(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 5 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 9 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Li Miaozhu was arrested at her home by over 10 officers from the Puning City Police Department and the Daba Town Police Station on December 13, 2022. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, a cell phone, and an electric bicycle. Ms. Li is being held in Puning City Detention Center.
Mr. Wei Qingjun and his wife Ms. Meng Qinglan were recently arrested by secretary Qi Yu of the Panjin City Political and Legal Affairs Committee, officers from the Huibin Police Station and domestic security officers. The couple’s home was ransacked.
In April 2019, more than twelve people, including commissar Mu Chaoheng and domestic security officers from the Jiangjin District Police Department, went to Ms. Yang Zhilian’s home to arrest her husband, Mr. Wang Xian’an. Mr. Wang was not at home at the time. He left and was unable to return home.
Over the past few years, the police have continuously harassed Ms. Yang’s family. Since April 2022, officers have been to her home five or six times to harass her. They used the so-called “zero-out”campaign and “20th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party” as excuses, and told Ms. Yang and her mother to call Mr. Wang and ask him to come back. These people never showed their IDs or paperwork, and acted rudely and arrogantly.
In August, these people also went to the home of Ms. Yang’s daughter, who also lives in Chongqing, to harass her. They suspected that Mr. Wang was there and attempted to arrest him. The harassment has brought significant psychological pressure and mental blow to Ms. Yang’s family and her daughter’s family, especially to the elderly family members.
In mid-April 2022, Hua Qingbo (gender unknown) was suspended by school officials on the same day when Hua presented the facts of the staged Tiananmen self-immolation case to students. Hua was arrested on July 12, detained for 15 days, and fined 1,000 yuan.
After being released, Hua stayed at home. When the new school year started in September, the school officials refused to arrange for Hua to teach classes. Hua was only allowed to assist other teachers.
Three officers from the Wuchong’an Town Police Station went to Ms. Wang Gui’e’s home in Hezhuang Village on the pretext of conducting a follow-up visit on the morning of December 8, 2022. They opened and searched cabinets and boxes in her home.
Three officers from the Wuchong’an Town Police Station went to Ms. Wu Guizhi’s home in the Caoguzhuang Village on the pretext of conducting a follow-up visit on the morning of December 8, 2022. They confiscated over 40 Falun Gong books, over 10 calendars, and several issues of Minghui Weekly. They took Ms. Wu to the police station and pressured her to sign three printed forms, which she refused. She was subsequently released.
