(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 25 cities or counties in 14 provinces, where at least 55 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
It was reported that Ms. Zhao Xiuyun, 75, was indicted by the court and the prosecution against her has started. Ms. Zhao was previously arrested and detained many times.
Ms. Zhu Chaobing, 73, received a subpoena from the Shifang City Court, and she will be tried at 3:30 p.m. on April 16, 2021. She was previously released on bail and stayed home.
Practitioners Xu Na, Meng Qingxia, Li Zongze, Li Lixin, Zheng Yanmei, Zheng Yujie, Zhang Renfei, Liu Qiang, Deng Jingjing, Jiao Mengjiao, and Li Jiaxuan were arrested on July 19, 2020. They were held in the Dongcheng District Detention Center. The cases against them were brought to the Dongcheng District Court in early April 2021.
Ms. Liu Meili from Qingshan District was arrested on April 12, 2021. She was detained for 10 days.
Ms. Dai Zhiying has been missing for two days.
Sun Xiaofeng, principal of the Jiedian No. 1 Middle School in Wanrong County, and Hu Guoliang, a teacher, led a few people to the sports equipment room to talk with Ms. Zhang Hongjuan on the morning of April 7, 2021. They told her that people from the Political and Legal Affairs Committee and the Domestic Security Division had arrived, and told her to go to the principal’s office.
Ms. Zhang was sent to forced labor camps twice for practicing Falun Gong. After being incarcerated in a labor camp for the second time, when she returned to work she was not allowed to teach classes or even work as a substitute teacher. Instead, she was assigned to supervise the sports equipment room.
Zhang Weihong from the Wanrong County Political and Legal Affairs Committee and another police officer told Ms. Zhang to cooperate with them in the “zero-out campaign.” They threatened her that if she did not cooperate, the domestic security officers would come and she would lose her job and pension.
On the afternoon of April 11, Ms. Zhang turned on her cell phone and saw there were eight missed calls from her former colleague Xue Yingmei. Xue said that the principal was worried that Zhang’s retirement would be adversely impacted. Xue said that if she did not cooperate, the domestic security officers would locate, monitor, and arrest her. Even the principal would be implicated, and the person who introduced her to the school would be tracked down as well.
Chief Wang Chi of the Huairou District Police Department used surveillance cameras to monitor Falun Gong practitioners. Ms. Zhang Xiuhua, Ms. Wang Yu’e, Mr. Wu Jinshun, and Peng Yingyun (gender unknown) were arrested in 2020.
After identifying practitioners through surveillance cameras when they distributed Falun Gong materials, officers broke into and ransacked their homes. They also intimidated and arrested them.
Chief Wang escalated the persecution against practitioners who were released on bail for health reasons after being arrested. Those practitioners whose bail terms ended were required to go to the police station to complete paperwork. When they went to the police station, the police arrested them, took them to a detention center, and detained them for 15 days on charges of “violating public order.”
Police officers went to Ms. Wang Baizhi’s home in March 2021. They harassed her and attempted to detain her. They ordered her to go to the hospital for a physical exam, but she refused. In mid-March, five or six officers went to her home again, this time with a doctor to take her blood pressure. She was not arrested due to her high blood pressure.
When Ms. Wang’s husband became ill, he read the Falun Dafa books and practiced the exercises, and his health improved significantly. However, after police officers began showing up to harass and intimidate the couple and ransack their home, he was so terrified that he no longer dared to practice. Now his illness has worsened and he is hospitalized again.
Ms. Liang Heping was taken to the police station from her home by two officers at 6 a.m. on March 25, 2021. They told her that her bail would end on April 4 and she had to complete the paperwork. When they tried to take her to the Shunyi Detention Center for 15 days, she refused to go. She was released due to high blood pressure.
Ms. Chen Shuqin was arrested on the street on September 23, 2020. Her home was ransacked. She is being held in the Sanshilipu Detention Center, Liu’an City. She has been denied family visits.
Huo Fengjun, Party secretary of Xixian Village, and Fu Xingbo, head of Xifu Village, called Ms. Cao Zhongqin’s mother-in-law and asked her to persuade Ms. Cao to give up practicing Falun Gong. They threatened that if Ms. Cao did not give up her practice, her children and grandchildren would not be able to join the army or attend college. Ms. Cao’s mother-in-law was so frightened that she called her relatives to pressure Ms. Cao to stop practicing.
Party secretary Huo, village head Fu, and another person went to Ms. Cao’s home and harassed her at the end of March 2021. They took a notebook with a few pieces of paper in it, and the sheet on top was a blank one for her to sign. Ms. Cao refused to sign anything.
On March 31, 2021, Liu Xuesong of the Criminal Police Team and two other police officers went to the home of Mr. Guo Jingshan’s son in Daqing City. They were ordered by the Fuyu County Court to bring Mr. Guo back to Fuyu County.
The police claimed that Mr. Guo was sentenced to four years in prison on January 6, 2001, for practicing Falun Gong. Yet during that period, due to his physical condition, he was hospitalized in a local hospital several times and he could not serve his four-year sentence in prison. Mr. Guo is currently held in the Fuyu County Detention Center and is serving a two-month sentence.
Several Falun Gong practitioners in the Yudong Sub-district of Banan District were recently harassed by people from local communities, sub-district administration offices, police stations, and the 610 Office.
