(Minghui.org) Greetings, Master! Greetings, fellow practitioners!
I am glad we have this platform of the International Online Fahui. Here I would like to share some experiences on making phone calls to China on the RTC platform, as well as clarifying the facts through social media, since many Chinese people have been deceived by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in the persecution.
After the pandemic started, I felt the urgency of saving people. Master said,
“You are not here to change history, but rather, to save people at this most dangerous time in history, by raising awareness, persuading people to withdraw from China’s three major communist organizations, encouraging people to sincerely say the magic words,2 and so on. All of these are the best medicine possible, the best way to rescue people—when people’s morals change, things will change for the better.” (“Stay Rational”)
Other than making phone calls on the RTC platform, I also clarify the facts about the CCP’s persecution of Falun Dafa through social media. Between these methods, there are different ways of engaging people as their familiarity with the facts differ, and we have to adjust our angle of approach, but there are some similarities in the thought process and xinxing improvement.
What I often do on social network is use audio chat to talk with netizens about the facts of Falun Dafa, the persecution, and urge them to quit the CCP organizations. With such a mode of truth-clarification, it is easier to break the ice than making phone calls since most of the time I have already added my audience as online friends. I often say, “I am calling to wish you health and happiness. By taking good care of ourselves, we will have a better future, right? One way is to quit the CCP, since this regime has harmed so many people in the past and is now responsible for the pandemic. Have you joined the CCP?”
Regardless of our method to break the ice, I’ve found that it’s critical to build trust with a netizen in the first 10 seconds or so. This applies to both phone calls and social media chatting. For example, one netizen once asked me where I’m from, in which online group had we become friends, and what I do.
Because my reply was sincere and factual, not something to brush her off, she no longer had concerns and she trusted me. When I talked about quitting the CCP organizations, she got it and agreed to quit the Communist Youth League. I congratulated her on making the right choice. When I wished her well, she also did the same. With such a friendly relationship, it was natural and easy to talk about the popularity of Falun Dafa in the world, how the CCP had been defaming the practice, and how one can remain safe by reciting “Falun Dafa is good” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.”
On Falun Dafa Day (May 13) this year, I came across a netizen who said he is a Buddhist.
“I know you are someone I can trust. I too have a belief system that I follow – that means we have things in common then,” I continued. “Since we believe in Buddha, we cannot straddle two boats. Maybe it’s time to quit the atheistic CCP organization to really get connected with Buddha. Right?”
That person agreed. I then talked about how World Falun Dafa Day was being celebrated, including with flags being raised to honor the special occasion at city halls across many cities, and over 120 greetings and proclamations were received from elected officials acknowledging the benefits brought by Falun Dafa.
Since he wanted to listen more, I talked about how the CCP framed and slandered Falun Dafa with the staged self-immolation incident and persecuted practitioners with crimes such as forced organ harvesting. We talked for about half an hour, and he agreed with the sentences “Falun Dafa is good” “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” He also thanked me again and again. I explained that the credit should go to Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa.
When clarifying the facts to people, I've found it important to approach things from their angle. After all, all of them deserve our respect. Other than paying attention to purging the influence from the CCP culture, I just need to talk about the facts. By explaining things clearly, people will know what is going on and be clear on which path to take. Very often, the most important thing may not be what to talk about and how much to talk; rather, we need to make sure the other side knows that he or she is respected. When the conversation is pleasant, and with trust, it becomes easier to talk about the facts related to Dafa and for people to make the right decision.
When using social media, I have experienced issues from time to time. By constantly improving my xinxing and forming a one-body effort with other practitioners, instead of complaining, problems on the surface can get resolved easily. We have to be wary of the situation when attachments or human notions surface. By differentiating them from our true self, we can weaken those elements, and maintain a pure personal field. Master’s fashen (law body) will guide people to come and learn the facts.
One day after signing into the social network, I looked at my friend list page by page. It seems most of them had been covered already." Wouldn’t it be wasting time if I continued like this," I thought. But I negated that thought and checked the list again one by one.
When looking through the list again, I found that some of them had not talked with me yet. I thus started calling them. The first person I called answered the call, and we talked for about four minutes. He agreed to quit the CCP’s Young Pioneers. When I told him how the CCP defamed Falun Dafa with the self-immolation incident, he said he knew how vicious the CCP is. In fact, his parents were suppressed during the Cultural Revolution. He kept in mind the phrases “Falun Dafa is good” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” He also said he was a businessman and was very busy. I wished him happiness and a prosperous business. He thanked me several times.
