(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 10 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
More than 10 practitioners, including Mr. Wang Liangsheng and his wife Ms. Lai Zongping, were arrested on October 30 and 31, 2024.
Ms. Wei Haiyan, 56, lives in Nanliyuan Village, Yanchun Town, Fangshan District. She was arrested at home by Yanchun Town Police Station officers on October 26, 2024. Her whereabouts are unknown.
Ms. Wang Ying mailed letters to city authorities, including the secretary of the city Political and Legal Affairs Committee, to seek justice for her father, Mr. Wang Qinghua, who was tried for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was harassed at home on November 5, 2024 by four plainclothes officers from the Xinji Police Station and Xinji township government. They questioned her on where and whom she mailed the letters to. She did not answer.
Ms. Wang Meihong, 67, a former senior engineer of Heilongjiang Province First Geological Exploration Institute, was arrested by the Haxi Police Station officers on November 23, 2020 and sentenced to four years in prison. She is scheduled to be released from the the Heilongjiang Province Women’s Prison on November 22, 2024.
Mr. Wang Jian and Ms. Yang Shuyu were arrested on February 23, 2024. They appeared in the Ganjingzi District Court at 1:30 p.m. on November 2, 2024. The computer and printer left by Mr. Wang’s deceased father, Mr. Wang Yunting, also a Falun Gong practitioner, was used by prosecutor Yan Fei as prosecution evidence against Mr. Wang Jian.
Mr. Liu Shunming of Maqiao town and Ms. He Pinqin of Yutang Village, Maqiao Town, were harassed and have been monitored since November 1, 2024, during the International Import Expo in Shanghai.
Several officers from the Hongshan Police Department went to Ms. Ren Ming’s home at 9 a.m. on October 24, 2024. They ordered the 69-year-old woman to go with them to the Nanhu Case Center to fill out some paperwork and promised to take her back afterwards. None of the officers wore their police uniform or produced their ID's.
Ms. Ren’s husband, who is in his 70s, tried to prevent the officers from taking his wife away. Deputy police chief Mei Xuelun pushed him aside and other officers pushed Ms. Ren, who was in wheelchair due to an earlier fall, away.
Ms. Ren was interrogated in the Nanhu Case Center by officers Yu Yong and Chen (first name unknown) from the Hongshan Police Department and Cheng Jiawei from the Hongshan Police Station. They ordered her to sign the police deposition report. She refused to comply. Deputy police chief Mei and others took her to Dekang Hospital for a physical exam. Although she did not pass the physical exam and was in a wheelchair, they still held her at the Wuhan City First Detention Center for ten days.
