(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 28 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Wang Hong Facing Trial

Wang Hong is scheduled to stand trial in the Harbin City Railway Transportation Intermediate Court on October 9, 2024.

2. [Beijing] Fourteen Practitioners and Their Family Members Arrested

Fourteen practitioners and their family members were arrested in Yanqing County on September 23, 2024. They are Ms. Wu Fangling and her husband Mr. Wang Jianmin, Ms. Liang Fenglian, Ms. Zhang Yanrong, Ms. Yang Xiulan, Hao Xiufeng, Xi Ping from Hebei province, Wu Zhenye, Ms. Zhang Yan and her two sisters, Ms. Liu Yuling, Ms. Wang Chaoying and her husband who doesn’t practice Falun Gong. The police ransacked Ms. Yang’s home and confiscated many devices and paper bills printed with information about Falun Gong. All of the practitioners’ cellphones were taken away as well.

Seven of them, including Ms. Wu Fangling, Ms. Liang, Ms. Zhang Yan and her two sisters, Ms. Liu and Ms. Wang, have been released on bail.

3. [Yunmeng County, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhang Jintao Detained

Mr. Zhang Jintao from Hebian Village were arrested on the afternoon of September 22, 2024, by officers from the Chengguan Police Station in Yunmeng County and Shangqiu City Police Department in Henan Province. He was taken to Henan Province and has been detained there since. It’s not clear why the police in Henan was involved in his case.

4. [Tianjin] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Yang Guangrui and Ms. Jiang, both from Wuqing District, were reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong at a supermarket in Caozili Township on September 24, 2024. Fifteen plainclothes officers from the Caozili Township Police Station and Domestic Security Division arrested them and Ms. Jiang’s husband, Mr. Du Yubai, at 7 a.m. on September 25, 2024. They ransacked the practitioners’ homes and confiscated their Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder and a computer. Ms. Jiang was placed under a 15-day detention. Her husband was released in the evening. Ms. Yang was also released in the evening due to her high blood pressure.

5. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Yumei Detained

Ms. Wang Yumei from Gaoxin District was arrested on September 15, 2024 for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong in 2022. The police didn’t arrest her back then due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She was detained for 10 days in the Haiyang City Lockup and released on September 25, 2024.

6. [Chongqing] Mr. Hu Qingming Lost Contact with Local Falun Gong Practitioners

Mr. Hu Qingming is a practitioner in Fuqiang Village, Wulidian Sub-district, Jiangbei District. He has lost contact with local Falun Gong practitioners since April 2023. As the practitioners couldn’t contact his family, they were unable to rule out the possibility that he had been arrested.

7. [Shanghai] Ms. Xu Nixia Harassed Prior to the Chinese National Day

Ms. Xu Nixia was harassed at home by Li Zhendong, director of the Songnan Comprehensive Management Office of Baoshan District and his subordinate Zheng Yixin, on September 26, 2024. They threatened to detain her during the Chinese National Day from September 30 to October 7, 2024, in an attempt to prevent her from exposing the communist regime’s persecution of Falun Gong during that time.

8. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Xu Wenfu and Sun Shaoping Harassed

Mr. Xu Wenfu and Sun Shaoping were harassed at home by two officers from the Shihe Town Police Station in Jinzhou District on September 27, 2024. The police took photos without the practitioners’ consent.

9. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Guixian Tried in Court

Mr. Li Guixian from Dadong District was tried in the Dadong District Court on September 25, 2024. He is now awaiting the verdict at home.

10. [Shanghai] Ms. Li Yaqun and Ms. Liu Yuzhu Arrested

Ms. Liu Yuzhu and Ms. Liu Yuzhu, both from Minhang District, were arrested on September 2 and 3, 2024, respectively, for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. They were taken to the Qibao Police Station first and then to the Minhang District Detention Center. Ms. Li was released on September 14, 2024. Ms. Liu’s situation is unclear.

11. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhu Yuxiang Arrested

Mr. Zhu Yuxiang was arrested at home by an officer surnamed Ding from the Tiexi District Police Department and Niu, deputy of the Qigong Police Station in Tiexi District on the morning of September 21, 2024. The police confiscated several Falun Gong books and a photo of Falun Gong’s founder. Mr. Zhu was interrogated in the Qigong Police Station and released later that day.
