(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 5 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 7 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Wang Wenqin, Ms. Liu Shuhua, and Ms. Chen Xuefen were arrested on July 24, 2023, and detained in the Weifang Detention Center. Minghui.org recently confirmed that they have each been sentenced to three years in prison.
Ms. Liu Huixia was recently indicted by the Qishan County Procuratorate. She is now facing trial by the Qishan County Court. She is being held in Yumei County Detention Center.
Ms. Liang Xiangjiao was arrested on October 16, 2024, by officers from the Cuiwei Police Station, for talking to people about Falun Gong at Guiyuan Temple. She is now being held in the Wuhan City First Detention Center.
When Ms. Tan Weiqing from Hengdong County went through a security checkpoint at the Hengshan Railway Station on October 23, 2024, the railway police seized her carry-on luggage, examined her cell phone, and checked her ID. They took her to the railway police station and confiscated her Zhuan Falun book and over 400 yuan in paper bills printed with Falun Gong information in her luggage.
That afternoon, three officers took her home to search the place. They then took her to the police station for interrogation. She was given five days of administrative detention that evening.
Ms. Zhang Lianyu was tried by the Yanqing District Court in May 2024, and later sentenced to 4.5 years in prison with a 9,000-yuan fine. The authorities planned to take her into custody around mid-November 2024.
