(Minghui.org) I am a Falun Dafa practitioner who was born in the 1990s and started cultivation when I was nine years old. I have taken many detours in cultivation and am deeply ashamed. I would like to share my cultivation process of being a young Dafa disciple to becoming an adult Dafa disciple. I hope other practitioners like me can realize the importance of assisting Master in rectifying the Fa by doing the three things before there isn’t any time left.
My mother obtained the Fa in 1996 when I was five years old. I always believed in the divine and gods. I always thought I was special because I started to have memories of myself and my surroundings at two years old. It was not until I started cultivating Falun Dafa that I realized that Master had been protecting me from a very young age. I am a Fa-rectification period Dafa disciple and have a predestined relationship with Dafa. What an honor is it to be called that! I am also very fortunate to have known Dafa from a very young age.
On July 20, 1999, Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), initiated a nationwide persecution campaign against Falun Dafa. The brutality of the persecution was unprecedented internationally. I was eight years old at the time and thought: “How could the CCP persecute Falun Dafa? Why are the media outlets spreading propaganda?” I did not watch the news anymore since I realized that all the media outlets were lying and that Chinese people were being deceived. Since then I’ve always thought: “If I had been an adult, I would have gone to Beijing to validate Dafa.” Though it might have meant putting my life in danger, I was still willing to do it. I wanted to seek justice for Master and Dafa.
Fearless and Calm While Validating Dafa
I enrolled in a foreign language school after graduating from middle school at age 15 in 2006. I was very diligent during this time and did the three things well. I remember putting a whole stack of truth clarification flyers in my backpack before going to school one day and distributing flyers to 50 classmates. I told them the truth about the CCP’s persecution and that Falun Dafa is good.
One of my classmates reported me to our head teacher. The head teacher was quite unhappy and said, “You practice Falun Dafa? Do you know that Falun Dafa is not good? Who else in your family practices Falun Dafa?” I was not scared and kept silently sending righteous thoughts. I told the teacher solemnly, “Falun Dafa teaches us to become better. The CCP is slandering Dafa.” The teacher was very unhappy and left. I was proud of myself for standing up for Falun Dafa and telling my classmates and teachers the truth behind the persecution.
Though I may have been young, I was quite diligent. I often studied the Fa and had strong righteous thoughts. I did not have many sentimental attachments and always treated everything with compassion. I would do the fifth meditation exercise for two hours every night after my roommates had fallen asleep. I felt that I entered into a state of tranquility and did not feel my legs. It was like what Master describes in Zhuan Falun. I felt very wonderful and comfortable as though I was sitting inside an eggshell.
Master said,
“Dafa Disciples’ Righteous Thoughts are Powerful” (“Dafa Disciples’ Righteous Thoughts are Powerful,” Essentials for Further Advancement II)
I did not understand what Master meant in the beginning. It was not until later that I realized that Dafa disciple’s righteous thoughts are very important. Our school conducted a ceremony every Monday where they raised the evil communist flag. While conducting the ceremony, everyone would sing the CCP anthem. I refused to sing the anthem and kept sending righteous thoughts. The evil flag seemed to get stuck on the pole and was unable reach the top. The principal decided to cancel the ceremony, and I was very happy. I knew that my righteous thoughts had worked! From then on, I realized that a cultivator’s righteous thoughts can restrain evil.
I have met with many obstacles during the course of my cultivation and I understand that nothing is accidental.
Master said,
“Those ordeals and the suffering, no matter how great or harsh you find them to be, are good things, because they take place solely on account of your cultivation.” (“Fa Teaching at the 2008 New York Conference,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. VIII)
I had a lot pimples on my forehead one year. It was so bad that people would tell me to go to the doctor for a check up. I cared about my appearance so the pimples on my face were a nuisance. I began to have human notions and went to a doctor of Chinese medicine to treat my pimples. The doctors prescribed many medications. After taking them, my pimples became even worse and I felt drowsy all day.
I realized that instead of being a cultivator, I had regarded myself as a ordinary person. I remembered a section of Master’s lecture in Zhuan Falun.
Master said,
“To tell a joke, young ladies always like to apply facial makeup and want to make their complexion fairer and better. I would say that if you truly follow a cultivation practice of mind and body, you will naturally achieve that goal. It is guaranteed that you will not need to use cosmetics.” (Lecture Five, Zhuan Falun)
I decided to listen to Master. I threw away all of the medications and persisted in practicing the exercises. While practicing the second standing exercise one day, I felt that all of my pimples disappeared and my forehead became fairer. I thought it was a miracle! Many of my friends later asked me what had happened and were surprised that I didn’t have any scars from the pimples.
