(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 30 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Mr. Yao Zhiwang from Xiaoyangzhuang Village, Hebeitun Town, Wuqing District, was reported to the police for telling people about Falun Gong at the Hebeitun farmers market. He was arrested by officers from the Hebeitun Town Police Station. He was sentenced to one year and two months in prison by Wuqing District Procuratorate and Court. Mr. Yao refused to accept the judgment. It was not implemented at that time.
On February 27, 2023, court staff members arrived in a police car to arrest Mr. Yao and took him to the Wuqing District Detention Center.
When Ms. Lin Yongxia returned to her home she was arrested by officers from the Mishan City Domestic Security Division who were staked out nearby around 2 p.m. on February 28, 2023.
The officers ransacked Ms. Lin’s home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, printed materials, and other personal items. Ms. Lin’s current whereabouts are unknown.
Ms. Wang Xiuying from Fulongquan Town, Nong’an County, was arrested at work on the morning of March 3, 2023.
It was reported that Ms. Shao Benlan and Ms. Li Minglan were also arrested. A few other practitioners were harassed at home.
Mr. Gao Ke from Daowai District has not returned home since he went out recently. Officers from the Harbin City Police Department, the Daowai Police Department, and the local police station, as well as community management personnel, went to his home several times and threatened his wife and son that if they could not locate Mr. Gao, they would arrest his son instead.
Zhang Haibin, head of the Domestic Security Division, officer Zhu from the Yong’an Police Station, and four other people broke into Mr. Zhang Jian’s home on the morning of February 27, 2023. Mr. Zhang’s family members were overwhelmed with fright.
The officers ordered Mr. Zhang’s family to restrain him and prevent him from talking to people about Falun Gong. They threatened them and said that otherwise they would send Mr. Zhang to prison, terminate his pension, and make sure that he did not have any money to live on. This is the second time the officers harassed him. They previously came on February 8.
On March 3, 2023, the director of the Nanshan Community Management Office led a group of people to harass Mr. Luo Ying.
Ms. Huang Yuru, in her 70s, was arrested at home by officers from the Chengjiao Police Station around 5 p.m. on March 2, 2023. She was held in the Yushu City Detention Center for 10 days.
Ms. Liu Yaling, 55, from Mudanjiang City was running a store in Taizhou City, Jiangsu Province. She was arrested and detained for seven days while posting truth clarification stickers. The store she operated was ransacked.
Prior to the annual meetings of the CCP’s National Congress and Political Consultative Conference in March 2023, the local police stations and neighborhood committees in Cuigezhuang Township sent out people to monitor and follow practitioners around the clock since February 25.
It was reported that the township government, the Nangao Police Station, and the neighborhood committee jointly monitored and followed practitioners, including Chen Shumin, Wang Jianjun, and Liu Fengrong, 24 hours a day. Since the evening of February 25, a police car has been parked in the community where the practitioners live.
Five officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Wanzai County Police Department broke into the home of Ms. Wang Duanxiu, who was in her 70s, on the morning of February 22, 2023. They confiscated dozens of Falun Gong books and audio players. Several officers grabbed Ms. Wang’s hand to force her to sign paperwork. She resisted and did not sign. The officers threatened her, “If it were not for your age, you would be locked up!”
Ms. Li Yuqin from Qinglong County, Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province, was in Beijing taking care of her son’s child. On March 2, 2023, Ms. Li was arrested at home by officers from the Gaobeidian Police Station, Chaoyang District, Beijing. She is being held in the Chaoyang District Detention Center.
Ms. Fan Meiling is being held in the Langfang City Detention Center.
Lu Jing, the deputy head of Jianshe Village, Majing Town, Shifang City, collaborated with the 610 Office, and led four other people to ransack the homes of Ms. Xu Yuanzhen, Ms. Xiao Jiying, and Ms. Wang Jirong. They confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong. They rummaged through practitioners’ homes and damaged their personal belongings.
Ms. Liu Shuqin, Ms. Yan Shumei, Ms. Zhang Shumei, and a non-practitioner family member who drove the car, from Chicheng County, were reported to the county 110 Response Unit while distributing information about Falun Gong in the Yingluogou area in Toudaoying Village around 4 p.m. on March 3, 2023.
They were arrested by three officers from the Dongmao Town Police Station. Afterward, two officers from county 110, together with the director of the Ciyingzi Township Police Station, went to the Dongmao Town Police Station and took them to the Chicheng County Police Department that evening. Their car was impounded and their homes were ransacked.
The driver was released the following morning. The three practitioners were taken to the hospital for a physical examination. Afterward, they were detained for 15 days.
A few days ago, Ms. Jiang from the Tiedong Residential Community in the Longtan District was arrested.
On the evening of March 3, 2023, officers from the Zunyi Police Station in Longtan District broke into Ms. Li Cuiling’s home and arrested her. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, printed materials, a notebook computer, a printer, two cell phones, and more than 4,000 yuan in cash. Ms. Li’s parents later got 2,000 yuan back.
Liao Xiaoning (gender unknown) was arrested by police on February 23, 2023. Liao is being held in the Bailingtou Detention Center. Details are pending.
Ms. Shan Shan was arrested more than a year ago and is still being held in the Haidian District Detention Center.
Elderly Ms. Wang Caiyun was arrested on the morning of March 4, 2023, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She is being held in the Ajingou Police Station in the Dongzhou District.
On the afternoon of March 2, 2023, an officer from the Xiyingcheng Town Police Station in Jiutai County called Ms. Liu Yufen’s daughter. He told her that he wanted to see Ms. Liu and take pictures of her. The daughter told him that Ms. Liu was not at home.
Ms. Ying Aiyun from Wuyun Town was arrested on September 21, 2021, which was the Mid-Autumn Festival. After being held in custody for about a year, she was sentenced to four years in prison by the Jinyun County Court. She is currently being held in Lishui Prison.
Ms. Wang Xiuying, 58, was reported to the police for telling people about the persecution on the afternoon of February 12, 2023. Officers dragged her into a police car and took her to the Chengdonghu Police Station in Yuhong District. They took her bag. She was questioned at the police station and then at the Yuhong District Police Department, while the officers transcribed her answers.
On February 13, 2023, officers from the police station ransacked Ms. Wang’s home and confiscated several Falun Gong books and amulets. The officers took Ms. Wang to the district hospital and the Medical University Hospital for a physical examination. Her blood pressure kept measuring 210. The officers gave her antihypertensive drugs.
Around 9 p.m. the officers took Ms. Wang to the Shenyang No. 1 Detention Center. They measured her blood pressure twice, and both times it was 240. Detention center staff members said, “Her blood pressure is too high. She cannot be admitted.”
After leaving the detention center, the officers handling the case still did not give up. They took Ms. Wang to another hospital for examination, where her blood pressure was measured at 210. After returning to the police station, the officers continued to interrogate her. At 11 p.m. Ms. Wang was taken home by her husband, and she was placed under residential surveillance. Her national ID card is held by the police.
