(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 19 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Baiyin City, Gansu Province] Ms. Li Fenglan Detained

Ms. Li Fenglan of the Pingchuan District was summoned to the Baiyin Court on September 6, 2022. The next day his family received an arrest warrant delivered by officers Wang Shizheng and Wang Chaobiao from the Pingchuan County Domestic Security Division. They then learned that he was detained. They inquired around and finally learned that he was detained in the Baiyin Detention Center.

2. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Long Youshi Sentenced

Ms. Long Youshi of the Kaifu District, 70, was arrested when she just stepped out of her home in November 2021. She was taken to the Changsha City No. 4 Detention Center. She was sentenced to three years in prison in July 2022.

3. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yang Kuanfen Arrested

Ms. Yang Kuanfen, nearly 70, talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in an open market on September 2, 2022. A plainclothes officer noticed her, grabbed her arm, and dragged her forward. She fell. The officer grabbed her hand and continued to drag her forward without stopping. With his other hand he pulled out his phone and called for reinforcement. A police car came. Ms. Yang was taken to the city’s Domestic Security Division. The officers learned she was in the late stages of cancer, but recovered after she practiced Falun Gong. She was released an hour later.

4. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Ran Detained

Ms. Wang Ran, in her 70s, distributed Falun Gong flyers in the Zhengyue Community on the evening of September 8, 2022. Someone reported her. She was arrested and is being held in the Hanan Police Station.

5. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Practitioners Harassed

Officers from the Hanting District Police Department and the Gaoli Police Station harassed practitioners living in Shuangyang Village, Sunjia Village, Hujia Village, and Dingjia Village on August 26, 2022. They went to practitioners’ homes, threatened them, and ransacked their homes. Some officers seized practitioners’ pictures of Falun Gong’s founder, music players which contained the exercise music, Zhuan Falun and other Falun Gong books. The CCP secretary of Dingjia Village led officers to Ms. Chen Xiangfen’s home, seized 2 copies of Zhuan Falun, a copy of Hong Yin XI, two music players, and a desk calendar. They tore down Falun Gong drawings hanging on the wall and took them away.

6. [Beijing] Ms. Jiang Xiaoping Detained

Ms. Jiang Xiaoping was arrested at home by officers from the Huairou Police Department after 8:00 p.m. on September 9, 2022. Her home was ransacked. She is being held in the Huairou Detention Center.

7. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Guihua Detained

Ms. Wang Guihua of the Xiangfang District, in her 70s, was arrested in the Zhengyue Community in the Nangang District on the evening of September 8, 2022. Someone reported that she was distributing Falun Gong flyers. She is being held in the Hanan Police Station.

8. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Mr. Jiang Ziyi Arrested

Mr. Jiang Ziyi was arrested by three officers from the Xinghua Police Station on the afternoon of July 20, 2022, when he talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

His son worried the officers would search his home so he decided to move his Falun Gong books and other materials to other place. But he was arrested and taken to the police station by officers waiting nearby. The officers seized 14 or 15 copies of Zhuan Falun, seven or eight copies of recent writings by Falun Gong’s founder, around 200 copies of books written by the founder, seven or eight U-drives containing Falun Gong information, and other items.

9. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Dachun Arrested

Ms. Dachun from Jinzhou City is working in Dalian City. She was arrested on September 12, 2022, when she talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

10. [Cangxi County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Huang Qunhui Detained

Ms. Huang Qunhui was arrested at her home by agents from the Cangxi County 610 Office and officers from the Domestic Security Division and the Dongqing Police Station on the afternoon of September 6, 2022. They ransacked her home and found a Falun Gong pamphlet. They took her partially paralyzed husband to a nursing home and imprisoned her in the Guangyuan City Women’s Detention Center that night.

11. [Xiangcheng City, Henan Province] Ms. Xia Dongmei Detained

Ms. Xia Dongmei was arrested by officers from the Xiangcheng City Domestic Security Division at the beginning of 2022. She just returned to Xiangcheng City from Xian City, Shaanxi Province where she took care of her elderly bedridden father. She is being held in the Xiangcheng City Detention Center.

12. [Wugong County, Shaanxi Province] Zhang Fangge and Gao Baoyan Detained

Zhang Fangge was detained for 15 days and was released on September 8, 2022. Gao Baoyan was arrested by officer Ma Chen and others from the Dazhuang Township Police Station. Gao’s home was ransacked. Gao is being held in a detention center.

13. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Hong Detained

Ms. Wang Hong, 54, was arrested at home by officers from the Dongfengdajia Police Station on September 13, 2022, right after she came home from work. She is being held in the police station. Her family went to the police station to appeal for her release. But the officers did not release her or explain why she was arrested.

14. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Zhang Shuhua and Ma Changqing Detained

Zhang Shuhua and Ma Changqing are held in Changchun Brainwashing Center

15. [Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhao Bo Faces Indictment

Mr. Zhao Bo of Mishan City was released on bail pending trial for eighteen months. Police did not close his case at the end of the pending period even though they did not submit his case to procuratorate. However, they recently submitted his case to the procuratorate.

16. [Chongqing] Ms. Tang Chengbi Arrested

Ms. Tang Chengbi was arrested at work by officer Chen Dunwei and two others from the Pingqiao Police Station after 4:00 p.m. on August 29, 2022. The officers ransacked her home after 8:00 p.m. They seized a picture of Falun Gong’s founder, a copy of the founder’s recent writings, and a Falun Gong keepsake. She was taken to the police station, handcuffed, and fastened to a tiny metal bed for the night. Officer Gao Lijun and other from the Domestic Security Division interrogated her the next morning. She did not cooperate. She was released after 4:00 p.m. the next day.

17. [Xinbin County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Huang Xizhen Arrested

Ms. Huang Xizhen of Xinbin County was held in the Hefei City Railway Station in Anhui Province after 5:00 p.m. on August 15, 2022, after officers found a Falun Gong music player and several keepsakes in her carry-on luggage during a security check. The officers searched her son’s home and her daughter’s home, but found nothing. She was released after 9:00 p.m.
