(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 24 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Chen Qiuju, Ms. Chen Li, and their family members in Pengxi County were arrested on the evening of October 23, 2022, and taken to the Xinhui Town Detention Center
Ms. Shi Yan from Heilongjiang Province was arrested by 20 to 30 police officers at her daughter’s home in Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province at around 5 a.m. on September 11, 2022.
Mr. Luo Xiaogang, who works for the Xiaogan Branch of China Mobile Communications Corporation in the Xiaonan District, was arrested on November 10, 2022. The police ransacked his home and confiscated a computer, a cell phone, a printer, and Falun Gong books. Mr. Luo was placed under administrative detention for 15 days.
More than ten officers from the Huachang Police Station went to Ms. Dong Lihua’s home and arrested her on the afternoon of November 5, 2022. They ransacked the place and confiscated her Falun Gong books and an audio player.
Ms. Dong was taken to the police station for interrogation, and her palm prints were collected. She was released at around 6 p.m. that day.
Ms. Dong’s older brother was also arrested on November 6 and placed in detention.
Ms. Xu Yingjie, 56, from the Huaiyin District, was arrested by officers from the Huaiyin District Police Department while she talked to people about Falun Gong near Hewang Village on October 17, 2022.
Ms. Xu was taken to a police station. The officers told her to sit in the interrogation chair, but she refused. The officers immediately body-searched her and took her keys. They ransacked her home while she was at the police station. They confiscated all of her Falun Gong books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, USB drives, and paper bills with Falun Gong facts printed on them.
When the officers asked Ms. Xu to sign the interrogation transcript, she wrote, “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.”
That evening, the officers took Ms. Xu to the designated facility to collect her fingerprints, palm prints, footprints, etc. Ms. Xu was very weak and had to be carried into the hall. The staff members at the facility were angry at the officers when they saw her situation, and said, “She’s already like this. Why don’t you let her go?” The next day, Ms. Xu was forced to have her fingerprints, palm prints, and footprints collected.
Afterwards, the officers called her family and relatives, who guaranteed her release on bail. Ms. Xu has returned home.
Officers from the Tengjia Police Station and members of the Xiahuitou Village Committee harassed Ms. Yu Xiulian in the spring of 2022. Village officials, as instructed by police officers, went to Ms. Yu’s home twice to try to force her to sign paperwork, which she refused.
The village officials subsequently repeatedly pressured Ms. Yu to sign paperwork, and the village women’s director and the director of the police station harassed her.
Ms. Zhu Chaobing’s home was ransacked by officers from the Nanquan Town Police Station on September 22, 2022. The officers confiscated her Falun Gong books and photographed the place.
Ms. Zhu went to the police station on September 25 to ask for her confiscated Falun Gong books. The officers refused to give the books back to her. They set up cameras on both sides of her home to monitor her.
Officers from the Linjiacun Town Police Station broke into Mr. Yu Zenggang’s home in Chenjia Village on November 5, 2022. When they started taking photos, Mr. Yu stopped them.
Ms. Li Guilan, 85, was harassed at her home repeatedly by officials from the Yingjun Town government. On November 3, 2022, they pressured Ms. Li to sign paperwork, which she refused.
Ms. Liu Yan, 48, was arrested on October 17, 2022. The police ransacked her home and confiscated all her Falun Gong books, an audio player, and a laptop computer. The police placed Ms. Liu under ten days of administrative detention, which was to be implemented later on. Ms. Liu has returned home.
Officers from the Yilan County Domestic Security Division and plainclothes officers from the Guanyue Police Station went to Mr. Zhu Deshan’s home on October 23, 2022. They claimed they were inspecting the natural gas lines, and asked the elderly lady who lives across from Mr. Zhu’s apartment to get him to open the door.
After the door was opened, four or five plainclothes officers rushed in. Two officers restrained Mr. Zhu’s wife, while the others frantically ransacked the place.
Afterwards, the officers ransacked Mr. Bai Hongyou’s home.
Ms. Wang Cuilan, Ms. Wang Cuiping, Ms. Wang Lanying, Ms. Wang Mingzhi, Mr. Li Haitao, Mr. Li Chunmin, Ms. Yu Zuzhi, Mr. Sun Chuanfu, and Mr. Sun Yuhe were arrested and held in custody between June and July 2020.
The nine practitioners were secretly sentenced to prison on February 3, 2021 and fined by the Linquan County Court. Ms. Wang Cuilan was sentenced to ten years in prison and fined 50,000 yuan.
