(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 32 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Mr. Wang Guohui and Ms. Yu Chunli from the Chengyang District will be tried in Pudong in Jimo District at 9 a.m. on July 13, 2023.
Ms. Li Yaying from Helong Town was arrested at home on the afternoon of July 2, 2023 for clarifying the truth about the persecution via cell phone.
Ms. Fu Zhaocui was taken to the Mudanjiang City Detention Center from the police hospital on July 1, 2023.
Nine practitioners were arrested in Pingdu City on July 3, 2023. They are Ms. Hou Xiuxiang, Ms. Zhang Junying, Ms. Zhang Hongyan, Ms. Pang Jiancai, Xing Jiatuan, Ms. Qiu Shuhui, Da Xiao, Mr. Geng Xiujie and his son Mr. Yuan Guizuo.
The police ransacked the practitioners’ homes. They went to the home of Mr. Geng Xiujie, the former principal of No. 2 Vocational School, at noon on July 3, 2023. They ransacked his home and confiscated his Falun Gong books and his laptop. Mr. Geng Xiujie and his son Mr. Geng Guizuo were arrested and taken to the police station for interrogation. Mr. Geng Guizuo was released that evening.
Ms. Wang Fengying, 82, and Ms. Hong Guifang, 62, were arrested on the afternoon of June 14, 2023 for talking to people about Falun Gong. They were taken to the local police station and were found to have information about Falun Gong in their bags. Their homes were ransacked. Ms. Wang was released the next day due to high blood pressure. Ms. Hong was detained for 15 days in the Guashan Detention Center and was released on June 30, 2023.
Four practitioners were arrested in mid-June and late June 2023 and were detained from 5 to 10 days. They are Ms. Liu Minjie, Ning Yongfan, Ms. Zhou Yanping, and Ms. Xu Liping.
Ms. Xu Liping was injured by officers from the Dongfeng Police Station in Qikai District during the arrest and was taken to the detention house in a wheelchair. Her husband was also arrested and taken to the detention house for resisting the persecution.
Several officers from the Liujiabao Police Station in Anning District went to Ms. Liu Linxia’s home at noon on July 3, 2023. They ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, laptop and other personal belongings. Ms. Liu and her husband were taken to the police department for interrogation. Her husband was released at 5 p.m. Ms. Liu has been detained.
Ms. Yin Guiqin was arrested in July 2022 and was detained for one month. She received a letter from the Shengli Police Station in Shunyi District and was summoned to the police station on July 6, 2023.
Mr. Kuang Xinrong and his wife Ms. Huang Zaifang from Jiangjin District were taken to the Huayan Detention Center on June 25, 2023. Ms. Huang was denied admission due to her health. Mr. Kuang is still detained there.
Mr. Li Shigang was arrested at home by three officers from the Wenmiao Police Station at 6:30 p.m. on June 4, 2023. The police ransacked his home and confiscated a Falun Gong book, an iPad, two cell phones, and a media player. Mr. Li managed to escape from the police station the next day. He has been staying away from his home to avoid further persecution.
Mr. Liu Changjin was released and went home. However, he was placed under residential surveillance and was given a SIM card by the police. He must take the phone with him when he goes out.
Mr. Duan Zhisheng lives in Hanji Village, Simenchun Town, Botou City. He was arrested at his workplace on the morning of July 3, 2023, and was taken to the Botou City Detention Center.
Several officers from the Huangzhuang Town Police Station went to Mr. Li Chunfeng’s home at noon on July 3, 2023. They took Mr. Li and his wife Ms. Sun Liting to the police station and pressured them to sign the guarantee statement to stop practicing Falun Gong. A young officer wrote the statement for Ms. Sun, who was released the next day.
Mr. Han Ximin and Ms. Du Qingxiu were arrested by officers from the Beita District Police Department on May 12, 2023. Their homes were ransacked. The police confiscated their bank cards, residential IDs, cash, two laptops, an e-bike and other personal belongings. They did not provide the family with a list of the items they confiscated.
Mr. Han’s family hired a lawyer, but when he tried to visit Mr. Han in the detention center, he was not turned away.
Ms. Tong Jinping was tried by the Jiujiang Intermediate Court in January 2023 and was sentenced one year and fined 5,000 yuan. She was held in the Jiujiang City Detention Center for one year before she was released on June 16, 2023. She was healthy before her arrest but developed diabetes while she was detained.
