(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 38 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Beijing] Ms. Lu Yuxin Sentenced to Two Years in Prison

Ms. Lu Yuxin lives in Liulin Village, Sujiatuo Town, Haidian District, Beijing. She was reported to police for distributing information about Falun Gong and was arrested and taken to the Haidian District Detention Center on July 1, 2022. Ms. Lu was sentenced to two years in prison by the Shanhou Court in Haidian District in mid-February 2023.

2. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhao Hongmei and another practitioner were reported to police for distributing truth-clarifying booklets and pasting up messages about Falun Gong. The police identified them via surveillance camera. They were arrested at home by officers from the Development District Police Department and the Qinhuangdao City Police Department on the morning of March 8, 2023. The police ransacked their homes and confiscated a printer, computer, cell phone, and truth clarifying materials. Ms. Zhao Hongmei was sent to the Qinhuangdao City Detention Center.

Ms. Liu went to Ms. Zhao’s home to help her elderly father on March 8, 2023 and was arrested by three officers who were monitoring the home. Ms. Liu’s home was ransacked. She was released later that night.

3. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Cui Yuqiu Sentenced to Two Years in Prison

Ms. Cui Yuqiu was arrested by officers from the Yong’an Police Station and the Fushun City Police Department on February 22, 2022. She was later sentenced to two years in prison. Ms. Cui was recently taken to the Liaoning Province Women’s Prison.

4. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Yazhen and Her Husband Mr. Hu Junshan Arrested

Mr. Hu Junshan was arrested at his home by officers from the Hongxing Township Police Station on March 11, 2023. The police later returned and arrested his wife, Ms. Li Yazhen. Mr. Hu was released later that day. Ms. Li was detained for one night in the Peiyang Police Station and was placed in 13-day detention the next day.

5. [Shantou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Luo Huisheng Arrested

Mr. Luo Huisheng from the Longhu District was arrested at home by officers from the Zhuchi Police Station on the evening of March 9, 2023.

6. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Mr. Wang Jinrong Harassed

Mr. Wang Jinrong from the Hongshan District was harassed during the CCP’s “Two Sessions.” The police pressured him to sign a guarantee statement. He refused.

7. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Mr. He Ziguang Arrested

Mr. He Ziguang was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong. Several officers from the Renmin Road Police Station went to his home on March 13, 2023. They arrested Mr. He and ransacked his home. His Falun Gong books and other personal belongings were confiscated. He was placed in criminal detention.

8. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Lian Jing Arrested

Ms. Lian Jing from the Shenbei New District was arrested on March 6, 2023.

9. [Shanghai] Ms. Zhu Yunxiang Placed under Residential Surveillance

Ms. Zhu Yunxiang lives in Yichuan Road Sub-district, Putuo District. She was placed under residential surveillance from March 4 to 13, 2023. One or three persons were assigned to follow and monitor her. 

10. [Jining City, Shandong Province] 15 Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

The following 15 practitioners were sentenced by the Rencheng District Court on July 25, 2022.

Ms. Li Huiping was sentenced to eight years in prison and fined 18,000 yuan;Ms. Mi Jinying was sentenced to seven years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan;Mr. Xie Yugong was sentenced to five years in prison and fined 8,000 yuan;Mr. Hou Chengfu was sentenced to four years and six months in prison and fined 6,000 yuan;Ms. Li Xuxia was sentenced to three years and six months in prison and fined 5,000 yuan;Hou Chengqin was sentenced to three years and six months in prison and fined 5,000 yuan;Mr. Huang Qingrong and Li Hongxia were sentenced to three years in prison and fined 5,000 yuan;Li Hongxia was sentenced to three years in prison and fined 5,000 yuan;Ms. Li Yuegui was sentenced to three years in prison with three-year probation, and fined 4,000 yuan;Ms. Chu Fuhua was sentenced to two years and six months in prison with three-year probation, and fined 4,000 yuan;Jiao Fanglan was sentenced to two years and six months in prison with three-year probation, and fined 4,000 yuan;Wang Xiling was sentenced to two years and six months in prison and fined 4,000 yuan;Mr. Man Zhengyu was sentenced to two years in prison with a three-year probation, and fined 4,000 yuan; Ms. Chang Guifang was sentenced to two years in prison and fined 4000 yuan;Ms. Zhu Xiujuan was sentenced to one year and six months in prison with a two-year probation, and fined 3,000 yuan.

11. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Three practitioners from Shizhong District: Ms. Su Yanfang, Mr. Su Caibao, and Ms. Ma Xiuqin, were arrested by officers from the Shiliulihe Police Station on March 1, 2023. 

12. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Hongling Persecuted

Ms. Li Hongling from the Dongchangfu District was sentenced to one year in prison by the Dong’a Court on January 10, 2023, which was executed outside prison due to her heart disease. Ms. Li must report to the local police station once a week, which was recently changed to once every three days due to the CCP’s “Two Sessions.”

13. [Fuyuan City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Cao Chunyan Arrested

Ms. Cao Chunyan from Hanchonggou Town was arrested at home by officers from the Fuyuan City Police Department on the morning of March 7, 2023.

14. [Liquan County, Shaanxi Province] The Case Against Three Practitioners Submitted to the Court

The case against three practitioners, Ms. Li Xianghong, Ms. Li Jing, and Ms. Zhang Tao, was submitted to the Qindu District Court in Xianyang City.

15. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Guiying Detained

Ms. Xu Guiying from the Chiping District was placed under 10-day detention by officers from the Zhenxing Police Station on March 6, 2023.

16. [Shenmu City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Gao Xiaoke Arrested

Mr. Gao Xiaoke accompanied his wife to see a doctor in Beijing and they planned to take a train on February 27, 2023. Twelve police officers stopped the couple before they entered the Shemu Train Station. They searched Mr. Gao and found his Zhuan Falun. Twelve officers from the Yan’an Railway Police Department, accompanied by Guo Yufeng, deputy of the Shenmu City Domestic Security Division, went to Mr. Gao’s home, his son’s home and his office but they did not find anything they were looking for. Mr. Gao was taken to the Binhe Road Police Station in the afternoon and was released the next evening.

17. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Yanhui Arrested and Detained

Ms. Li Yanhua was arrested at home by officers from the No. 8 Police Station including You Dongmin, head of the police station, on the morning of March 6, 2023. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and cell phone. Ms. Li was detained for one night in the police station and 7 days in a detention house.