Once when looking for a network friend, several similar names popped up. Although unable to find the name I wanted, I did not give up and and randomly picked a name. That person answered the call immediately and quit the CCP. As we spoke, I found he was from my hometown in China. I knew this was not accidental. The conversation went well and I was very moved. I knew Master saw me not giving up and helped bring people to me to hear the facts.
One day right after I got connected on social media, a network friend returned a call. It seemed like another practitioner had called this person earlier, but was unable to reach him. Since the practitioner had gone offline now, I decided to pick up the call because we were doing the same thing after all.
“Thank you for calling back. There is something important I need to tell you,” I said. Later on, this person agreed to quit both the Communist Youth League and Young Pioneers. He also repeatedly asked me to add him to my social groups so he could hear more information like this. From this I could see the importance of collaboration between practitioners.
During the pandemic, I could feel that there are people waiting behind each number or social network ID. The knowing side of them is waiting to be saved, while their human notions and the CCP’s influence are blocking them. After getting ready every day, instead of dialing numbers immediately, I first calm myself for a pure heart. I also send forth righteous thoughts to the tools, the phone number, and the social network ID to eliminate interference. I also ask Master for help.
As the dial tone starts, even during those several seconds of waiting, I recite Master’s poems – even if I can onlyrecite a few sentences of a poem. For example,
“Awaiting Buddha's Salvation
The calamity has comePeople don’t realize itIt’s not too late to learn the truth-The Red Tide arose to bring chaos to the worldWipe off the Red Beast’s markAnd you will be protected by the DivineAwaiting the Buddha’s salvation”(Hong Yin III)
I can often feel Master helping me to stay focused with the conversation, without distraction. This helps to build trust in a short time. One time, I greeted a network friend and wished him well.
“If you are going to ask me to quit the CCP, no thank you,” he said. “I am not a CCP member nor a Youth League member.”
Having received many phone calls like this through the years, he considered such calls meaningless. He went on and on, complaining. Apparently, he did not really understand or know why one should quit the CCP organizations; instead, he was somewhat upset, thinking he was being harassed.
Instead of interrupting him, I just let him talk while sending forth righteous thoughts. I felt pity for people who don’t understand. Their knowing side is waiting to hear the truth, but we have not been able to help them understand it yet. After this person vented his complaints for a while, he felt much better.
“Thank you for sharing your thoughts, my friend,” I said. “How about this? Let’s be respectful of each other. When you talked, I did not interrupt you. Now it is my turn and I would really appreciate it if you could let me finish talking. This will help us understand each other well.”
I then apologized for not explaining things clearly in the past and told him that now I would like to take the opportunity to explain what all this is about. As I talked, he indeed listened attentively. Over 30 minutes passed and his attitude totally changed. He admitted having joined the CCP’s Young Pioneers and happily agreed to separate himself from the organization. He also repeatedly asked me to add him to my social media groups so he could watch videos on current events. He was truly thankful.
There has also been interference in the process and I often send forth righteous thoughts when this happens. One time after I talked with someone for five minutes, he agreed to renounce his membership in the Young Pioneers. I then talked about what Falun Dafa is and how the CCP has slandered the practice with lies such as the staged self-immolation incident. He was also listening. However, a woman suddenly screamed at him. In the end, he has no choice but to hang up. I think it was not an everyday person’s fault; rather, it was my problem. If my field is pure enough, those bad elements would be suppressed. So I sent forth righteous thoughts to clean my field before making the next phone call.
This was a person that a practitioner had called over 20 days ago but could not reach. This time, he picked up the call and was willing to quit the CCP. After he accepted the facts of Dafa and the phrases “Falun Dafa is good” as well as “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,” I asked if his family also wanted to do the same. After all, family members are so important for all of us. As a result, both his wife and son agreed to quit their memberships in the CCP organizations. They also thanked me several times.
After we start talking, we have to pay attention to the time since we do not know how long a person can listen. I always start with the benefits of Dafa – physical, spiritual, and to society in general. Then I debunk the CCP’s lies against Falun Dafa, such as the self-immolation incident. I continue talking as long as the other side is still listening. The order of my topics is important because no matter when that person hangs up, he will always be able to know the basic facts.
