(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 17 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Mr. Huang Zhufeng, an assistant engineer, will be tried by the Maonan District Court on the morning of August 16, 2023.
Mr. Yu Tao, an excellent teacher, will be tried by the Maonan District Court on the morning of August 18, 2023.
Ms. Feng Lianxia, 65, was arrested at home on July 12, 2022. Her home was ransacked. She was held in the Daqing City Detention Center. She was later tried in court and was sentenced to three years and six months in prison. Ms. Feng is currently detained in the Harbin Women’s Prison.
Ms. Xu Delan from the Dongchangfu District was arrested at home on September 16, 2022. Her home was ransacked and multiple Falun Gong books were confiscated. More than ten practitioners were arrested that day. She was detained in the No. 4 People’s Hospital which is a psychiatric hospital, until she was released on bail pending trial in December 2022.
Her case was submitted to the Dong’e Procuratorate in mid-April 2023. She was sentenced to one year in prison with two years of probation by the Dong’e District Court in late July 2023.
Ms. Yang Songmei from Zhangxing Town was arrested in the Zhangxing Town Market on August 1, 2023, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was detained for seven days.
Ms. Song Dexiang from Laodian Village of Xinzhuang Town, and Ms. Lan Fenglian from Zhaojia Village of Zhangxing Town, were arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong in the Xinzhuang Town Market on August 9, 2023. Their homes were ransacked. Ms. Song was released later that day. Ms. Lan has been detained in the Linglonggou Detention Center since then.
Ms. Wang Chunlei was harassed at home by Wang Sanji, the Lianmeng Community head in Mian County on July 30, 2023. Wang wanted to take some photos. Later some officers from the Chengxi Police Station and the Mian County Police Department came and knocked on her door. The police returned and broke into her home at 1 a.m. on August 4, 2023, while no one was there. They ransacked her home. Ms. Wang’s whereabouts are unknown.
Ms. Chen Xueyan was arrested on August 10, 2023, and was held in the Mudanjiang City Detention Center.
Ms. Qiao Shuxiang from Dahedao Township of Quzhou County, was arrested at home by officers from the Xiaoxibao Township Police Station in the Yongnian District at 11 p.m. on August 13, 2023.
Several officers from the Gaoba Police Station went to Ms. Liu Lixiu’s home on June 28, 2023. Ms. Liu Lixiu, 65, Ms. Li Zhongming, 75, and Ms. Shang Xiwen, in her 80s, were there when the police came. The police confiscated two Falun Gong books.
Mr. Wang Runxiang and his wife Ms. Liu Zhimei, 74, live in Tianjin City. They received a call from the real estate company who said that their home in Bazhou City, Hebei Province, had a water leak, which was not true. When the couple was tricked into going there, several officers from the Yangfengang Police Station came. They ransacked the couple’s home. The couple kept asking them not to take the Falun Gong books. The police took a small printer and several Falun Gong book covers.
Ms. Li Shuqin from Yi Village of Shiliang Town usually works out of town. She was arrested at home by officers from the Shiliang Town Police Station on July 3, 2023, when she came back to her hometown. Her home was ransacked. The police confiscated some Falun Gong books and informational materials about Falun Gong. Ms. Li was held for 15 days in a detention house. She was placed under surveillance after she was released.
Ms. Liu Shuying from Wei County was arrested on August 10, 2022, by officers from the Yixing Police Station in Guangling County for talking to people about Falun Gong in Guangling County. She was sent to the No.1 Detention Center of Datong City and was later sentenced to 11 months in prison by the Yungang District Court. Ms. Liu was released on July 9, 2023.
