(Minghui.org) Ube City is a beautiful coastal city in Yamaguchi Prefecture in western Japan. It’s famous for its unique natural scenery and is known as the “City of Sculpture.” On November 3, 2024, the city held its grandest yearly event, Ube Matsuri, to commemorate the founding of the city. The celebration has been held for over 70 years and attracts more than 100,000 visitors every year.
The parade on Tokiwa Street is a highlight of the event. This year, about 2,300 people representing 31 different groups participated in the parade. The was the second time the Tian Guo Marching Band participated. Their powerful performance drew the attention of many spectators and won rounds of applause.

After he heard that the the Tian Guo Marching Band would not be allowed to play in China, Mr. Shimomura said, “This is a difficult issue. I believe that persecution based on a certain belief is condemned by the international community. The world is critical of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) violation of freedom of belief. I feel sad for those who are persecuted. I think that a tough attitude must be taken towards the CCP regarding the persecution of people in China. I hope to help those who are persecuted.”

Mr. Okamoto, an artist, said, “For the sake of world peace, human rights must be cherished. Cherishing peace and protecting human rights—this is a universal truth. Please do your best to let people know.”
Mr. Minami encouraged Falun Dafa practitioners who are spreading the truth in China at the risk of their personal safety and said, “Although it’s difficult, please keep up your efforts.”
Ms. Chiho, who dressed up as an anime character to participate in the parade, said, “You must have run into a lot of difficulties. I hope you will continue to work hard to spread the truth widely.”
After hearing about the persecution of Falun Gong, Mr. Kubosaki accepted some informational materials and said, “I will look up this persecution.”
Ms. Kamio, who participated in the parade in a decorated car, said, “Don’t give up hope. Please keep working hard.”
Ms. Iwasaki, who saw the Tian Guo Marching Band at the Ube Festival last year, said, “The uniformity of their movements was great, and the sound was beautiful. Although I haven’t seen many other groups, I was drawn by the sound of the Tian Guo Marching Band and listened to them play.”
Mr. Shimomi, who watched the band perform, said, “This is the first time I’ve heard the Tian Guo Marching Band. I think it’s great that people of different ages work together to form this band.”
