Croatia: People Condemn the Persecution of Falun Dafa at Information Day Event in Zagreb

Nov. 8, 2024 |   By a Falun Dafa practitioner in Croatia

(Minghui.org) Practitioners in Croatia held an event in King Tomislav’s Square in the capital city of Zagreb on November 2, 2024. They introduced Falun Dafa and told people about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of practitioners in China. Their colorful banners and display boards attracted many passersby and tourists, and they talked with practitioners to learn more and signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution. Some wanted to learn the exercises on the spot.

Practitioners held an information day event in King Tomislav’s Square, Zagreb on November 2.

Zagreb, Croatia’s capital and largest city, dates back to ancient Roman times. It’s an important transportation hub linking Croatia with Western Europe, the Mediterranean, and Southeastern Europe. King Tomislav’s Square is directly across from Zagreb’s main train station, a popular spot with high foot traffic where tourists often stop to take photos.

Practitioners set up an information booth at King Tomislav’s Square in the morning. They displayed a three-meter-long banner with messages in Croatian: “Let’s Stop Organ Harvesting in (Communist) China” and “Petition From the G7+7 nations” (G7 + EU Nations + Argentina, Australia, India, Israel, Mexico, South Korea, and Taiwan).

Banners

The practitioners also set up display boards exposing the CCP’s organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners. These boards presented the persecution from different angles, revealing the crimes of forced organ harvesting. Passersby stopped to view the displays.

Passersby signed the petition to call for an end to the persecution.

The display boards attracted pedestrians who stopped to read the information. Others approached the information booth and signed the petition.

Nearby the booth was a bus stop, and many passengers and pedestrians took flyers from the practitioners, reading as they walked. Some returned shortly afterward, heading straight for the information booth to sign the petition. Hearing about the petition from the practitioners, one young man quickly called his friends who were about to board the tram, bringing them back to sign as well.

Ivan, a practitioner, noticed a man wearing sunglasses standing nearby and approached him to ask if he would like to learn about the flyers. The man explained that he was blind but was still interested in the content. Ivan then carefully explained the truth about Falun Gong and the persecution of practitioners by the CCP, including the brutal organ harvesting. The blind man asked Ivan to guide him to the information booth and show him where to sign. He then signed the petition.

A group of young people passed by and took the flyers. They listened attentively as the practitioners explained the petition. One young man from Ukraine told the practitioner that he was aware of the CCP’s evil actions. In the end, the entire group signed the petition and thanked the practitioners before leaving.

The Exercises Attract Attention

In addition to handing out flyers, practitioners also demonstrated the exercises. The soothing music and graceful movements attracted people’s attention. When a tourist from an Asian travel group saw the information booth, he loudly exclaimed, “This is Falun Gong!” and immediately took out his phone to take pictures and videos.

Those who learned about the persecution and signed the petition also showed great interest in the exercises. A man from Nepal said he wished to learn how to meditate. An international student from India asked if there were any practice sites in Zagreb.

A Croatian woman who knew about Falun Dafa was eager to learn the exercises but couldn’t find any practitioners in her city. To her surprise, she saw them during the event. She was very happy and wanted to learn the exercises. The practitioners provided her with information about local practice sites.
