(Minghui.org) I am 74 years old. After started to practice Falun Dafa cultivation in 1998, I recovered from several health issues. I also stopped losing my temper and became more cool-headed. I never went to school when I was a child and so I was illiterate. But after I began to cultivate, I learned to read and could finally study the Fa on my own.
For the past 20-plus years, I have been on the front lines of truth-clarification and walked my cultivation path very steadily. It was especially so during the nine years between 2011 and 2019 when I handed out the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and clarified the truth to save sentient beings. Despite the risks that seemed to exist, that time was truly unforgettable! There are experiences of saving people that remain in my memory.
I understood that what I did was to assist Master Li (Falun Dafa’s founder) in saving sentient beings and that it was Master who saved them. I only managed to maintain a heart of assisting Master in saving people. I kept walking the streets to encounter people with predestined relationships with me who were brought to me by Master.
Distributing the Nine Commentaries and Clarifying the Truth for Nine Years
In early 2011, after I arrived at our Fa-study group to study the Fa, the practitioner who produced the truth-clarification materials took out copies of the Nine Commentaries and other Dafa brochures. She also mentioned that in sharing articles published on the Minghui website, they encouraged practitioners to hand out a large number of truth-clarification materials with a focus on the Nine Commentaries.
I asked the practitioner beside me, “How do we hand out the Nine Commentaries?” She replied, “Since its inception, there have been many plainclothes police officers who are responsible for arresting practitioners who hand out the Nine Commentaries. Many practitioners have been imprisoned because of it. So what we usually do is to put the Nine Commentaries on the windowsill of a house, in the yard, in the basket of a bicycle, on various vehicles, on the roadside where people pass by, etc.”
I asked her, “Could it be that nobody would see it? Wouldn’t that be a pity?” She replied, “After you leave it there, you can watch from a distance. Usually, people will take them. If nobody takes it, we’ll get them.”
I didn’t respond, but only thought: I feel I can only hand them out to people. I can do it along with my truth-clarification and helping people quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). I feel that if I do it this way, I will be more comfortable doing it. This initial thought laid the foundation for my Fa-rectification path for the following nine years.
After I thought it over, I took 20 copies of the Nine Commentaries home. Then I took out five of them and put them in my purse. I left the Fa-study group and headed towards the busiest street in the downtown area and started.
I thought: For such a wonderful series, I have to first judge who the person is before I pass one out to them. By giving it to those who appear to have received a good education and possess a good temperament, it can achieve a greater effect. Among the people passing by, I kept looking, and when I felt someone was the right candidate, I began to pass it out. I said, “Sir, let me give you a historic-oriented book to check out.” They grabbed it after they saw the book cover.
When the practitioner who went with me saw me passing them out like that, she became confident as well. She handed out quite a number of copies. Sometimes she carried a few dozen of them with her and handed them out for a few years.
In those nine years, I started by handing out the Nine Commentaries. Then I handed out the Ultimate Goal of Communism. I always gave them out along with truth-clarification brochures. Since it had gone well, I handed them out in the same way and at the same pace every day during those nine years.
The sentient beings who received Dafa truth-clarification materials from me during those nine years account for more than 90% of my handing-out materials. When I handed out the Nine Commentaries, the majority of people accepted them. There were some who after they accepted it asked for more. They were excited, as they longed for it. There were also some who wanted to report me but accepted this book in the end.
Experiences of Clarifying the Truth and Saving Sentient Beings
Master said:
“People with predestined relationships and those who can be saved can be made to—made to by Master’s Law Bodies, righteous gods, or the immense field that Dafa has formed in the world—appear right before you in any of a range of settings, providing them with a chance to learn the truth. But you have to carry it out, and it doesn’t work if you’re not out there doing things.” (“Teaching the Fa at the Fa Conference at the U.S. Capital,” Collected Teachings Given Around the World Volume VII)
By following what Master said, I stepped forward and encountered the people with predestined relationships with me. Then, I clarified the truth to them. The following are a few experiences worth remembering and sometimes I encountered danger, but in the end, was safe and sound.
Experiences Worth Remembering
Wanting the Nine Commentaries Himself
One time, at a bridge, I took out a copy of the Nine Commentaries and was about to give it to a man. He took it from me and looked at the cover. After that, he stuck out his hand and said, “I want another copy. Do you have one?” I then gave him another copy. There have been quite a few cases like that. Some people said they wanted it for their friends, others said they would take it for their students. They said that they had heard about this book for a long time. When they finally got to see it they were so grateful!
Another time I was near a university when I ran into a man who was in his 40s, I went up to him to give him the Nine Commentaries. Then I said to him, “Young man, how are you? Did you want to read this book?” After he took it from me, he looked at the book cover and read the manual, then he kept saying, “Thank you! Thank you!”
