The police harassed three elderly practitioners on August 30, 2022. They confiscated their Falun Gong books and ordered them to stop practicing.
On the same day, the police also harassed Ms. Hou Yulian at her fried dough stick food stand on the street. In the past, the police have harassed Ms. Hou a few times each year, and her family members were also intimidated.
Two elderly practitioners were harassed at home and had their Falun Gong books seized on September 7, 2022.
The police harassed a few more practitioners on November 3, 2022, including Ms. Hou. They surrounded her food stand and attempted to take her photos, but she refused to let them. In the afternoon, the officers ransacked her home when no one was around. Her two music players, six Falun Gong books, a wall calendar with information about Falun Gong and several Falun Gong magazines were confiscated.
After that, the police went to another practitioner’s home to harass her, but she was out. The police next went to search the home of an elderly practitioner, Ms. Shi. She said to them, “You don’t need to search it anymore. I don’t have anything else (related to Falun Gong) left. You took everything last time.”
One police officer and two government officials broke into the home of Mr. Kang Gang’s mother on February 21, 2023. They asked her where Mr. Kang was and what he was doing. His mother refused to answer the questions and expressed her frustration at the non-stop harassment.
