(Minghui.org) It was recently confirmed by Minghui.org that Ms. Jia Qiongying from Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, was harassed multiple times in 2022 for practicing Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
When Ms. Jia went to a community fair in Zoujiachang Township on January 3, 2022, she was arrested by officers from the Jinma Town Police Station. The police and community worker Hu Xuecheng ransacked her home. No Falun Gong materials were found. She was released around 1 a.m.,
Ms. Jia noticed a minivan parked near her home the next day. She talked to the two people sitting inside and asked if they were monitoring her. They denied it but admitted that they were working (while sitting in the car). Ms. Jia clarified the facts about Falun Gong and persuaded them to quit the Chinese Communist Party. Before they left, they said the police told them to come every day from Monday to Friday. Ms. Jia never saw them again.
Community worker Hu and seven unidentified officers raided Ms. Jia’s home again on the morning of July 5, 2022, and confiscated a portrait of Falun Gong’s founder. After Ms. Jia was taken to the Hesheng Police Station, a woman threatened to sentence her to five years, drive her family to commit suicide, fine her daughter 7,000 yuan and tear her family apart.
Because Ms. Jia was found to have high blood pressure during the required physical examination before being admitted to the detention center, she was released around midnight. It’s not clear whether the authorities harassed her again after that.
Before Ms. Jia began practicing Falun Gong in 1996 she had a medical conditions in her legs that made walking difficult. But shortly after she began practicing Falun Gong, she regained her health and found the true meaning of life.
Since the onset of the persecution in 1999, Ms. Jia remained firm in practicing Falun Gong and was arrested multiple times for raising awareness about the persecution. Her other arrest was in June 2016 while distributing Falun Gong materials. She refused to answer the police officers’ questions and was released in the afternoon.