Practitioners known to have been harassed are: Mr. Gan Shulin, Ms. Zhou Hong, Ms. Pi Tianfeng, Ms. Qin Yongfu, and Ms. Qin Ying.
Three officers tried to open the door of Ms. Li Zhenyu’s home with a key at 8 a.m. on April 8, 2021. They threatened to take her to a brainwashing center but failed. Ms. Li was at home at that time. In order to avoid further persecution, after the officers left, she had to leave and stay away from her home.
Ms. Meng Xiuxin was arrested again on April 11, 2021.
Four officers from the Anguo City Domestic Security Division went to Ms. Jin Huijuan’s home and arrested her on April 8, 2021. They ransacked her home and confiscated her cell phone, computer, and Falun Dafa books. She is being held in the Anguo City Detention Center for 14 days of detention.
Ms. Liu Bingbing was reported to the police while talking to people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of March 23, 2021. She was arrested by Feng Jitang, head of the Maiji District Domestic Security Division, and others.
She was taken to the basement of the Maiji District Police Department where she was beaten and cursed. Clumps of her hair were pulled out, and she was locked in an iron chair for 30 hours. Feng and others cursed her with filthy language.
When they did not see her for 24 hours, Ms. Liu’s family called the police. After the police learned her name, Feng brought people to ransack her home and confiscated a printer and 2,000 yuan in cash. Ms. Liu was detained for 15 days and has now returned home.
Two officers from the Sanshilipu Police Station and Guo, the director of the Sishili Village security, led by director Zhang from the police station, went to Ms. Lou Yuzhi’s home and harassed her. They asked her if she still practiced Falun Gong. When she said yes, the officers ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Dafa books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, small speakers, and calendars with Falun Gong content.
Ms. Duan Huaiyan, Ms. Liu Ronghua, and Ms. Mao Guiyun were arrested on April 6, 2021, by officers from the Liuzhi Domestic Security Division while distributing information about Falun Gong in the Liuzhi Special District. Ms. Mao, in her 70s, was released. Ms. Duan and Ms. Liu were held in the Liuzhi Detention Center.
Mr. Luo Mingyou from Yongchuan District was arrested at noon on April 9, 2021. His current whereabouts are unknown.
Elderly Ms. Wang Zhuyun’s pension was stopped in October 2020, and she is being persecuted financially.
Ms. Wang was imprisoned for eight years from January 2012 to January 2020.
Mr. Lai Yongcai from Chebu Town was arrested at home by Chibi City police on the morning of April 12, 2021. His current whereabouts are unknown.
Ms. Wang Zhongfang from Diaoyutai Village, Yunshan Town, was arrested on the morning of March 31, 2021. She is being held in the Yunshan Town Police Station.
Deputy director Guo Lixiao and two officers from the police station broke into Ms. Wang’s home on January 19. They confiscated a printer, a laptop, printed materials, ink, and paper. They also tore off New Year’s blessing pictures with Falun Gong content from the wall. The home of Ms. Wang’s son was also ransacked.
Ms. Ding Xiaolan is from Xian’an District. When she brought her grandson with her to clarify the truth about Falun Gong to people on April 10, 2021, she was reported to the police and arrested. The officers took her to the Yong’an Police Station where her household was registered and she was held overnight. She was taken to the Xianning Detention Center the following morning.
Mr. Liu Qingyu and his wife Ms. Zhang Chang were dining in a restaurant around 1 p.m. on April 12, 2021, which was Mr. Liu’s birthday. They were arrested by officers from the Dashiqiao City Domestic Security Division, the Nanlou Police Station, and the Criminal Police Division. The officers then broke into their home, ransacked the place, and confiscated a printer among other items.
Residential officer Zhang Ziyang from the Xiangyang Police Department and two officers from the Liaoyuan City Police Department went to Ms. Jiang Yanping’s home and harassed her on April 1, 2021. They used their cell phones to photograph her. They demanded that she go to the Xiangyang Police Department to verify some information, including her address, when she started practicing Falun Gong, and information about her parents and children. They pressured her to press her fingerprints and sign paperwork.
Officers from the Gaotuan Town Police Station broke into Mr. Wang Yingdong’s home and videotaped him on April 12, 2021. They asked him if he still practiced Falun Gong. They pressured him to sign paperwork, but he refused. They confiscated some printed materials.
Two officers from the Yanjiao Town Police Station led by villager Sun Jie went to the homes of Ms. Bai Yanxia, Ms. Xu Shaoxiang, Ms. Wang Wenying, and Zhang Zhiqi (gender unknown) in Xiaohuzhuang Village on the afternoon of March 23, 2021. They harassed these practitioners.
Two officers knocked on the door of Ms. Rong Lanrong’s home in the Tiesanju Residential Community, Yanjiao Town, around 3 p.m. on March 24. They asked if she still practiced Falun Gong, if she met with other practitioners, or if she distributed Falun Gong informational materials. They also asked for the phone numbers of her contacts.
Three officers went to the homes of practitioners Mr. Liu Fenggang, Mr. Zhang Yaxiang, and Ms. Bai Yunxia in Sijie Village, Yanjiao Town, on March 25 and harassed them.
Ms. Liang Xianfeng, 68, from Chengjiang Town, Mei County, was arrested on April 11, 2021. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Dafa books. She was released that day.
Officers from the Huixian City Domestic Security Division and the Chengguan Police Station broke into Ms. Li Aiting’s home and arrested her on April 12, 2021. They ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Dafa books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong. They tore off the couplets on her door.
