(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 5 cities or counties in 3 provinces, where at least 5 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Cui Liqin was arrested in July 2021 for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked, and her Falun Gong books and other belongings were confiscated. She was released on bail.
She was tried in March 2023 before the 20th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party. She was sentenced to two years in prison on February 23, 2024.
Ms. Pan, first name unknown, in her 70s, was arrested by officers from the Kuancheng District Police Department on the morning of February 21, 2024, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked and she was taken to a detention center.
Three officers from the Xinjiezi Police Station went to Ms. Gong Yun’s home after 9 a.m. on February 23, 2024, the first work day after the Chinese New Year ended. Her husband was the only one at home. The officers used his cell phone, called her father, and asked for her. Her father refused to cooperate, so they left.
Two months ago five officers from the same police station went to her home and barred the door. After a four-hour-long stalemate, she escaped through the back door.
Ms. Xing Yuqing, 80, from the Pinggu District, was arrested on October 1, 202,3 for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was released after the Chinese New Year.
Mr. Wang Yongsheng, in his 80s, was harassed at his home on February 19, 2024 by Liang Yongtian, a member of Taling Town’s Funing Village Chinese Communist Party branch. Liang forced him to tear down the Chinese New Year couplets posted on his door.
Liang returned on February 23 with two officers from the Taling Police Station. They planned to force him to sign a document renouncing Falun Gong. Mr. Wang was not at homem so his daughter signed it. They said that was not enough, and they would return and have him sign it.
