(Minghui.org) In the winter of 2010, several policemen and 610 Office agents broke into my house, ransacked the place, and arrested me. They seemed very pleased with themselves, joking and laughing. After they locked me in a cell, they went out for a celebratory meal.
The director of the police station and the director of the city’s 610 Office were part of the group that arrested me. I later learned they had been busy collecting “evidence” to frame me. Over a dozen people had been working on my case for over 10 days.
They tried to get my fingerprints in the backyard of the police station. It took them a long time, because I refused to cooperate. They then pricked my finger for a blood test, took pictures of me, and signed some documents, since I refused to sign anything.
I was taken to a detention center and refused to wear the detainee’s uniform. Every day, I cleaned the common areas and the director’s office. Regardless of whether they were male or female, management or staff, I clarified the truth and tried to persuade them to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its youth organizations. For those who had never joined the CCP, I told them to remember, “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.”
I had blood in my stool for a few days and lost my appetite. We were only given steamed buns to eat, and I had to pay if I needed anything else. However, they still told my family to pay 500 yuan for “boarding” expenses.
An elderly woman and I were the only ones left in our cell one morning, and she was leaving after being detained for five days. After I finished my work, I sat in the courtyard and did the sitting meditation. I felt someone was watching me. When I opened my eyes, I saw several men standing by the male cells watching me.
The courtyard is not big. There are two rows of houses (cells) on the north and south side and a shared small courtyard in the middle. There is a small corridor on one side leading to the director’s office and the larger yard. When I finished meditating, I got up, and two men came over and whispered, “Could you show us how to do the exercises?”
“Sure!” I replied.
They both seemed fearful, but they could tell that I was not, since I did not wear the detainee’s uniform or report my number as required. I was confident and optimistic.
I went to the center of the courtyard, where about 30 men, from their 20s to their 60s, silently surrounded me. All of the male detainees were out of their cells. I said to them, “There are five Falun Dafa exercises. I’ll start with the first one.” I explained the requirements of the exercises, told them the verse before doing each one, and the names of each movement as I demonstrated it to them. None of them spoke—they stood there, motionless.
Everyone seemed focused and held their breath—I could hear a pin drop! After I finished showing them the first four exercises, I said, “The fifth exercise, the meditation, requires sitting in the full lotus position.” As I was about to sit on the ground, they said quietly and politely, “No need!” They had seen me doing it earlier. It was also close to lunchtime, so everyone went back to their cells.
A camera was installed in the courtyard the following day.