I regarded myself as a cultivator and was able to treat everything with a heart of compassion. I learned to look inward and upgraded my {{xinxing} whenever I encountered tribulations. I adhered to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and harmonized with Dafa.
Master said,
“If you are a student you should study well.” (Teachings at the Conference in Houston)
Therefore, in addition to doing the three things well, I was also a hardworking student. When my classmates went to internet cafes to watch television and play games during the weekends, I stayed at school to study. The principal even praised me in front of the whole school for being the only student who studied during the weekends. He told them that I was an exemplary student.
A public speaking contest was held at my school and I was picked as one of the contestants. I managed to get into the semi-finals and finals. About 2000 teachers and students were present that day and I was quite nervous. After stepping up to the podium and thinking about how Dafa practitioners are the protagonists in this world, I became very confident. My nervousness instantaneously disappeared and I spoke with much confidence and did very well. I was very calm when the teachers asked me questions and they thought highly of me. When the teachers announced that I had received first place, everyone in the auditorium applauded.
At that moment I understood that Master was encouraging me for clarifying the truth at school. I used to be very shy in class, so being able to make a speech in front of 2000 people was truly unbelievable. I became more cheerful and confident in life after winning first place in the public speaking contest. I knew that Master was encouraging me to become more diligent in cultivation.
Thank you, great, benevolent Master, for unlocking my wisdom! Thank you, Master!
Master Telling Me: There Isn’t Enough Time
Many years ago, when I was diligent in cultivation, I had a dream about Master. Master was coming toward my house and many people were around me. It was too noisy and I could not make out what Master was saying. I only heard Master said solemnly, “There isn’t enough time! There isn’t enough time!”
The dream felt real and I told my mother about it. My mother said that Master was enlightening me to seize the time in cultivation. I suddenly remembered sections of Master’s lectures after discussing the dream with my mother.
Master said,
“If you’ve fallen don’t just lie there, get up right away!” (Teachings Given on Lantern Festival Day, 2003)
“So you’ve got to seize the day. During this last period of time before it ends you really don’t want to let yourselves down, and you should do the last things well.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the Metropolitan New York Fa Conference,” Collected Teachings Given Around the WorldVolume III)
“I keep prolonging this time to give it to you and have you do things quickly!” (“Fa Teaching at the 2016 New York Fa Conference”)
“The truth is, I treasure you more than you treasure yourselves!” (“Eliminate Your Last Attachment(s),” Essentials for Further Advancement II)
Great and compassionate Master has been giving Dafa disciples more opportunities in cultivation.
Many sentient beings our age are still yet to be saved. Doesn’t this mean that we should do even better at clarifying the truth? I would like to take this opportunity to say something to Dafa disciples my age: “We need to validate the Fa by clarifying the truth, assisting Master in Fa-rectification and fulfilling our historic vows. Otherwise, how could we face ourselves on the day of consummation? Perhaps if there was truly not enough time, it would be truly like what Master said.
Master said,
“Those who won’t be able to Consummate, when that day comes all you can do is just sit there and sob! Eliminating Attachments and Deleting WeChat and TikTok
Minghui.org reminded Falun Dafa practitioners to uninstall spyware like WeChat, QQ, TikTok, Kwai, and others in 2018. Falun Dafa practitioners should not only uninstall the applications mentioned above, we should also delete other Chinese applications like Youku, iQiyi, Tencent Video and QQ Music.
WeChat and TikTok are applications controlled by the evil CCP. These applications hook people into a virtual world that wastes a lot of time. The old forces wish to use this method to stop us from studying the Fa. We need to be strict with ourselves. I decided to uninstall these applications and listen to Master.
During the process of uninstalling these applications, many attachments like showing off, zealotry and jealousy surfaced. I felt that my dimension was cleared of negative substances after those applications were removed. I was able to meditate in tranquility, study the Fa more and become more like a cultivator. Only by believing in Master and believing in the Fa can we walk well on the last leg of cultivation.
I have been protected by Master from a young age and have matured in cultivation. I will not let you down, Master. Young Falun Dafa practitioners from China will be worthy of your compassionate salvation. We will study the Fa more and study the Fa well. We will abide by your teachings and be more diligent! We will do the three things well, save more sentient beings, catch up with the progress of Fa-rectification and completely eliminate our human attachments, notions, emotions, desires and negative thoughts. We will assimilate to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and strive forward diligently to be worthy of the title of Dafa disciple. We will fulfill our historic vows and return home with Master.
I am very grateful to Master for his compassionate salvation!
