(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 10 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Tang Huafeng is being held in the No.6 Ward of Shanxi Province Women’s Prison, which is called the “restricted-control ward.” Because she refused to be brainwashed, Ms. Tang was fined.
Li Wenhua (gender unknown), over 60, was followed while distributing truth-clarifying materials. Li was arrested and Li’s home was ransacked on March 29, 2022.
Liu Yun (gender unknown) from Ningqiang County was arrested in late March 2022. The police ransacked Liu’s home. Liu was released later that day.
Ms. Qu Xiaorong was arrested the day after Liu Yun was arrested. Her home was ransacked. She was released later that day.
Ms. Wang Jinyun was sentenced to four years in prison in 2014 for practicing Falun Gong. She was released in 2018. Her pension has been suspended since November 2020. She filed a lawsuit to have her pension reinstated but the case was dismissed. She appealed to the Xi’an Railway Transportation Intermediate Court but the original judgment was upheld.
Mr. Xu Dewu from Xinbin County is being held in the Jinzhou City Prison. He called his family recently and told them that he was forced to work in the prison from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day. Because of the epidemic, the detainees are not allowed visitors but they are allowed to call their family once a month.
Three officers from the Sui’an Police Station in Yingshan County went to the home of Tang Suqing (gender unknown) on March 28, 2022. They confiscated more than 40 Falun Gong books, DVDs, etc.
Mr. Zhang Qingxing was sentenced to three years in prison. He was taken to the No.4 Prison in Jidong on February 18, 2022.
Ms. Yu Xiuhua from the Muping District was arrested by officers from the Wenhua Road Police Station in the Muping District around 4 p.m. on March 28, 2022, for distributing a booklet called “Stories on How to Stay Safe During the Epidemic.” Her husband and her son were also taken to the police station. Her home was ransacked. The police confiscated, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, a copy of Zhuan Falun, several Falun Gong books, lectures given by Falun Gong’s founder on cassette tapes, two sets of Falun Gong lecture videos, copies of Minghui Weekly, etc. Her son’s PC was also taken away.
All three were released around midnight.
Ms. Cao Hongmei from Li County was arrested by officers from the Xinxing Town Police Station in Li County for talking about Falun Gong in a market on March 20, 2022. Five officers went to her home that afternoon. They didn’t find anything related to Falun Gong. Ms. Cao was released around 7 p.m.
