(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 31 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ten practitioners, including Li Weihong, He Li, He Qingyun, Su Jinling, Li Xiaopang, and Zhao Niu, are currently in the No.3 Detention Center of Zhengzhou City. They will be tried soon.
Ms. Zhao Chuanmei, 70, from the Pudong New District was arrested in September 2022 but later was released on bail for a year pending trial. She received a call from the Fengxian Court on April 12, 2023, telling her to come get the indictment.
Four officers from the Xinghua Street Police Station in the Tianhe District broke into Ms. Chen Jinqing’s home when her daughter opened the door to go to work on the morning of February 24, 2023. They ransacked the home and confiscated a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, several pendants, several hundred yuan with information about Falun Gong printed on the bills, and several copies of Minghui Weekly. Ms. Chen, 72, and her daughter were taken to the police station for interrogation. Her daughter was released that evening. Ms. Chen was held a detention house for 30 days and then transferred to the Tangxia Detention Center.
Ms. Zhao Li was sentenced to 18 months in prison. She appealed to the Daqing City Intermediate Court and was tried again in the Daqing Intermediate Court on March 16, 2023, but the original verdict was upheld.
Ms. Li Guilan, 78, was arrested on February 8, 2023. She was admitted to the Weizigou Detention Center.
Ms. Cen Hua from the Chaoyang District was arrested on April 14, 2023.
Ms. Liu Yuhuan was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong on March 7, 2023. Dacheng Police Station officers ransacked her home and arrested her on March 11, 2023. Her current situation is unknown.
Ms. Wang Yabin works in a silk spinning factory in Xiangfang City. No one has heard from her recently.
Ms. Wang Xiuqin and Wang Wang Wenhua from Dongguang County were arrested by officers from the Wang Town Police Station on April 14, 2023, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Their homes were ransacked.
Five officers from the Shiliuyuan Police Station in the Fengtai District went to the home of Mr. Xu Jianping and Ms. Li Jiabi on September 6, 2022. They ransacked it and confiscated all the Falun Gong books. The two practitioners were taken to the police station. Ms. Li was released around 3 a.m. the next early morning due to health reasons and her advanced age. Mr. Xu is still detained.
Xie Dianhong and Wang Yanqin from Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province, were arrested in Haikou City, Hainan Province one month ago. They were taken to a brainwashing center.
Five practitioners including Mr. Tong Ruiqing and Xing Jingyu, were arrested on July 18, 2022. Mr. Tong and Xing Jingyu were held in the Wanti Detention Center in Daming County. Mr. Tong was transferred to the No.2 Detention Center.
Ms. Deng Xiuying was arrested on July 18, 2022, and later released. Ms. Deng received a call from the Hanshan District Police Department on April 3, 2023, summoning her to the Feixiang District Detention Center on April 6, 2023.
Ms. Zhao Guirong, 71, has been staying away from her home to avoid the persecution. She was arrested again on April 8, 2023, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She is currently detained in the No. 215 Police Hospital.
Ms. Liang Huiqin lives in Wanggezhuang Village, Songgezhuang Township, Laishui County. She was intercepted in the Long’an Bridge Checkpoint when she was traveling to Beijing for work on February 26, 2023. She was searched, and the police found her copy of Zhuan Falun. Her home was ransacked by officers from the Songgezhuang Township Police Station. They tore a poster off her wall and pressured her to give up practicing Falun Gong.
Ms. Wu Bilin, 74, was arrested on May 13, 2018, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was sentenced to five years in Hankou Women’s Prison. She will be released on May 22, 2023.
Ms. Yu Zhixin from the Xicheng District was arrested on February 27, 2023, for putting up stickers with information about Falun Gon) and was taken to the Xicheng District Detention Center. She was released on bail pending trial on March 14, 2023.
Several officers including Zhang Zhe went to the home of Ms. Liu Shaoling and her husband Mr. Su Yuncheng around 8 a.m. on February 24, 2023. They ransacked the place and confiscated a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, a desktop computer, a laptop computer, eight Falun Gong books, some truth-clarifying materials, and three media players. The couple was detained for 14 days.
Mr. Li Xueyi from Linxia County was arrested in Yulin City where he works in early April 2023. Mr. Li’s father Mr. Li Jiankui is also a practitioner.
