(Minghui.org) I admit that I have very strong feelings of jealousy. That is, I look down on practitioners whom I believe don’t cultivate well.
This attachment has existed for a long time, but I didn’t take it seriously until recently, when I realized that this attachment had become so serious that it was preventing me from improving in my cultivation.
I thus made an effort to remove it, and embrace my fellow practitioners with compassion and kindness. When Master saw that I had taken action to eliminate the attachment, he used a dream to enlighten me about the serious consequences of not getting rid of jealousy.
In the dream, I saw a woman practitioner whom I usually look down upon. She was a little irrational before cultivation, and after she started practicing she also went to extremes.
In the dream, she walked up to me and said she had just returned from 20 minutes of doing the Dafa exercises outside. I thought, in such an evil environment, is it safe for her to openly practice the exercises outside?
She then asked me to go get an item from inside a gate on the north side of the building we were standing next to. It was an iron barred gate, and when I went in, there were steps leading to a deep darkness.
As I walked down the steps for some distance, I felt very scared, and intuition told me that there was a demon inside. I then saw that the demon was a fish, but the image was not of a fish in our dimension.
To be exact, it was similar to a long triangular flat shovel used by construction workers. It was about four inches wide at the front, one inch wide at the back, and about eight inches long.
It was floating in the air, trying to attack me. I was very scared, but then I thought, it can’t harm me because I have Master's protection.
It disappeared once I held that thought. However, I still was terrified about the dimensional field around me, and knew that the demon was still staring at me in the dark.
I walked backwards while begging for Master’s protection, I finally made it up to the entrance. I turned back, and saw two or three more demons in the image of a fish.
At this time, the “administrator” arrived. He is my colleague who’s not a practitioner.
He told me that the flat-shovel shaped fish was actually a very well-known cultivator from the past, but because of his jealousy, he had changed into a demon.
Waking up from the dream, I was quite emotional. I remembered what Master said,
“The issue of jealousy is very serious as it directly involves the matter of whether or not you can complete cultivation. If jealousy is not abolished, everything that you have cultivated will become fragile. There is this rule: If in the course of cultivation jealousy is not given up, one will not attain Righteous Fruition—absolutely not.” (Lecture Seven, Zhuan Falun)
“Today I am explaining this to practitioners, so you should not keep yourselves in the dark and fail to enlighten to this. The goal that you intend to achieve is to cultivate toward high levels. The attachment of jealousy must be relinquished.” (Lecture Seven, Zhuan Falun)
Cultivation is serious, and I must never take it lightly again. I wrote down this dream as a warning to myself and as a reminder to everyone, that the attachment of jealousy must be eliminated.