Seeing that he was so excited, I asked, “It looks like you really like this book, don't you?” He nodded and said, “Yes.” I said, “Then you’ll need to quit the CCP and its youth organizations, so you will face good fortune.” He waved the book in his hand and said, “I have done that. Today, for me to get this book, already means that I’ve received good fortune!” While he was saying that, he left. After he had walked quite a distance away, he still turned around and made the gesture of Heshi (show of respect) towards me, and thanked me.
Handicapped Retired Solider
One day, a retired handicapped soldier stood there, watching a house across from him being demolished. When I tried to hand him a copy of the Nine Commentaries, he didn’t take it. The way he looked at me was as if to say: “I am so poor, what’s the point of my checking out this book?” I realized that he joined the Sino-Vietnamese War and was injured in the war. After that, he returned to the countryside. He got no other compensation than low-income social assistance, which was a little over 200 yuan (equivalent to $30 US) each month.
I expressed my sympathy to him and asked him: “How can you survive on such a small allowance? When you were young, you went to the battlefield to fight, but when you were injured and became handicapped, the government didn’t care about you. This government is ruthless.” When he felt my expressing understanding towards him, he was moved.
I told him that there is a way for him to change his fate: It was to sincerely recite the phrases, “Falun Dafa is wonderful, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is wonderful!”, and renounce his memberships in the CCP organizations. He told me he had joined the Youth League and Young Pioneers, and he agreed to quit them. I told him that he should recite those two phrases often, then everything would change for the better.
When I started talking he held onto my hand and didn’t want to let it go. When I offered him a napkin to wipe his tears, he kept saying: Thank you! Thank you! After I was quite a distance away, he was still doing the gesture of Heshi towards me to thank me.
Sentient Beings Longing for Truth
One day in the spring of 2011, I brought some informational materials about the stone with the hidden characters and some DVDs that showed the June 4 Tiananmen Square Massacre to the entrance of the park. I took out the DVDs and shouted: “I have DVDs to show the June 4 Tiananmen Massacre; let me give you a copy!” As I finished saying this, a group of people turned around to look at me, and each one of them stuck out their hands. Dozens of DVDs and informational materials were taken. After that, I clarified the truth to them, and then brought up the topic of quitting the CCP and why one needed to do so.
I said: “Since the CCP took over the reign in 1949, it has killed 80 million Chinese through its numerous political movements. This number of deaths exceeds the total death toll for the two world wars. What happened was more cruel than Hitler’s atrocities. The stone with the hidden characters shown on the entrance ticket is true, it has already become a tourist spot, and you can go there to check it out. That stone fell off 500 years ago but was only discovered in 2002. The stone’s cross-section reveals Chinese characters that read, ‘The CCP Will Perish.’ This is heaven warning people. Whoever has joined the CCP organizations needs to withdraw their memberships from it to ensure their safety.”
After that, I helped seven people quit the CCP. One person said he also heard other people mention this to him before, but he didn’t quit. Today after he fully understood the truth, he decided to quit. He also asked me to help his daughter quit. I said: “You need her agreement.” I asked him to talk to her first. If she happens to run into a Dafa practitioner later on, that person can also help her quit.
Two Seemingly Dangerous Experiences
A Police Officer Kindly Reminded Me
One day, at a busy spot in a park, a young woman in her 40s took the Nine Commentaries from me and left, and I took out another copy from my purse. At that time, someone patted at me on my left arm. When I turned around, it was a police officer in a police uniform, with a police badge, and an intercom hanging in front of his chest. He whispered to me in a kind voice, “My aunt! Please don’t distribute them here.” I then replied, “Sure, thank you!”
Afterward, I felt that what happened that day was a bit risky. However, I had stronger feelings of praise deep down for that type of police officer. He acted to protect practitioners, and by doing so he chose a bright future for himself.
A Retired Police Took the Book
One morning, I walked on the lakeside in a park, where I ran into a man who was going up the hill to get spring water. When he walked towards me, I greeted him first, then handed him a copy of the Nine Commentaries. I said, “I’m giving you a copy for you to check out.”
After he took the book, his facial expression changed immediately. He asked me, “Do you know what I do?” I said, “It does not matter what you do. It’ll be good for you to read this book.” He told me that his son worked for the police and was in charge of Falun Gong matters. I said, “Then you really should take this book to have him read it. It’ll be absolutely good for your son and your whole family.”
He suddenly said, “Forget it! You can go now.” Then he took my book and walked away.
Omnipotence of Dafa
During those nine years of saving sentient beings, Master protected me and gave me wisdom. I only have a heart for assisting Master in saving sentient beings. When I held righteous thoughts and actions, Master empowered me. He gave me the wisdom to clarify the truth, and to have me witness the omnipotence of Dafa.
