” But for people who are familiar with them, the actual situation is a different story. For such practitioners, we really need to make discernment based on the Fa and do not casually donate money to them. If they come to ask for help from a local coordinator, the coordinator him or herself should be even more careful in dealing with them, so as to avoid more profound damage and loss to a region.

There were several years in the past when I kept contributing money to a certain project, which was introduced to me by other fellow practitioners. After all, it was a Dafa project (I was not involved in it), so I did not hesitate to donate funds regularly until I moved to a different area. Later I learned that the person in charge of the project had some issues and may not have been using the funds reasonably and responsibly. I realized that I should not have relied on fellow practitioners' recommendation without learning about the situation myself or measuring it with the Fa.

I have also witnessed many positive cases. Many fellow practitioners are not well off, but devoted themselves wholeheartedly to their projects, both in terms of money and effort, and they achieved wonderful results. It reflects their faith, cultivation state, and realm.

This is my understanding at my current level, and please kindly point out any shortcomings.
