(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 16 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ma. Shi Jianhua was reported to the police for distributing Falun Gong materials. She was arrested at her home by officers from the High-tech Zone Police Department at 9 p.m. on June 6, 2022. The officers ransacked her home.
Li Lianqing (gender unknown) from Yangwu Village, Huangzhuang Town, was arrested by staff members of the comprehensive management office while talking to people about Falun Gong at the Huangzhuang Town farmers market on the morning of June 6, 2022. Li was taken to the Huangzhuang Town Police Station.
When Ms. Wang Yuhua opened the door to head out to work, officer Xian Baojia, from the Chuncheng Street Police Station, and a property management staff member pushed into her home and ransacked the place on the morning of May 24, 2022. They confiscated several Falun Gong books, and then took Ms. Wang to the police station for interrogation. She was released after 10 p.m. that night.
Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started the “Zero-out Campaign” against Falun Gong practitioners, Ms. Liu Shujuan has been harassed over the phone by officers from the local Kuangshan Police Station and Zhang Jiaqing, a member of the Laotun Village Committee in the Kuangshan Sub-district. Sometimes they would come to her home. They also called to harass Ms. Liu’s family. When they pressured Ms. Liu to sign paperwork, she refused.
Recently, Zhang Jiaqing made another phone call to Ms. Liu Shujuan’s family and threatened them that Ms. Liu’s failure to cooperate in their “Zero-out Campaign” would affect her children’s school enrollment. This has seriously disrupted the normal life of Ms. Liu and her family.
Ms. Zhang Xia was placed in criminal detention by officers from the Pingyuan County Police Department at 10 a.m. on May 4, 2022. She has been held in the Dezhou City Detention Center for over one month. The case against her was turned over to the procuratorate.
Wang Dan, an official of the No. 8 Brigade in Wenjing Township, Xinjin District, went to 77-year-old Ms. Zhu Sufang’s home on May 7, 2022, and photographed her.
Around 10 a.m. on May 16, Xie Chuanqun, women’s director of Huabei Village, in Anxi Town, Xinjin District, and others went to Ms. Wang Shuihua’s house and told her not to go out to distribute Falun Gong materials.
Song Jiaxi, head of the Xindu District Domestic Security Division, directed subordinate police stations to arrest more than twelve Falun Gong practitioners in the Xiangdu District in a coordinated campaign on September 22, 2021. They ransacked the practitioners’ homes, and confiscated several computers, printers, Falun Gong books, and other personal belongings. Most of the practitioners were released that evening, and some were released a few days later.
By March 2022, Mr. Wu Chunnian and Ms. Xin Xiangfen were placed under residential surveillance for six months. The cases against them were turned over to the Xiangdu District Procuratorate. On March 24, Mr. Wu and Ms. Xin received a call from Cheng Cuizhu and others from the Procuratorate, who wanted to get an update on their situation. On June 2, the Xiangdu District Court changed the status of Mr. Wu and Ms. Xin to “released on bail for twelve months.”
Three officers from the Tangwu Town Police Station and two members of the town government in Changle County broke into the home of Ms. Han Guixin, who was in her 70s, in Lunjiabupo Village, on May 12, 2022. They asked her if she still practiced Falun Gong. They then took photos, and took away a truth-clarification booklet named “Golden Seeds.”
Liu Furui and Wang Antai (genders unknown) from Songshan Town, Linqu County, were reported to the police while talking to people about Falun Gong and distributing amulets in a tourist area on June 4, 2022. They were arrested and taken to a police station for interrogation. The officers ransacked their homes and confiscated Falun Gong books, TV antennas, and amulets. After failing the physical examinations, they were taken home that night.
At noon on June 6, Chen Xuezeng, from the Linqu County Domestic Security Division, led officers from the police station to the homes of Mr. Wang Deqing and Mr. Wang Xingjian. They ransacked the places and confiscated Mr. Wang Deqing’s TV antenna, as well as Mr. Wang Xingjian’s past issues of Minghui Weekly and printed materials. The two practitioners returned home that afternoon.
Ms. Xu Guihua was reported to the police while talking to people about Falun Gong in the Panlongcheng area on June 3, 2022. She was arrested and her home was ransacked by officers from the Panlongcheng Economic Development Zone Police Station. The officers then called her son and told him to accompany Ms. Xu to the hospital for a physical examination. Ms. Xu’s blood pressure was too high, and the detention center refused to admit her. She went home at around 1 a.m. that night.
Ms. Tian Xiufen, 75, was arrested and interrogated by officers from the Shangchengzi Police Station in Longtan District in January 2022 for distributing Falun Gong materials. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated all of her Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, and some printed materials.
The officers later asked Ms. Tian’s son and daughter to sign a statement to guarantee that Ms. Tian would no longer practice Falun Gong, and to pay a deposit of 5,000 yuan in exchange for her not being taken to the detention center. Ms. Tian’s children were afraid that their mother could not bear the harsh situation in the detention center, and they did what as the officers asked. Ms. Tian was released on bail. The case against her case was turned over to the procuratorate. Her daughter took her to the procuratorate and signed the paperwork for her.
