(Minghui.org) In the past few days, I have read a few sharing articles about whether we should comply with vaccine mandates imposed by employers and/or local governments. In my opinion, we should not take the vaccine shots and more importantly, we should make good use of the ever-changing situations and spread the messages of how to stay healthy and safe in the pandemic.
Master has said, “Dafa disciples’ duty is to save sentient beings.” (“Dafa Disciples Must Study the Fa,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. XI)
We as Falun Dafa practitioners are all clear from reading Master’s lecture “Stay Rational” that the current virus targets the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its followers. The best panacea to stay safe is to quit the CCP and its two junior organizations, understand the truth of the CCP’s persecution of Falun Dafa, and sincerely recite the auspicious phrases “Falun Dafa is good and Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.”
Therefore, while vaccines are meant to prevent one from getting infected, they can’t really prevent infection, as we’ve seen many breakthrough cases with vaccinated people contracting the virus. Many people in China feel that vaccination at best prevents mild Covid-19 symptoms from becoming severe.
The vaccines were developed and granted emergency use approval without extensive clinical trials in less than two years. Without a large enough vaccinated population to observe responses to the vaccines over a long enough period of time, it is hard to draw definitive conclusions about the vaccines’ benefits, including its potential in preventing people from falling severely ill. On the other hand, it has already been reported in China that the vaccines have at least 73 sides effects.
Recently, it has been exposed that in some areas, people were forced to sign a waiver form stating that they agreed to voluntary vaccination and be 100% responsible for any potential side effects themselves. While many other countries also require such waiver forms, they only apply to people who voluntarily get the shots. Therefore, the forced signing of waiver forms in China is illegal, as no one should be forced to get jabbed against their will and still asked to bear responsibility for all possible side effects. Explaining these situations to people should also help explain why Falun Dafa practitioners don’t want to get vaccinated.
Certainly, it would be more important to further clarify the truth so that we can save people instead of merely getting ourselves out of a vaccine mandate.
For everyday people, their only solution to curb the pandemic is to develop vaccines and receive the shots. But we know that it is a misguided approach. From the perspective of a Falun Dafa cultivator, this is how the old forces interfere with the salvation of sentient beings. They not only intend to destroy the world, but also aim to make it difficult for people to see through the root cause of the pandemic and many other catastrophes. Vaccines based on modern science harm the mind and body, and they also confuse those vaccinated people who have avoided infections - was it because of the vaccines or the immeasurable compassion of Master that they didn’t get infected?
On the other hand, the old forces are also trying to destructively test Dafa disciples through vaccine mandates. While they are destroying everyday people, they also want to drag down some practitioners.
Dafa disciples are only to follow the standards of Dafa, not to be constrained by lower-level principles. At the same time, Dafa disciples are the hope of salvation for sentient beings. Our responsibility is to clarify the truth to people who are deceived and coerced by the evil. If we get vaccinated and then tell people the best way to avoid the virus is to recite the aforementioned auspicious phrases, how could our words be convincing and sincere? What would gods in higher dimensions think of us? And if our words fail to help save people, what is the purpose of our existence when our mission is to assist Master in saving sentient beings?
Some practitioners argue that getting vaccinated is only to conform to everyday people and avoid being misunderstood. As I see it, it still sounds like excuses we have for not being able to let go of our attachments to personal interests and sentimentality.
Since the persecution started in 1999, there have been numerous tests for Dafa practitioners to choose between Dafa, family, job and everything else in the human world. How many of us have passed the tests and met the requirements of us at different stages of our cultivation? I feel saddened thinking of how many practitioners have failed to follow Minghui editorials to uninstall WeChat and other China-made software, or have failed to resist the ongoing zero-out campaign aimed at forcing every practitioner on the government’s blacklist to renounce their faith.
In fact, in my opinion, whether or not to take the vaccine shots should not even be an issue discussed among practitioners. A true cultivator does not view this as an issue. How to leverage the different situations in the human world to clarify the truth and save more people is the unchanged focus for us all.
Discussing whether or not to take the vaccine is essentially a topic around “self:” not taking the vaccine would impact my job or my family; and taking the shot means I do not comply with the cultivator’s standard. Practitioners of either thinking are still obsessed with protecting themselves, and not validating the Fa.
In fact, the most critical thing currently is to save the sentient beings. In the pandemic, everybody is nervous and anxious. Everybody is looking for the best way to avoid getting the virus. The reason why some people went to take the shots is due to the safety and heath concern. When they stand in line waiting for the vaccine shots, it is the perfect opportunity to tell them the facts. We should turn our worry about “self” into an effort of saving “others.”
Dafa practitioners do not need to worry about taking the vaccines, but we should use different channels to spread the messages of how to stay safe and healthy in the pandemic.
This is my personal understanding. Please point out anything inappropriate.
