(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 11 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Yang Sizhen and her husband Mr. Xiao Wenxue, both in their 70s, as well as Ms. Guo Chunfang, a 58-year-old award-winning teacher, were arrested in their apartments on Tianfeng Street on October 14, 2024. The police covered their heads with bags and dragged them down the stairs. The officers said they had monitored the three for over four months, and they’d rather arrest the wrong person than miss a real Falun Gong practitioner. The police were staked outside the practitioners’ rental place and arrested Mr. Yang Sanlun when he stopped by, unaware of what had happened.
Prior to this latest arrest, Mr. Xiao and Ms. Yang had been living away from home since 2008, and Ms. Guo since 2011. All three have moved from place to place over the past decade in order to hide from the police.
Ms. Liu, first name unknown, was harassed at home by Xincun Police Station officers on the afternoon of October 18, 2024. The officers ransacked her place and interrogated her. It was said that a resident’s door camcorder recorded her putting up Falun Gong flyers on September 17 and reported her.
Ms. Liu Xiuqin was arrested at work around 10 a.m. on August 22, 2024, by five officers from the Qiaoguan Town Police Station. She was taken to the police station and interrogated.
The police took her to the Changle Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital around 2 p.m. They forcibly took her blood pressure and a blood sample. They also attempted to give her an electrocardiogram test, but failed. They then took her to the Chengguan Police Station in Changle City and secured her fingerprints and blood samples against her will. At about 7 p.m., she was taken to the Changle Detention Center, which refused to admit her. The police then held her in a lockup for 10 days. She was released on September 1, 2024.
Ms. Han Yun from the Xinchengzi District was arrested in early October 2024.
Ms. Song, nearly 80, first name unknown, from Yongxing Town was harassed in late September 2024. Officers ransacked her home and seized a laptop, many Falun Gong books, and 35 Falun Gong printouts. She was taken to a police station, interrogated for an entire day, and forced to sign documents. She has since been harassed several times at home. Officers asked her who bought her the laptop and installed a surveillance camcorder in front of her window to monitor her.
Mr. Ma Yongheng was arrested on August 17, 2024. The police seized his computer, printer, and other personal items from his home. He is being held in the Kaifeng City Detention Center.
Mr. Chen Shunan, a native of Heilongjiang Province, was sentenced to one year in prison by the Tunxi District Court in Huangshan City, Anhui Province, on July 21, 2022, for distributing Falun Gong materials. After he was released, he moved to Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, for a job opportunity, only to be arrested again by officers from the Chengbei Police Station on April 15, 2023, also for distributing Falun Gong materials. He was sentenced to 18 months and released on October 13, 2024.
Ms. Yang Cuiling of Dongwangzhuang Village was arrested at home by officers from the Baoding City Police Department and Laishui County Police Department around 10 a.m. on October 18, 2024. A village official led the police to her home. They ransacked her place. She is possibly being held in the Laishui County Detention Center. Her son, who just started primary school, and her two daughters, who just started kindergarten, cry for their mother every day.
