(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 26 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 54 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Pang Chunxiang was recently sentenced to three years and three months in prison. She had previously been sentenced to three years in prison in 2014.
Mr. Zhu Qinghua, Ms. Shi Hongxiang, and Ms. Lin Guilan from Hongtoushan Town, Qingyuan County, are being held in the Tieling City Detention Center. Their cases were turned over to the Changtu County Procuratorate. On April 28, the Changtu Procuratorate notified their family members that the three practitioners had been officially arrested.
Zhou Changjie (gender unknown) and Ms. Qu Lihua were arrested by officers from the Binhai Police Station on the morning of April 20, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. The officers ransacked Ms. Qu’s home that afternoon. Later, due to the epidemic, they were released on bail, and returned home after paying a deposit of 5,000 yuan.
On April 20, 2021, the Binhai Police Station told them that they could now collect the 5,000 yuan deposit at the police station as one full year had passed. The two practitioners were arrested as soon as they got there. They were taken to the Muping Detention Center and have been held ever since. Ms. Qu’s husband suffers from hemiplegia and depends on her to take care of him. He is now left unattended at home.
Ms. He Boqing and her husband Mr. Geng from the Yunji Residential Community, Dongying District, were arrested on April 23, 2021. Their home was ransacked. Mr. Geng was released on bail. Ms. He is being held in custody.
Ms. Zhao Caiqin and her children’s families have been harassed on numerous occasions recently by people from the Taoyuan Road Police Station and the Taoyuan Road Community Management Office as part of the “zero-out” campaign. The harassers told Ms. Zhao’s children to persuade their mother to sign paperwork.
They recently also called Ms. Zhao to go to the police station for a talk. All this has put a lot of pressure on her children.
Ms. Tang Meilian from the Huangzhou District was reported to the police for distributing Falun Gong materials on the street. She was arrested by officers from the Shengli Street Police Station on the morning of April 24, 2021. The officers ransacked her home without letting her know. They confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Dafa books, and 700 yuan in paper bills with Falun Gong facts printed on them. Ms. Tang was released that day.
Du Zhao, deputy head of the Domestic Security Division, led some people into Mr. Wang Jiansheng’s home on the morning of April 20, and confiscated Falun Dafa books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, three cell phones, and four radios.
During this time, they also broke into the homes of Ms. Fan Guojin, Ms. Zhang Lianming, Ms. Dai Youyuan, Ms. Huang Shuixian, and Ms. Zhang Yu’e to harass them.
Ms. Meng Fanyun was arrested by officers from the Binhai Police Department on April 23, 2021.
Mr. Zhou Deyong from Haixing Residential Community, Dongying District, was arrested by police on the morning of April 23, and his home was ransacked. He is currently most likely being held in the Binhai Detention Center in Niuzhuang Town.
Liu Hongzhao (gender unknown) was tried by the Yinan Court on the afternoon of April 23, 2021.
Ms. Chen Jiafen will be tried soon.
Personnel from the Shouguang City Police Department, various police stations, and community management offices recently harassed many Falun Gong practitioners at their homes. In addition to recording videos of the interiors of the practitioners’ homes, these people also photographed the practitioners, checked their national ID cards, asked for phone numbers, and asked them if they still practiced Falun Gong.
Practitioners known to have been arrested include Mr. Liu Hongjun, Ms. Ma Chunlan, and Ms. Zhen Mingfeng.
On the morning of April 26, two officers from the Shengcheng Police Station and a member of the community management office went to Ms. Zhen’s home again, harassed her, and took videos and photos.
Party secretary Xiong Yong, of Dongsheng Village, led officers from the Gucheng Police Station and staff members of the Dongshenggucheng Community Management Office to Ms. Sheng Zhaozhu’s home on April 14, 2021. The officers used their cell phones to photograph her and her home. They pressured her to sign the three statements, but she refused.
They also went to Ms. Zheng Zifang’s home in the village and harassed her.
Ms. Sun Bingfang has been paralyzed and bedridden for three or four years, and her family has hired two maids to take care of her. Despite her circumstances, she was often harassed and intimidated by officers and others, which brought a lot of mental pressure on her and her family. Ms. Sun had to relocate to a different place.
On the evening of April 26, 2021, officers from the Changfeng Police Station went to her original residence looking for her.
Mr. Xiong Lin from Shimahe Sub-district, Yubei District, was arrested around April 20, 2021. His home was ransacked. His current whereabouts are unknown.
