Yunlin, Taiwan: Documentary Exposes Forced Organ Harvesting By the CCP

Nov. 1, 2024 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Taiwan

(Minghui.org) State Organs, a documentary about the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) forced organ harvesting, was screened again on October 26, 2024, at ShowTimes Cinemas in Beigang, Yunlin County, Taiwan. Although CCP agents threatened the theater and audience members in an effort to stop the show, more people wished to see the documentary, so additional shows were added.

After the special screening, a panel discussion was arranged. The panelists included Su Chih-fen (former County Magistrate of Yunlin County), Liu Chien-kuo (member of the Legislative Yuan), and others.

A panel discussion was held after the special screening of State Organ at ShowTimes Cinemas at Beigang in Yunlin County.

Perseverance in Opposing Brutality

Former Yunlin County Magistrate Su Chih-fen (first from left) participated in the panel discussion.

Su Chih-fen, former County Magistrate of Yunlin County, said after the screening that the perseverance of Falun Gong practitioners is admirable. “Their stories and the stories behind them are impressive, very touching and affirming,” she said. She said the CCP’s crimes of genocide against Falun Gong practitioners, especially forced organ harvesting, are extremely cruel.

What the CCP fears the most is Falun Gong’s popularity. The regime used all kinds of torture, slander and rumors to defame Falun Gong and tried to push people away from the practice. That’s also why Su called on people to come together to support the upright and oppose brutality.

More People Need to Know This

Liu Chien-kuo, a member of the Legislative Yuan.

Legislative Yuan member Liu Chien-kuo said he felt sad after he watched the documentary. He said the crime of organ harvesting carried out by the CCP is a cruel act that violates humanity. It’s inhumane and unbelievable.

“I will work on legislation against forced organ harvesting. The world needs to know the truth about organ harvesting,” he said. Liu encouraged everyone to pass on the information so that more people could condemn the persecution, from Taiwanese politicians, members of all political parties, and the public. Organ harvesting from living people should not be allowed to continue.

Unbearable Pain

Ding Rongzhe, Chairman of Yunlin County Medical Doctors Association.

Ding Rongzhe is the chairman of the Yunlin County Medical Doctors Association and said he was deeply disturbed after watching the documentary. “In this documentary, each organ transplant case caused a series of tragedies for several families, and I felt very heavy after watching it,” he said.

“The CCP treats people like animals. What’s even more cruel is that they don’t use anesthetics, so it’s very painful,” he added. “During the process of organ harvesting, people do not die immediately, which is unimaginable pain.

“Should we still deal with such a regime? We are not anti-China, but we are against the Chinese Communist Party’s cruelty and inhumanity,” he said.

A Lucrative Supply Chain

Huang Shiwei, a physician at the Yunlin Branch of National Taiwan University, said between 4,000 and 5,000 people in Taiwan went to China for liver and kidney transplants in the past two decades. If they knew another innocent life would be killed by the CCP to harvest their organs, the Taiwanese probably would not be able to accept it.

Huang said that the supply chain of the CCP’s organ transplantation industry has huge profits. Most of the victims were Falun Gong practitioners, and later Christians, Tibetans, and Uyghurs became victims of live organ harvesting. He said that there are many reports in China of people disappearing, and their families are worried that their organs have been harvested while they are alive.

Many people in China are worried nowadays, Huang added. Once a child goes missing, parents are very worried that their children will have their organs harvested and they may never see their child again.

Telling the Facts

Guan Jianzhong from Lion Film and Television Culture Co. calls on people to support the Falun Gong Protection Act.

Guan Jianzhong from the Lion Film and Television Culture Co. said he’s received threatening letters from the time the movie was first screened. “Why is this matter so important? It’s because this is related to the collapse of the CCP. Because the CCP’s organ harvesting involves so many people. The matter of organ harvesting is like a nuclear bomb that destroys human nature. And the victims are a group of unarmed, kind-hearted practitioners,” he explained. “The CCP’s cruelty and evilness have been exposed, and everyone will oppose it. This will destroy the Party, so of course the regime is afraid.”

He said the U.S. House of Representatives unanimously passed the Falun Gong Protection Act on June 25 this year. Congressman Scott Perry who sponsored the bill said this was justice for Falun Gong which has been overdue for 25 years.

People Support the Falun Gong Protection Act

People signed petitions to support the Falun Gong Protection Act.

Many people signed petitions after the panel discussion to support the Falun Gong Protection Act. Among them was Ms. Fan from Chiayi. After watching the State Organs on an online platform, she and her friends made a special trip to Beigang to watch it in person. “Everyone knows how cruel the CCP is, and it does all kinds of things that are harmful to nature and justice. It really does all kinds of evil,” she said.

She talked about how when she was a child, she saw Falun Gong practitioners holding banners in parks and many places, practicing the exercises and clarifying the truth about the persecution. But some older relatives did not know the facts and stopped her from learning about forced organ harvesting. “I watched the documentary today and found out that Falun Gong are kindhearted people who have been severely persecuted. This is not acceptable.”

Ms. Fan wanted to help. “I also call on more people not to follow what others say, but to find out the truth for themselves. This way people will know the truth, condemn the CCP, and stop the persecution. It is the justice and conscience that everyone should stand up against regarding the viciousness of the CCP,” she said.

Ms. Huang who came with Ms. Fan said she watched this documentary today and learned a lot. “I feel that I have an obligation to stand up and clarify the truth so that more people can understand the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong. They need to know what has happened,” she added.

No More Killing

Mr. Tsai who watched the documentary for the first time said it was wrong for the CCP to slander Falun Gong and harvest practitioners’ organs. He said this is against humanity and he called on the Taiwanese people not to go to China for organ transplants. He said doing so is an act of indirect killing and will encourage the CCP to kill one more person.

Ms. Wei said that after she watched the film she felt heavy, but didn’t know how to express her feelings. “What moved me most was seeing Falun Gong practitioners who were still able to practice steadfastly despite being subjected to such cruel persecution. That kind of firm strength is so touching.

“This was my first time watching this documentary, and I could deeply feel the power of faith, which cannot be destroyed by anything,” she said. “I think each of us should exert our influence to let more people know about this matter so that something so vicious will never happen again.”
