(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 29 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Zhu Huimin was arrested at home by officers from Jianqiao Police Station in Hanyang District on April 20, 2023. She was held in Wuhan City First Detention Center. Her arrest was approved by the Hanyang District Procuratorate on May 17. She was scheduled to appear in Hanyang District Court at 9 a.m. on December 13, 2024.
Elderly practitioners Ms. Huo Guilan and Ms. Zhang Yanqiu from Chencang District were scheduled to stand trial at the Jintai District Court on December 17, 2024.
Mr. He Hongjun, Mr. Fu Wenhui, Mr. Lan Qingzhong, his wife Ms. Hu Xiuli, and Mr. Tian Pengfei, a practitioner’s family member, were tried by the Shuangta Court on December 2, 2024. The hearing started at 10 a.m. and lasted until nearly 5 p.m. The second hearing was scheduled for the morning of December 18.
Ms. Zhang Shuying from Shuanglutai Village, Anziling Township, Banbishan Town, Xinglong County, was arrested on the evening of December 5, 2024. Her home was searched the following day.
Ms. Nie and Ms. Wu were arrested by the Fengman District police around December 3, 2024. Their homes were ransacked, and they were detained for 15 days.
Mr. Wang Tianyi was harassed by a community staff member and two police officers on December 2, 2024. They also took pictures of him. He lives in Huayuanba Community, Heping Road Sub-district, Shunqing District.
Ms. Wang Qinghua’s administrative litigation regarding her suspended pension payments has been accepted by Changli County Court.
Ms. Wang’s pension suspension, which had started in October 2023, stemmed from her arrest on August 16, 2022. Following her arrest, she was detained for 37 days and released on bail in September 2022.
On August 27, 2024, the Changli County Pension Insurance Center ordered Ms. Wang to return the pension she received from September 2022 to September 2023 during her bail. Ms. Wang did not accept the decision issued after an administrative review. She authorized her daughter Ms. Wang Ying to represent her and file an administrative lawsuit with Changli County Court. The court accepted her case on November 29, 2024.
Mr. Tong Mingyu from Shuangcheng District went to Ms. Liu Shuwen’s home on the morning of November 20, 2024, only to be arrested by officers from Yongzhi Police Station, in Shuangcheng District, who had come to arrest Ms. Liu.
The officers ransacked Mr. Tong’s home and confiscated a computer among other items. He is currently on hunger strike in Daoli District Detention Center and has been force fed.
He is now facing prosecution after his arrest was approved on December 5.
Ms. Zhang Xiufang was sentenced to seven years in prison for mailing letters with information about Falun Gong. He has appealed the sentence.
Ms. Yu Liqiu, Ms. Zhu Deyan, and Ms. Yu Ping were arrested on the evening of August 8, 2024, for studying Falun Gong books together. They have been detained since.
Mr. Yu Xiangqin and his wife Ms. Du Xiufang from Houtun Village, Dawang Town, Guangrao County, were arrested on the morning of July 22, 2024. Mr. Yu has been held in Guangrao County Detention Center. While Ms. Du was released on bail, she was under close surveillance and ordered to keep her cell phone with her around the clock.
The couple were scheduled to stand trial at the Dongying District Court at 9:30 a.m. on December 18, 2024.
Mr. Zhan Jun went to Zhapuzhai Village, Guanzhai Township, Julu County, on the afternoon of November 24, 2024, to distribute Falun Gong materials and was reported to the police. He was arrested, interrogated, and had his face scanned by officers from Guanzhai Township Police Station. More than four hours later, the police station contacted Mr. Zhan’s village officials, who then notified his family to take him home.
Practitioner Huimin, last name unknown, from Jinlin District, was arrested on December 5, 2024.
Ms. Yuan (first name unknown), in her 70s, from Yaohai District, was arrested in late November 2024.
Ms. Yang Shizhen from Shiquan Village, Jiuchi Town, Pengzhou City, was harassed and photographed at 2 p.m. on December 2, 2024, by several police officers.
Five people including police officers from the Mamuhe Village Police Station, in Longfeng Sub-district, went to Ms. Lei Zhoulan’s home at around 10 a.m. on December 2, 2024. They took pictures of her and searched the place. An officer also attempted to snatch her audio player, but she took it back.
Ms. Song Yun, 60, was arrested and had her home ransacked by the Badaxia Police Station in Shinan District in early November 2024. She is still being held in custody. The details of her current situation are not known.
Four people, including officer Shi Jinming from the Zhengyang Police Station, ransacked Ms. Zheng Liyan’s home on the afternoon of December 4, 2024. They confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong and took her to the police station. They gathered her fingerprints, took pictures of her, and recorded her voice. She was taken to the hospital for a physical examination. She was found to be unfit for detention and released later that day.
Ms. Zhang Rongjin and Ms. Liu Yuzhen from Heishan County went to Badaohao Town to distribute calendars bearing information about Falun Gong on December 2, 2024. They were reported to the police and arrested.