Seven or eight officers from the 610 Office of the Yongji County Political and Legal Affairs Committee went to Ms. Li Fenghua’s home and ransacked the place on April 25, 2021. They confiscated her Falun Dafa books and her cell phone. Ms. Li, who is nearly 80 year old, is now bedridden, unable to move, and unable to take care of herself.
Ms. Sun Lijuan and her husband Mr. Zhang Baoguo were arrested by officers from the Linghe Police Department and the Juyuan Police Station on April 25, 2021, and their home was ransacked. The Domestic Security Division of Jiaozuo City, Henan Province, discovered that Ms. Sun was clarifying the truth about Falun Gong via WeChat, a popular social media app.
Mr. Zhang is being held in the Jinzhou City Detention Center, and Ms. Sun was taken to Jiaozuo City by the Jiaozuo police who came to Jinzhou City on the morning of April 28. The Jiaozuo Domestic Security Division stated that Ms. Sun’s case was filed and was under review.
The Jinzhou police confiscated the couple’s cell phones, Falun Dafa books, and photos of Falun Gong’s founder.
Ms. Liu Wei went to her parents’ home to cook lunch on the morning of April 27, 2021, and to take care of them. As soon as she entered her parents’ house, she was arrested by officers from the Qingniwaqiao Police Station in Zhongshan District. She is now being held in the Jinjiajie Detention Center, also known as the Dalian City No. 2 Detention Center.
The officers claimed that according to reports, Ms. Liu talked to people about Falun Gong a year ago on the evening of April 13, 2020. Back then, she was held at the police station for 24 hours and released, as no facilities were accepting people at the height of the pandemic.
Sun Jing, a subsection head in Diaoyutai Village, sent a message to Ms. Jia Xiuyu’s daughter via WeChat in early April 2021. Sun told her to force Ms. Jia to sign a statement renouncing Falun Gong.
On the morning of April 27, Diaoyutai Village head Wang Zhenghong went to the field, where Ms. Jia who was doing farm work. Wang pressured her to sign a statement to give up Falun Gong. Ms. Jia clarified the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong instead.
Diaoyutai Village official Wang Xia led two officers from the Shihe Police Station to the home of 86-year-old Ms. Chen Shufang and harassed her in late April.
In addition, a subsection head in Dashan Village, Shihe Sub-district, led two officers from Shihe Police Station to Liu Hui’s home to take photos of Liu.
Ms. Zhang Bixian, 68, a retired teacher from Jingang Community, Youxi Town, Jiangjin District, was arrested at home by officers from the Youxi Town Police Station on April 20, 2021. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated a copy of Zhuan Falun, and some printed materials. Ms. Zhang has been held in the Jiangjin Brainwashing Center.
Ms. Li Hui was arrested and taken to the Chengli Police Station on April 23, 2021. She has been held in the police station, where she was pressured to give up her belief.
Four members from the Neihuang County Domestic Security Division, Anyang City, Henan Province, in cooperation with Cui Yanhong and other officers from the Chezhan Police Station in Botou City, Hebei Province, arrested Mr. Li Bin on the morning of April 28, 2021. They confiscated Falun Dafa books, printed materials, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, a laptop computer, and three portable audio players. Mr. Li was taken back to Neihuang County and held there.
Mr. Chen Liguo was arrested by officers from the Taonan Police Department at the Ouya Plaza on the afternoon of April 14, 2021. It was reported that he had been traced and tracked down for clarifying the truth via WeChat. He is being held in the Taonan Detention Center.
Ms. Zhao Guiping and Ms. Li Ling were arrested at home by officers from the Hongtoushan Police Station, Qingyuan County, on the morning of April 28, 2021. They were taken to a brainwashing session in Fushun. The specifics are unknown.
Elderly Ms. Li Wenjuan is from Putuo District. Officers from the Ganquan Road Police Station, and a group of officers who claimed to be from the Shanghai Police Department, went to her home at around 4:30 p.m. on April 28, 2021, and forcibly collected her blood samples.
Ms. Wang Shuhua from Youjia Village was caught on video surveillance cameras while she was posting self-adhesive, “Falun Dafa is good” stickers in the Baoliluolan Residential Community on the afternoon of March 28, 2021. Ms. Wang was arrested by officers from the Xinzhaizi Police Station. The officers ransacked her home and extorted 7,000 yuan in cash from her.
