(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 12 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Wang Cuiying and Ms. Zhao Aizhen from Mudan District were tried for the second time. The Heze City Intermediate Court upheld the original verdict. Both practitioners were taken to the Shandong Province Women’s Prison in August 2021, with a one-month quarantine period.
The Juancheng County Court ruled on the cases against Ms. Wang and Ms. Zhao on March 17, 2021. Ms. Wang was sentenced to five years in prison and fined 20,000 yuan. Ms. Zhao was sentenced to four and six months in prison and fined 15,000 yuan.
After the first instance Ms. Wang, her defense lawyer and her family submitted appeals as well as a second instance defense statement. In early June, the defense lawyer received a notice from the Heze City Intermediate Court that their appeals had been dismissed, yet the second instance ruling was dated May 21, 2021.
From 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on August 26, 2021, director Wei from the Shengli Sub-district Administration Office, in Shashi District, and five or six people, including Yonghong Community Management Office staff, went to Mr. Feng Feng’s home several times. They pounded on the door. As part of the “zero-out” campaign, the Shashi District Political and Legal Affairs Committee personnel wanted to meet with Mr. Feng. This group of people led by director Wei prepared for the meeting that was to take place in the Yonghong community.
Mr. Feng and his wife went to the meeting room of the sub-district office on the morning of August 27, and talked with a group of seven people, including Zhang Weihong, head of the Shashi District 610 Office, Party secretary Zhou of the sub-district office, director Wei of the sub-district office, and section head Xu of the 610 Office. Zhang threatened them that Mr. Feng might go to prison again (Mr. Feng had previously been sentenced to eight years in prison for his faith). Secretary Zhou threatened that if Mr. Feng did not “transform” (renounce his faith), they would come after him again and they would never give up until they reached their goal.
Ms. Ren Zuqun from Tangchang Town, Pidu District, was reported to the police by a traffic officer when she talked to him about Falun Gong on the morning of May 20, 2020. She was arrested and taken to the Tangchang Town Police Station. Officers body searched her, photographed her, and made her sit in an “iron chair.” The officers confiscated an audio player and DVD player.
Yu Lianjun, director of the Youyi Community Management in Zhangshi Sub-district, kept calling and harassing Ms. Han Huamei’s son. They insisted he sign a guarantee statement that his mother would not practice Falun Gong. When he refused, Yu threatened to go to his home and pressure Ms. Han to sign the statement.
Ms. Li Ailian and Ms. Huang Chunlan were arrested by officers from the Yancheng District Domestic Security Division on May 20, 2021, after they were reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong. Ms. Huang is held in the Luohe City No. 2 Detention Center, where she was abused. Her mouth became crooked, and she had difficulty walking. The detention center did not take her to a hospital for treatment. Ms. Huang could not eat much for many days.
Director Wang and staff from the community management went to Ms. Hong Shanyu’s home and harassed her on the afternoon of August 20, 2021.
Around 9 p.m. on August 24, director Li from the community and staff members from the Comprehensive Management Office went to Ms. Hong’s home and pressured her to sign paperwork, which she refused.
Ms. Liu Zongzhen from Lantian Town, Jiangyang District, was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong in Xinanshangmao Plaza on July 1, 2021.
Four plainclothes officers from the Yudaiqiao Police Station went to her home the following day. They confiscated all her Falun Dafa books and weekly magazines, totaling 60 to 70 copies. They also took an audio player.
On July 20, officers called Ms. Liu to go to the police station to sign paperwork. She went. She was forced to undergo a physical examination, a nucleic acid check, a blood test, and a CT scan. At 5 p.m. the officers took her to the Naxi Detention Center for 15 days of detention.
Ms. Liu returned home on August 4. On August 7, the police station told her to go there and sign the “three statements,” which she refused. The officers signed the statements themselves, filled in her name, and grabbed her hand to press her fingerprints on the paper.
Mr. Liu Qingfei from Huanglatuo Village, Ciyutuo Town, Liaozhong District, was arrested and his home was ransacked by village officials and officers from the Ciyutuo Police Station. He is being held in the Liaozhong District Domestic Security Division.
Ms. Shui Qionghua from Wenjiang District was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong on the morning of May 13, 2021. She was arrested by officers from the Jiaolong Police Station, Shuangliu District. She was taken to the Shuangliu District Detention Center the following day. Her case has been turned over to the Shuanliu District Procuratorate.
Ms. Zhang Song, in her 40s, an anesthesiologist at the Dayu County People’s Hospital, was arrested before July 22, 2021. The police ransacked her home and confiscated a computer, Falun Dafa books, Minghui Weekly, and printed materials. Further details are pending.
