(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 23 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Five practitioners, including Mr. Liu Zhaoqing, Ms. Sun Peiying, Ms. Ma Shuyan, Ms. Chi Guilan, and Ms. Chen Xiulan, were arrested by patrol officers on June 29, 2021. They were taken to the Zhujie Domestic Security Division for interrogation. Their homes were ransacked that afternoon. The police confiscated Ms. Chi Guilan and Ms. Chen Xiulan’s Falun Gong books and photos of Falun Gong’s founder.
The five practitioners were forced to sit in metal chairs and interrogated for two days. Their family members were told to deposit 10,000 yuan for each of them to bail them out. They were released on bail pending trial on July 2, 2021.
They received calls from the Domestic Security Division of Zhucheng City on March 4, 2022, and learned that their cases were submitted to the Procuratorate.
Mr. Huang, his wife, and a practitioner surnamed Wang (gender unknown) were arrested by a group of unidentified officers at their rented house on March 4, 2022. Further information is pending.
Officers from the Kaixuan Road Police Station arrested Ms. Li Guilan and another practitioner surnamed He (gender unknown), both in their seventies, on the afternoon of January 12, 2022, when they talked to people about Falun Gong. The police ransacked their homes and confiscated their personal belongings. They were taken to the Changchun No. 4 Detention Center.
Five or six officers from the Nanling Police Station and the community office went to Ms. Ren Fengchun’s home on March 2, 2022. They ransacked her home and confiscated two photos of Falun Gong’s founder, copies of the Nine Commentaries, and Minghui Weekly. The police took Ms. Ren to the police station and pressured her to sign statements renouncing Falun Gong, which she refused.
Officers from the Changning District Domestic Security Division arrested Ms. Zhang Yibo and Mr. He Binggang on October 9, 2021. They have been held at the Changning District Detention Center since then. The cases against them were submitted to the Changning District Procuratorate on February 15, 2022.
Officers from the Shuangyang District Police Department and various local police stations arrested more than ten practitioners and ransacked their homes on November 5, 2021.
Ms. Li Shuhua was released due to her health issues that day. Officers from the Beishan Police Station broke into Ms. Li’s home on November 15, 2021, and took her to the Shuangyang District Hospital to have a medical examination for the second time. Ms. Li was released because she did not pass the physical exam. She was arrested for the third time on December 8, 2021, and taken to the Changchun City Hospital to have a medical exam. She was released for the same reason.
Officers from the Longgu Police Station went to Ms. Pan Tianping’s home in Longgu Township, Huangchuan County, on February 15, 2022. They ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, MP3 players, and more than one thousand yuan with Falun Gong information printed on them.
Director Sun Yanquan and another officer went to Ms. Pan’s home again on February 19, 2022. They smashed the satellite receiver and dish for the New Tang Dynasty Television (NTD) station.
Several officers from the Beicheng Police Station led by an officer surnamed Yu went to Ms. Yu Jingchun’s home on March 1, 2022. They ransacked the place and confiscated her Falun Gong books and MP3 players. They went to her home again around 8:30 p.m. that day and pressured Ms. Yu’s husband to sign statements renouncing Falun Gong on her behalf. They said they would officially arrest Ms. Yu if she did not give up her faith in Falun Gong.
Ms. Meng Yu, a teacher of the Seventh High School, was scheduled to be tried on March 10, 2022, by the Dongying District Court.
Ms. Meng was one of the twenty practitioners arrested by the Binhai Police Department on April 23, 2021. Her home was ransacked. Her husband, who did not practice Falun Gong, was taken to the police station that day and was interrogated for more than 10 hours.
Ms. Li Mingxia didn’t arrive at to her parents' home as scheduled on March 4, 2022. It was later learned that she'd been arrested and taken to the local police department.
Officers from the Shuanghe Town Police Station in Huaying City arrested numerous practitioners on August 2, 2021, including Mr. Deng Qixing, who was detained for ten days and tortured during that time. Mr. Deng could not speak or walk when he was released. His arms were injured. He was carried into his home by the police.
Ms. Xu Xiaolan was released on February 28, 2022. She was arrested on February 28, 2020. Her home was ransacked. She was tried at the Huaying Court on August 6, 2020, and was sentenced to two years in prison.
Mr. Yue Nailiang, 63, was arrested at his mother’s home in the Fengman District by Huashan Police Station officers on February 14, 2022. He was detained for 15 days in the Jilin City Detention Center.
After his detention term expired, Mr. Yue was taken to the Kouqian Town Detention Center and held there.
Ms. Hu Yueying was sentenced to three years in prison for her faith in Falun Gong in 2014. She was forcibly sent to prison even though she didn’t pass the physical exam.
Ms. Hu was arrested again by officers from the Huaiyang County Police Department Domestic Security Division in June 2021. After being held for six months, she was sentenced to four years and six months in prison on February 22, 2022, and sent to the Xinxiang Women’s Prison.
Mr. Zhao Zhenjiang, a taxi driver, was stopped while driving on February 26, 2022. The police arrested him and placed him in handcuffs after verifying his identity. Further information is pending.