On the evening of March 28, Ms. Wang was interrogated by officers at the police station and locked up in an iron cage overnight. The next day, she was taken to the Jinjia Street Drug Rehabilitation Center for 15 days of detention. After she returned home on April 13, she asked the police station to return the Dafa books they confiscated from her. The police refused.
Ms. Zhang Jiacheng was arrested by officers from the Lizhou Police Station on April 22, 2021. The Xichang City 610 Office pressured her to sign three statements. She refused.
Ms. Zhang’s daughter bailed her out, but the 610 Office held her daughter’s salary card as collateral to ensure that her mother would not tell people about Falun Gong.
Elderly Ms. Liu Meili from Qingshan District was arrested by officers from the Yejin Street Police Station on April 12, 2021. She was taken to the Wuhan City No. 1 Detention Center for 15 days of detention.
When the 15-day detention ended on April 27, at 8:35 a.m. that morning, officer Guo Chunwu and others from the Yejin Street Police Station drove Ms. Liu directly from the detention center to a brainwashing center for continued abuse.
Party secretary Song of the Nanmeng Town Government went with others to Ms. Wu Hongchuan’s home on April 2, 2021, where they harassed her and photographed her. They also called her son and demanded he return the salary his mother received during the three years she was imprisoned. Due to their threats and pressure, Ms. Wu’s son returned the money.
Ms. Liu Guoxiu, Ms. Luo Zhaolan, Ms. Huang Gangjun, Ms. Shen Guofeng, Ms. Du Huizhen, and Ms. Wei Kehua were tried by the Xindu District Court at noon on March 5, 2021. The second trial was held on April 8.
Ms. Liu was sentenced to two years and six months in prison, with three years of probation, and fined 5,000 yuan.
Ms. Shen and Ms. Du were each sentenced to three years in prison with three years and six months of probation, and fined 5,000 yuan.
Ms. Luo, Ms. Huang, and Ms. Wei were each sentenced to three years and six months in prison, and fined 5,000 yuan. The three practitioners recently appealed to the Chengdu City Intermediate Court.
Ms. Xia Niuxiu, 68, was arrested at home on February 20, 2020, by eight police officers and domestic security officers. With a search warrant, they ransacked her home and confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, a copy of Zhuan Falun, a few leaflets of Master’s recent writings, four Minghui Weekly publications, over 60 five yuan bills with Falun Gong facts written on them, a computer, and an audio player.
Ms. Xia was taken to the Huazhong Road Police Station, where she was body searched, photographed, and interrogated. The officers also took her fingerprints. Ms. Xia refused to cooperate. She was released after 7:00 p.m.
Six officers broke into Ms. Xia’s home again on the morning of February 24, 2020. Without presenting any documents, they ransacked her home again, and confiscated a printer. They then forced her husband to lead them to the couple’s son’s home. They ransacked the place without showing a search warrant.
Four officers from the police station knocked on the door of Ms. Xia’s home again on March 17, 2021. After entering the house, they asked Ms. Xia and her husband to go to the police station to close last year’s case. They persuaded Ms. Xia to get into a police car. The police drove the car directly to the hospital and forced her to take a physical examination. That afternoon, three female officers handcuffed her and took pictures of her while drawing her blood. Ms. Xia was taken to a detention center at 9 o’clock that evening for 15 days of administrative detention.
After Ms. Xia returned home from the detention center, representatives from the Political and Legal Affairs Committee, the sub-district administration office, and the residential committee harassed her on numerous occasions as part of the “zero-out” campaign. They pressured her to sign and fingerprint paperwork. She did not cooperate. They threatened, “If you don’t sign, your son’s job will be affected and he could be expelled from public office.” Ms. Xia’s son is the director of the Office of Public Security Traffic Police Subteam.
Ms. Xia was called to the residential committee on the morning of April 22 by Lu Ping, director of the committee. Lu took out a written A4-size sheet and pressured her to sign it.
Mr. Jiang Daili from Tongji Town was harassed by officers from the Tongji Town Police Station on March 22, 2021. The officers took photos of him.
Ms. Zhao Xiulan from Mian County had just walked out of her home on April 26, 2021, when she was arrested by officers from the Chengdong Police Station, Mian County. She was later taken to the county hospital for a blood test and other checks.
The officers then took her to the Mian County Procuratorate and tried to reopen her case which was filed at the Procuratorate two years ago.
Before 6 p.m. the police station notified the staff of the community management office to sign the paperwork at the police station and pick up Ms. Zhao.
