(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 21 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Zhang Mujie from Daxing District was arrested by officers from the Qingyuan Road Police Station on November 19, 2019.
It was reported that Ms. Zhang was sentenced to four years in prison on December 26, 2020. Her family members did not receive notice for her trial. She has appealed.
Seven or eight officers led by director Zhao of the Quanhe Police Station in Huairou District broke into Ms. Peng Xingyun’s home on January 31, 2021.
At first, she did not open the door. They made phone calls to a locksmith company. Later, Ms. Peng’s husband opened the door. The police came in, rummaged through drawers, boxes and cabinets, and confiscated 30 to 40 Dafa books, small speakers, and 2,900 yuan in paper currency with Falun Gong facts written on them.
They took her to the police station for interrogation on the grounds that surveillance cameras had captured her distributing Falun Gong materials. She was taken to the hospital for a physical examination and a nucleic acid test for the coronavirus. She was then taken to a detention center, which refused to admit her because she had failed the physical exam. Over ten hours later, she was released on bail and returned home past 11pm.
Mr. Yu Chunbo’s family received a call from a guard at the Changchun City No. 2 Detention Center, who told them that Mr. Yu had been transferred back to the detention center.
Ms. Shuai Huilan from Suji Town, Shizhong District, went to Jiajiang County to distribute Falun Gong materials on January 18, 2021, and was arrested. She has been officially placed under arrest.
Mr. Wan Wu, 65, was imprisoned from January 2015 to June 2018. Since September 2020, his monthly pension payments have been suspended. He went to the Social Security Bureau, where staff members told him they were following regulations from higher authorities and deducting pension payments he received when he was serving his prison term.
Ms. Liang Yuping and Ms. Han Jinfeng from Xiawuqi Township, Wuqing District, were arrested while talking to people about Falun Gong at a farmers market on December 1, 2019. Their homes were ransacked. They were later released on bail.
On February 5, 2021, both practitioners received a court notice. Accompanied by their family members, they went to the court. Ms. Liang was sentenced to two years in prison. Ms. Han was sentenced to one year and seven months in prison. They are being held in the Wuqing District Detention Center.
Ms. Liu Yonghong, 71, and several other practitioners were arrested at Ms. Lei Meirong’s home when they were studying Falun Dafa teachings together around 9 p.m. on February 8, 2021. Their homes were ransacked at midnight. They were forced to take a nucleic acid test.
The police pressured Ms. Liu to sign a guarantee statement renouncing Falun Gong, but she refused. She was placed under criminal detention around February 14. She is being held in the Nanchang City No. 1 Detention Center.
Ms. Du Yanzun and practitioner Gao Xiaojie (gender unknown) were reported to the police while talking to people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of February 15, 2021. They were arrested by officers from the Xinhua Police Department and the West Heping Road Police Station. Officers ransacked their homes that evening without showing a search warrant.
On February 16, the two practitioners took nucleic acid tests. On the morning of February 18, both practitioners were placed under administrative detention for 10 days and taken to the Shijiazhuang City Detention Center.
Ms. Dong Da’e, in her 70s, from Dongxihu District, was caught on surveillance cameras while posting Falun Gong materials. She was arrested on the morning of November 4, 2020. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
Several practitioners were arrested on September 7, 2018. Among them, Ms. Li Jiahui, Ms. Yu Xiuhua, Ms. Qin Xuemei, Mr. Gao Hongwei, Mr. Zhang Shengquan, and Ms. Li Yuhua were released on bail.
Five of the arrested practitioners had been held in a detention center. Their families have not heard from them and have no idea of their plight.
Ms. Li Fanli and Mr. Chen Guangchang were arrested on February 18, 2021, by officers Xue Yanlong, Bai Wei, and Li Chao from the Shenmu City Domestic Security Division, who did not present any documents. These officers carried Ms. Li away and put handcuffs on Mr. Chen when arresting him.
Three officers including Wan Meiling from the Tangshan Police Station in Qingshanhu District and four staff members including Wan Wenjun from the Xingguang Community went to Ms. Fu Jinfeng’s home on November 17, 2020. They had just entered the courtyard when Ms. Fu’s younger sister spotted them and refused to let them in. They called and harassed Ms. Fu over the phone instead.
Three officers including Wan Meiling and Wan Wenjun went to Ms. Fu’s home and harassed her on December 8, 2020.
Officers called Ms. Fu and wanted to meet with her on February 7, 2021. She declined.
