(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 31 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
More than ten practitioners in Jiutai County were arrested around July 15 and 20, 2023.
Ms. Wang, around 70, lives alone. Her son learned of her arrest several days later when he received a call from the Changchun City Police Department. He rushed to her home and found the place was ransacked.
Ms. Liu Xinmei, nearly 50, lives alone. She was arrested and her home was ransacked. She was previously sentenced to six or seven years in prison.

Other arrests have been reported on Minghui.org: Jiang Jie, Liu Liying, Wang Yajun, and Wang Yingjie were arrested on July 21, 2023. Their homes were ransacked. Wang Guofen was arrested. Zhang Honghua was arrested on June 5, 2023. Wang Guozhan was arrested according to a May report.
Ms. Mei Hongjuan and Ms. Mei Hongju were arrested and taken to the Mudu Police Station around 4:00 p.m. on July 22, 2023, after someone reported that they and Jin Yaojing (gender unknown) talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Jin escaped from the scene but was arrested at home and taken to the police station around 10:00 p.m. that night. Officers ransacked her home and seized her Falun Gong books, a computer, a cell phone, and other belongings. The three practitioners were given 15 days of detention on July 23, 2023, and are being held in the Guoxiang Detention Center.
Ms. Hu Xiaocui, who lives in the Guang’an District, was arrested on July 19, 2023. Her home was ransacked. It is not known where she is being held.
Ms. Hu was repeatedly imprisoned and sentenced to forced labor or prison. Her last imprisonment was a year ago.
She was imprisoned in 2000 and 2004 in the Nanmusi Forced Labor Camp in Zizhong County. She was imprisoned and sentenced to forced labor again in 2009 for distributing Falun Gong flyers.
She had a court hearing on March 2, 2016. Her attorney entered a not-guilty plea.
Mr. Liu Mingde lives in Xigao Town, Guanghan City. The Shifang City Court sentenced him to one-year probation, and he had to stay away from Shifang City for a year. He was fined 3,000 yuan.
Ms. Wang Shuqin and Teng Guojun (gender unknown) were arrested around 4:30 a.m. on July 21, 2023. Five officers from the Weizigou Police Station jumped over the fence and landed in the yard. They arrested the two practitioners and seized four pictures of Falun Gong's founder, two cell phones, two e-book readers, and Ms. Wang’s car. Teng was given 13 days of detention. Ms. Wang was released around 11:30 p.m. because of high blood pressure.
The two practitioners saw three other practitioners, Bai Mingxu, Liu Yufen, and Niu (first name unknown) when they were in the detention center.
Ms. Cheng Qingxia, 58, was arrested by officers from the Daliu Police Station around 10:00 a.m. on July 19, 2023. She was released around 10:00 p.m. But she was arrested again the next day by officers from the police station and was taken to Shenyang City. Details are unknown.
Four officers from the Yongji Police Station knocked on Ms. Yu Mei’s door after 6:00 p.m. on July 25, 2023. She was not at home. Her father was there. They pried open her locked cabinet and seized a picture of Falun Gong's founder, Falun Gong books, an MP3, a tablet computer, and other belongings.
Ms. Zhang Jinying was arrested in her apartment by more than ten officers from the Yonghua Road Police Station and the Hancun Police Station after 8:00 p.m. on July 24, 2023. The officers ransacked the place and seized a set of Falun Gong books, a notebook computer, TF cards, and many pendants with Falun Gong messages. She was taken to the Yonghua Road Police Station for a statement. After 3:00 a.m., she was taken to the Qingyuan County No. 5 Hospital to undergo a detention center entry physical exam.
She was diagnosed with high blood pressure and inflammation of bilateral lung displacement. The officers wanted the doctor to write a statement that she was fit for detention. The doctor refused. The officers took her back to the Yonghua Road Police Station since no detention center would admit someone with so many health issues. She was released on bail.
Chen Ping, gender unknown, was arrested on July 22, 2023, and was released at noon on July 24.
Lin Qunfang, gender unknown, talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong near the Hedongxinqu Museum after 8:00 a.m. on July 2023. Someone recorded and reported Lin to the police. Lin was arrested by Yangdu Police Station officers. The officers ransacked Lin’s home and seized several Falun Gong books, a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, and more than 100 yuan in paper currency with Falun Gong messages printed on them. Lin did not cooperate, refused to sign a police statement, and was released after 7:00 p.m.
Ms. Gu Chunying of Yanshou County was arrested on July 19, 2023. It was said that she was taken to Harbin City. The details are unknown.
Four strangers came to Ms. Wang Zhijie’s home and tried to arrest her on July 21, 2023. She was not at home. To avoid being arrested, she left home and moved from place to place.
Lang Zhongming has not been seen or heard from since July 21, 2023.
Ms. Zhang Shufeng, who lives in Jiuxiang Village, went to the Liuwang Open Market on the morning of July 12, 2023. A plainclothes officer photographed her using a cell phone when she arrived there. Two plainclothes officers arrested her when she was about to leave. She was held for a week in the Weifang City Detention Center. She was put under residential surveillance after she was released.
Ms. Cui Yanling and Ms. Wang Ying were admitted to the Jilin Province Women’s Prison on July 14, 2023.
