(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 30 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Gu Jinfen, 66, was reported to the police in April or May 2023 when she talked to people about Falun Gong. She was arrested by officers from the Beishan Street Police Station and was released soon after.
A few days later, procuratorate personnel contacted Ms. Gu and told her that charges were brought up against her. She did not cooperate, and she left home. As soon as she returned home, Ms. Gu was arrested and sentenced to prison. On October 1, 2023, Ms. Gu passed away in Changchun Women’s Prison.
Ms. Zhao Yukun was arrested on August 14, 2022. She was released on bail.
On May 12, 2023, Ms. Zhao was arrested and she was sentenced to three years in prison. Ms. Zhao was not present during the trial.
Ms. Wang Guili was taken to the No. 14 Ward in Hebei Province Women’s Prison on November 2, 2023.
Ms. Feng Fengyun from Changyi District was sentenced to four years in prison and fined 6,000 yuan on August 31, 2023.
On the morning of September 14, 2023, police from the Decheng District Domestic Security Division, in collaboration with officers from the East Xinhe Road Police Station, the Hubin North Road Police Station and several other police stations, arrested Zhao Yucai, Zhang Wenyan, Liu Yanhua, Liu Yuling, Ran Hongxia, Wang Chunfang, Liu Huilan, Lu Xiuming, and a male practitioner from a work unit known as the No. 13 Department. The officers took the practitioners to the Dezhou Detention Center. They also ransacked the homes of Ms. Liu Guixiang and several other practitioners. Ms. Liu was not taken to the detention center due to her poor health.
On October 10, Cheng Bi’s home was searched and Cheng was taken to a detention center and held for 15 days.
On the morning of October 14, the male practitioner from the No. 13 Department, along with Wang Chunfang, Wang Aijun, Ran Hongxia, and Liu Huilan were released.
In late October, Zhao Yucai, Liu Yanhua, Zhang Wenyan, Lu Xiuming, among others, were officially arrested.
Mr. He Ziguang, 76, from Zhucheng City, was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong. Hao Xiaojun from Zhucheng City Domestic Security Division and Ju Jinji from the Huanghua Police Station compiled his case in preparation for prosecution. Mr. He was told that the would be tried on October 8, 2023.
To avoid persecution, Mr. He left home. The No. 5 Tribunal of Zhucheng Court called his daughter-in-law and asked her to contact the police to locate Mr. He.
Officer Xiao from the Yangjiaqiao Town Police Station broke into 83-year-old Ms. Luo Xuemei’s home on the morning of October 30, 2023, and asked her to go to the Xiangtan County Police Department for a talk. Ms. Luo refused to comply.
The next morning, officer Xiao and a woman broke into Ms. Luo’s home again and asked her to go to the county police department, and she sternly refused to go.
Ms. Wu Guixiang was arrested on August 11, 2023. The Qingyang Police Station detained her for two weeks. When they released her on bail, they demanded her family use her parents’ house as collateral.
Even though the bail was paid, officers from the Qingyang Police Station did not stop persecuting Ms. Wu. They continued to compile materials in preparation for prosecuting her. They have recently submitted her case to the Dengta City Procuratorate.
The Shulan City Court placed Ms. Liu Minjie and Ms. Jiang Yanping on trial on October 26. Ms. Liu returned home and was placed under residential surveillance. Ms. Jiang is still being held in custody.
Ms. Zhao Fuyun from Wangpo Township was reported to the police by a villager when she distributed Falun Gong materials in Nanjiaopo Village on November 4, 2023. Based on surveillance camera footage, village officials identified the license plate number, which belonged to her daughter. They reported the case to the Nandian Police Station. Officers from the police station asked Ms. Zhao’s daughter and son-in-law to bring Ms. Zhao to the police station at 9 a.m. on November 6. They also took a copy of Zhuan Falun from her home.
In mid-May 2023, Ms. Wang Ping, also known as Li Yu, was handcuffed and taken away by the police from her rented home. Her whereabouts are still unknown.
In August 2023, Ms. Wang’s son and brother realized she was missing and looked for her everywhere. In late September, they reported Ms. Wang’s disappearance to the police station where her residence registration was on file, as well as the police station where she rented her apartment. Both stations directed her family to go to the other police station, and they both refused to look into the situation.
Mr. Guo Shuxue’s retirement salary has been withheld for more than two years. Mr. Guo repeatedly contacted the Yushu City Social Security Department asked for his pension, but they refused to give it to him. They would not even give him basic living expenses. They told Mr. Guo to have his former work unit to handle the issue.
Ms. Ma Guixian, Ms. Liu Shufan, Ms. Liu Shufen, Ms. Jiang Kaiying, Mr. Yuan Enzhu, and Ms. Zhang Shuqin were taken to a detention center. The other practitioners have returned home.
Ms. Hu Shuiying, 71, was arrested and taken to Nanchang City No. 1 Detention Center by Domestic Security Division officers on the afternoon of August 3, 2023. It was recently reported that Ms. Hu will be tried in the Xihu District Court on November 10.
Ms. Ning Zhonghua was arrested by police who staked out downstairs at her apartment building on November 1, 2023.
Mr. Li Yitang was fired from his job at the Weifang Power Plant because he practices Falun Gong. In October 2022, Mr. Li was arrested by officers from Jiangsu Province. On October 26, 2023, he was again arrested in Weifang City, Shandong Province, by officers from Jiangsu Province.
