(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 18 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Gong Lijuan from Wengniute Banner was arrested in March or April 2023. She was held in the Wengniute Banner Detention Center for six months.
Ms. Gao Fengqin was arrested on October 26, 2023. Her home was ransacked. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
Yang Defang (gender unknown) from the No. 5 Economic Development Zone was arrested by Chaoyang District Police Department officers when Yang distributed informational materials about Falun Gong on the morning of November 29, 2023. Several other practitioners were also arrested.
Xin Guangqin (gender unknown) lives in Yincheng Town, Xiajin County, Dezhou City. Xin’s home was ransacked by five police officers on October 20, 2021. They confiscated a Falun Gong book, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, and an exercise card. Xin was later taken to the Dezhou City Detention Center three times in three days, but each time the guards refused to admit Xin due to his or her high blood pressure. The police forced Xin to press his or her fingerprint on a guarantee statement that they prepared before they released Xin.
The police photographed Xin after he or she was released and began harassing Xin once a month. In 2023, the police went to his or her home every three months to take a photo. They also arranged for people to follow Xin when he or she went out.
Ms. Jiang Zhihui, 68, from Xinbin County was arrested around 4 p.m. on December 2, 2023.
Ms. Geng Shufeng was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong and was arrested by Sandongqiao Police Station officers on the morning of December 2, 2023.
Mr. Liu Wang was recorded by surveillance cameras when he distributed truth clarifying materials in a residential community on the evening of September 16, 2023. Five officers including He Jian, the deputy of the Bayi Street Police Station, arrested him the next day. His home was ransacked. The police confiscated 46 Falun Gong books and 11 currency bills with Falun Gong facts printed on them. Mr. Liu was interrogated in the police station and admitted to the Pingxiang City Detention House that evening. He was detained for 15 days and released on October 2, 2023.
Ms. Zhang Jie, 50, was arrested by officers including Liu Lei and Wang Haichen from the Huayuan Village Police Station in the Jiangbei District at the back gate of the Cuihai Langyuan Residential Community at 7 p.m. on September 6, 2023.
Ms. Yu Shuzhi from Xinli Village was harassed by three officers from the Jianye Township Police Station at 1 p.m. on November 28, 2023. They confiscated an entire set of Falun Gong books. Ms. Hao Xiulan, who was visiting Ms. Yu, was arrested. Her family paid 5000 yuan to bail her out.
Ms. Zhang Lixia from the Jinfeng District was arrested on November 1, 2023. Her home was ransacked. She was detained for 15 days.
Ms. Xie Huizhou from Zengtong Village was harassed at home by two officers from the Tuchengzi Township Police Station in the Changyi District on December 2, 2023. One officer talked to her while the other one photographed her.
Mr. Tang Xifu from the No.1 Branch of Hongguang Farm was arrested by officers from the Baiyilaga Township Police Station at the end of November 2023. He was released later due to his high blood pressure. Ms. Zhang Shuxia was harassed at home.
Ms. Yuan Chunxiang, 64, was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong near Anmin Town and was arrested by Sidaogou Police Station officers on November 17, 2023.
Ms. Gang Yalin was arrested on September 14, 2012, for distributing truth clarifying materials in Fumeng County and was detained for seven months in the Fuxin City Detention Center. Her case was dropped by the Mongolian Autonomous County Procuratorate and she was released on April 10, 2013.
Ms. Liu Xiufeng was harassed at home by two officers at 3 p.m. on November 16, 2023. They asked for her phone number and wanted to photograph her. She refused to cooperate.
