(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners participated in the 46th Annual Heritage Festival held at the WaterFire Arts Center in Providence on September 21, 2024.

They demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises and told people how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is persecuting the practice. They also collected signatures to support the Falun Gong Protection Act that has been passed by the U.S. House of Representatives and is now before the Senate. Many people were interested in Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa), and nearly 100 signed the petition.

Practitioners participated in the 46th Annual Heritage Festival at the WaterFire Arts Center in Providence on September 21.

Practitioners in Rhode Island have participated in this event for many years. Festival visitors came from Providence, the capital of Rhode Island, as well as from Cranston and Warwick. Some said they were interested in the oriental culture displayed at the Falun Dafa stand and were attracted by the eye-catching exercise banner.

Practitioners Demonstrate the Exercises on Stage

Practitioners were invited to demonstrate the exercises. When they lined up in formation in the staging area, they were welcomed with warm applause. As they demonstrated the slow and gentle exercises to the soothing exercise music, many people stood up and imitated their movements.

As Falun Dafa practitioners demonstrated the exercises, audience members watched and followed along.

After the exercise demonstration, many people who did the exercises went to their table and said they were interested in learning more about Falun Dafa. Some asked where the nearest practice site was and what time practitioners met. Some people learned the Falun Dafa exercises during the event.

A woman who practices yoga said she wanted to learn Falun Gong. A practitioner told her she could make an appointment to learn it for free and if she had friends who wanted to learn, they could also come. She was very happy to hear this.

People Sign to Support the Falun Gong Protection Act

People who came to the Falun Gong table learned that practitioners were still being persecuted by the CCP and that they could sign a petition asking the Rhode Island senator to vote in favor of passing the Falun Gong Protection Act. Many people left their signatures to show their support.

A practitioner told an elderly man about Falun Dafa and how cultivating uplifts one spiritually and physically. The practitioner also described the CCP’s crime of harvesting organs from practitioners while they are alive, and that signatures are important way to help stop the persecution and save lives. The man signed the petition and then brought his wife over to learn about the practice and sign the petition.

A mother brought her daughter over and asked, “Do you remember me? We came to the booth last year and here we are again this year.” The practitioner felt very happy that her efforts had so impressed the woman that she would return a year later. The mother signed the petition in support of the Falun Gong Protection Act.