Take the self-immolation incident as an example. This is one of the CCP’s worst lies. I have established a list of talking points. If there are only 10 seconds, I will say, “The so-called self-immolation incident was staged, and please don’t be fooled by it. It has been called state terrorism.”
If I have 20 seconds in total, I then explain why this happened. “Falun Dafa tells people to be good. But the CCP wants to control people’s minds. So it planned this event to stir up hatred and find an excuse for the persecution.”
If there is one more minute available, I will cover more details. Examples can be used, but points should be clear and direct. The main idea is that those five people involved in the staged self-immolation were not Falun Dafa practitioners, as shown by their incorrect sitting meditation position. There were also other loopholes pointing to the CCP’s staging this incident. For example, the plastic bottle containing gasoline remained intact during fire, the little girl who got severe burns but could sing a song four days after a tracheotomy. If there is still time, I then talk about other aspects such as the ambulance going “missing” for two hours and different faces of the “same” person shown in different video footage.
The benefits of such a structured conversation is that no matter when people stop the talk, they will know that the self-immolation was staged. As long as they continue listening, they will learn new information, which will clear out the influence of the vicious propaganda and help them form a correct view of Dafa.
One time, I talked with someone surnamed Gao from a company. At first he said he was not a CCP member. But I didn’t give up and continued explaining to him why one should quit the Party. Learning from other practitioners in their conversations, I said, “You know, many CCP members talk like you – hesitant, ambiguous, and not direct.”
He laughed and acquiesced. Our dialogue also became more casual. Probably realizing that I made the phone call for his sake, he listened to me unfolding the facts for 16 minutes.
In the end, he said loudly, “Sure! I’ll quit the Party!” He also thanked me a few times. During the conversation, he said he actually knew Master and they had both worked in the military. He also respected Master very much.
When clarifying the facts this way, we can also open our mind with some humor. This will reduce tension. Once after hearing me talking for more than 20 minutes about organ harvesting by the CCP and other things, one young man agreed to quit the Youth League. He also called me “Auntie Li,” my social network ID.
“You’re like my mother who always talks about so many things with me,” he said with a smile.
Continuing in that direction, I replied, “Yes, I have a son your age. I always want him to be safe and happy.”
We then discussed more, and he said he disliked the CCP because it was rotten to the core and many people had been wronged by it. He also had some inside information on the CCP officials’ fraudulence and shared the information with overseas media.
Master introduced Falun Dafa to the public in May 1992. Within 7 years, people told one another about this practice and about 100 million came to learn the practice. Similarly, Shen Yun was introduced to the world in 2007 and within 14 years, people talked about it and heard about it, making it reaching mainstream society across the world. Similarly, after people heard about quitting the CCP, they could share the information with their family, friends, and neighbors, allowing more people to hear about this and make the right decision.
After a netizen heard the facts of Dafa, he quit the CCP. In addition, he shared the information with family members, asking them to do the same. I remember during my conversation with him, he repeated after me as I said, “Falun Dafa is good” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.”
“Right now we will be blessed for supporting the innocent. How about we also tell other people so that they will benefit too?” I suggested.
“Sure!” he replied.
Another network friend said he had quit the CCP organization previously. When asked about his family members, he said most of them had been brainwashed by the CCP to some extent. To stop being fooled by the CCP propaganda, this person refused to watch CCTV, the state-run media mouthpiece. I praised him for his clear mind. I also explained that when society in general neglects the hideous crimes such as forced organ harvesting, everyone will suffer in the end. He agreed and promised to share the information with others. In fact, he had heard about the forced organ harvesting before and knew about the “fast track system” for supplying organs.
Master said,
“The continuing growth in the number of people quitting the Party is the process of the wicked Party crumbling. Before long, a phenomenon will appear in Chinese society: When a group of people are sitting in their office, or they are in their factory or a store, or they are sitting around a dinner table, or even as they are entertaining friends at home, their conversation will go something like: ‘Have you quit?’ ‘Yeah, I quit a long time ago.’ ‘Oh, why didn’t you tell me when you quit the Party?’ Think about it, everyone, when Chinese society gets to this stage, will the wicked Party still exist?” (“Teachings at the 2005 Conference in San Francisco”)
Through studying the Fa, I learned the importance of being grateful and humble. I will cherish the limited time, collaborate well with other practitioners, and save more people.
Thank you, Master!Thank you, fellow practitioners!
