(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 3 provinces, where at least 8 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Nie Jingxia was arrested by three plainclothes officers in front of her clothing shop on the morning of September 4, 2023. Twelve people ransacked her shop, as well as her apartment. Ms. Nie is currently held in the Xiangxi Detention Center.
Ms. Wang Yonghua and Ms. Zhang Maoxia were arrested at the home of Ms. Wang Yonghua’s son in Binhai New District in early July 2023. They were sent to the Binhai New District Detention Center.
Ms. Wu Fengzhen from Wulihe Town of Yongji County, 68, was sentenced to two years in prison with three years of probation.
Mr. Wang Youbin from Changping District has been under residential surveillance since September 28, 2023.
Three people, including officer Huang Li, went to Ms. Huang Yuanqiao’s home on September 7, 2023. Huang wore a body camera, and another person used a cell phone to record the conversation. Ms. Huang was asked whether she had plans to travel out of town.
Ms. Zheng Linghua from Yong’an Town, Beichuan County, was sentenced to one year in prison in 2007 and three years in prison in 2010. She was fired from her job as a teacher. Her pension was stopped during her detention. She has been repeatedly harassed.
Her daughter received harassing phone calls from Yong’an Town government staff members in early August 2023, demanding to know Ms. Zheng’s cell phone number.
Twelve people including Yin Shunyao, head of the Chengdu City Political and Legal Affairs Committee, Yin’s colleague Zheng Xue and Feng Li, and Liu Yan from the Qingyang District Police Department, went to Ms. Tu Qiwei’s home on the morning of September 20, 2023. Zheng Xue said the higher authorities ordered them to sort out practitioners in three months. Ms. Tu was pressured to sign a guarantee statement. She refused.
