(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 15 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Liang Shuzhi was tried in the Liaozhong Court on the morning of February 8, 2023. She insisted she was innocent. Her lawyer submitted a not-guilty plea. The court did not pronounce a judgment, but the judge said she would be sentenced to a prison term, either probation or immediate arrest and be sent to jail.
Ms. Liu Guijie, Ms. Wang Li, and other practitioners went out around February 6, 2023 but did not return. Their families received calls from the Gongzhuling Police Station on February 8, and were told that the practitioners were detained for 13 days.
Xu Fengying, Xian Suxian, Zhang Churong, and Yang Junzhi were arrested on February 8, 2023, by officers from the Domestic Security Division and the Malin Police Station in Yuhuang Village, Yuanbaoshan Town. The practitioners are being held in the Pingzhuang Detention Center.
Ms. Chen Yufeng of the Dadong District was arrested at 7:30 p.m. on February 9, 2023.
Liu Zhimei will be tried on February 6, 2023.
Ms. Yang Yingheng received a call from the Shizhong Police Station on the morning of December 19, 2022. The officer ordered her to report to the police station and said, “You put Falun Gong flyers in the shops along Wuxing Street. We have surveillance videos as evidence. Either you admit to it or we will search your home for more evidence.”
Six officers from the Shizhong Police Station and the Datong Police Station ransacked her home. They had a locksmith open her door, and seized copies of the Minghui Weekly publication and over 170 yuan in paper currency imprinted with Falun Gong messages. They claimed they would detain her for ten days but would not execute it now.
Ms. Qiu Jiaxiu of Zhucheng City was arrested by officer Hao Xiaojun and others from the Domestic Security Division on January 28, 2023, after someone said that she had distributed Falun Gong flyers in Bukou Village. She was first held in the Gaoxin Police Station, then in the Xinghualu Police Station. Officers ransacked her home, seized all of her Falun Gong books, and confiscated her electric bike. She was released for medical reasons, but was told to be available at any time.
Mr. Sun Yuanlong and Mr. Zhang Bowu of Tangshan City work and live in the Shunyi District of Beijing. Local officers had a “conversation” with them on January 6, 2023.
They were arrested in 2022 and were released on bail pending trial for a year. The Shunyi police revoked the decision on February 8, 2023, after the term ended. The police still have three of their Falun Gong books and a photo of Falun Gong’s founder.
Mr. Liu Haixiong of the Xingqing District was arrested at home on the morning of February 8, 2023, by six officers from the Xingqing District Police Department and the Yangehu Police Station. The officers ransacked his home and took him to the police department. He was released at around 4:00 p.m. the same day.
Mr. Kuang Xiaochun noticed two police cars parked near his apartment building when he was heading home at around 11:00 a.m. on February 7, 2023. About ten officers and community clerks got out of the cars with handcuffs. They went to his apartment and pounded on the door, but no one was at home. They went to his wife's brother’s home on the fourth floor of the same building, and demanded he call them immediately if Mr. Kuang returned. They waited there for about two hours.
