(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 12 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

11. [Maanshan City, Anhui Province] Ms. Yang Yuping Admitted to Prison 

1. [Xuchang City, Henan Province] Ms. Wei Shuyan’s Appeal Case Heard

Ms. Wei Shuyan was sentenced to three and a half years in prison by the Weidu District Court in a virtual trial around November 2024. The Xuchang City Intermediate Court heard her appeal case on December 16, 2024, in the Yulin Detention Center.

2. [Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Junfei Sentenced to One Year in Prison

Ms. Li Junfei, 56, was tried by the Wanghua District Court of Fushun City on November 27, 2024. She was sentenced to one year in prison.

3. [Chenxi County, Hunan Province] Mr. Hu Zihua Tried in Court

Mr. Hu Zihua, a native of Hunan Province, was tried by the Xiangzhou District Court in Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province, at 2:30 p.m. on December 10, 2024. Only two of his family members were allowed to attend the hearing in person. Both Mr. Hu and his lawyer were frequently interrupted by the judge during their defense. The bailiff even snatched the defense statement Mr. Hu had prepared in order to stop him from talking. Mr. Hu was taken back to the detention center after the hearing and the judge indicated that he would schedule another hearing on his case.

4. [Linghai City, Liaoning Province] Case Against Mr. Qiu Chunsheng Submitted to the Procuratorate

Mr. Qiu Chunsheng from Jianye Township was placed under official arrest on December 9, 2024. His family was informed on the evening of December 9, 2024 that his case was submitted to the Linghai City Procuratorate.

5. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Yuan Yunlan Missing

Ms. Yuan Yunlan, 60, from Caidian District, has lost contact with her family since early December 2024. Her family suspects that she may has been arrested.

6. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Mr. Kuang Fengwen Arrested

Mr. Kuang Fengwen was arrested by officers from the Yanquan Police Station on the afternoon of December 12, 2024.

7. [Leiyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Li Huizhen Arrested and Detained

Ms. Li Huizhen was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong and was arrested on the evening of December 8, 2024. She was placed under a 10-day detention.

8. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Mr. Jiao Shoutong Arrested

Mr. Jiao Shoutong from Qingshan Township was arrested by local police around December 10, 2024.

9. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Muzhen and Ms. Zhao Xiuying Arrested

Ms. Li Muzhen and Ms. Zhao Xiuying were arrested in the Bachigang Market by officers from the Bachigang Police Station in Luannan County and Luannan County Police Department on December 12, 2024. The practitioners were taken the police department and later released on bail.

10. [Maanshan City, Anhui Province] Ms. Lai Ying Forced to Live Away from Home 

Ms. Lai Ying from Xinqiao Community of Dangtu County, 58, was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong in late October 2024. She has lived away from home to avoid further persecution. Her family doesn’t know her current whereabouts and are worried about her.

11. [Maanshan City, Anhui Province] Ms. Yang Yuping Admitted to Prison

Ms. Yang Yuping, 77, was sentenced to one and a half years with a 5,000-yuan fine on August 20, 2024. Out on bail, she wasn’t immediately taken back into custody due to her physical condition. A staffer from the social security bureau called her on October 24, 2024, saying that they would begin to suspend her pension payments soon.

Although Ms. Yang was still found to be unfit for detention after another physical examination on November 4, the authorities admitted her to the Anhui Province Women’s Prison in early December 2024.
